If you want a nice bowl of soup noodles, this is the place to be. Parking is available on the side streets. The inside looks a bit cheesy, with the mirrored pillars. Looks like something out of the 1990s. Staff were friendly. I thought they would speak Cantonese but nope, the girl who served us only spoke Mandarin. For some reason, this place is suspiciously similar to Deer Garden, which also has a location nearby. Even the order form looks almost identical, with the same items in the same order. Bit of a head scratcher. The Chaochou style dried fish and minced pork soup I had(tip from my friend) was very good, and worth a special mention. Tastes like it was homemade. There was a decent amount of meat, and the portion is satisfying but not excessive. Definitely not bad for the price. Try this place along with Deer Garden and decide for yourself which is better. I would imagine Deer Garden would have better parking though.

I drove by so many times and the restaurant caught my eye. One day I decided to try it. Omg, it was so good! There are 3 types of menu but all very simple to follow. The main one is a piece of paper and you get to build your own noodle soup by checking the boxes. You get to choose your soup base, noodle, toppings etc. The other 2 menus are for rice, noodle dishes and bubble tea. Very much like HK Café style food. The noodle soup I ordered arrived and it was big with lots of toppings and noodles. They did not cheap out on the toppings, and most importantly it was so flavourful. Servers were really nice. I will definitely become a regular there!

DH& I came here on Super Bowl Sunday around 12:30 pm. We were surprised to get a table right away. It’s $ 8.50 for a soup base, 2 toppings & a hot drink(extra if you want cold drinks) I ordered the Coriander & Century Egg soup with fish tofu & Choy Sum, Korean potato noodles & a hot soy milk. DH ordered Tomato & Pumpkin soup base, fish & enoki mushrooms & a HK tea. We both liked that the soup base wasn’t salty. There was 3 cubes of fish tofu & lots of Choy Sum. They brought my soy milk in a tall glass with a straw & told me it was hot. Why would you put a straw in a hot drink ? I took a sip. It wasn’t hot, it was lukewarm. On the menu, it said that Hot Soy Milk was $ 1.75 just like all the other drinks. However, when we got the bill; they entered it as a Special Drink & it cost me $ 2.00 !!! We won’t let that deter us from returning. I saw one of the servers wiping the table. She wiped it thoroughly, even moving the sugar container to wipe the spot under it. They take reservations if you have more than 4 people. They only accept cash or debit for payment. Pay at the front.

A friend suggested meeting for lunch, saying he liked this place. I think it is a great casual place. Menu is fun in that you can mix and match. Price and value is great. I was fine with the service. I never go to any restaurant during the middle of the rush if I can. I cannot comment too much about the food as I haven’t tried enough dishes yet. However the Hong Kong coffee was below average compared to other place of similar style. I will add to this review down the road.

I was thinking of giving it 4 stars but taking one out because of the HK style milk tea. The milk tea tasted differently or I should say strangely. I admit I am picky on HK style milk tea. I can tell if it is good or authentic with first«zipped». This one just didn’t taste good at all. I think it is nothing to do with the tea but the milk it was used. It had goat taste and I am not goat or lamb person. My guess they use goat milk instead of regular evaporated milk. It just tasted awful. For the food they are good for my surprise as I didn’t expect much. We ordered house special noodle combo and it tasted very good. There are many to choose from. Basically you build your own noodle bowl by selecting your favorites from a list of items. It is quite fun and convenient. I looked around and pretty everyone order different noodle bowls. We also ordered curry chicken with rice and baked pork chop with spaghetti. They were good nevertheless. Overall we were very satisfied and definitely will return next time.

Their signature noodles soups are delicious and flavourful. I enjoy both the msg-free fish soup base and the other more flavourful selections too. It is a really good deal considering you get a big bowl of noodles, with 2 choices of toppings plus a drink for only $ 7.95 I have yet to try most of the other dishes on the menu but I know that their fries are extra crispy and fresh. One downside to this place are the seating arrangements. I feel like some seats are incredibly uncomfortable and close to the next table.

If were basing my review off of value/taste it would be 4⁄5 stars. At around 10 bucks per meal you get a decent portion of noodles with toppings and a hot drink. Limited choice however. I got the laksa and my wife got the peanut soup base. Both were pretty good, but I would say the peanut soup base was better. However, it was pretty rich and heavy. I would come back here because in terms of value it was good but I would say the disappointing aspect of this place is the service. The waiters generally are not very attentative to your needs and sometimes give you a bit of attitude. Honestly though I get this from a lot of Chinese restaurants so I am not surprised but it still pisses me off. I would still come back here for food though. I’d recommend you to come give it a shot as Coquitlam lacks a style of restaurant that this gives.

Delicious fish soup base, very flavorful and the options to customize is nice to have. I had the tomato pumpkin soup base with sliced beef and rice noodle. Two thumbs up! My partner had the laksa soup base, was a little too spicy for him. The portions are large and the price is very reasonable. Would come back again. Good lunch or dinner option to have near Coquitlam centre.

I had the Original Fish Soup with sliced beef, home-made cuttlefish balls, and Korean potato noodles. We were all overwhelmed when we got our food. The portion sizes were HUGE! I thought it would be good to go for the fish soup, given their name and I was pretty happy with it. They claim that their fish soups contain no MSG(but I’m not so convinced since we were all thirsty afterwards). My choice noodles, however, was a big mistake. I wanted to be adventurous and try the Korean potato noodles but it did not really work with the broth. There were way too many noodles and they kept expanding and soaking up all the soup… Tbh, it was a pain to eat. Eventually, I was left with some soup and a huge mound of noodles even though I was already super full and it felt as if I had been eating for ages! The sliced beef was disappointing as well. We were all expecting it to be thinly sliced like the ones in phở but they were more like chunks of beef. It didn’t have much flavour either but at least it was tender. The cuttlefish balls were meh as well. On a good note, I liked how there were lots of veggies so you don’t really need to order veggies for your toppings(unless you love your veg) and my cold milk tea drink was very good. As for the service, they were confused on almost all of our orders… They either gave us a different kind of noodle or they completely messed it up, as was the case for DC. She ordered something completely different from what she actually got and when we told the server, she pretty much insisted that that was what she ordered even though her correct order was on the receipt… Eventually, the server ended up giving her an extra bowl with the toppings she had asked for. The food wasn’t great and the service wasn’t either but the portion sizes and cheap prices were pretty sweet. It was also 10% off for their opening promotion so our bill was around $ 80 for the 8 of us. I wouldn’t mind going back here but probably not until a couple of months to let them settle in and get their service together.

Hong kong style café. Food is pretty tasty and flavorful. Staff were a little confused with the orders but expected since it’s a new place. Overall I would say good experience.
