So we’ve been a few times now and I can comfortably say that the service has always been good and the food has always been tasty. I had the cloak and dagger the last time and it was delicious, juicy, and well prepared. The pesto quesadilla is also a nice change. They use tiny jars for their fries, but they’re unlimited… so order up!

Watch your bill after they ring the bell(free round). Been to several Joseph Richard bars and every one of them have tried to pull off the«sorry, I forgot to take off the free drink from your bill»? Maybe an upper management idea?

We came to this restaurant super hungry. We missed brunch by a few minutes which was a bummer, but ended up getting some promising plates. Unfortunately even though they looked good and sounded promising, they were just average. Baked ham and mac and cheese was just ok, which pains me to say because how can something that sounds so delicious be just ok? The only saving grace was the fried pickles which where pretty good, not soggy or full of water when you bit into them. Pretty satisfying. Ambiance was dark but nice, the place has a lot of character. Waitress was super friendly and did her job well. Overall the place might be good if you are having some drinks and watching a comedy show or a game with friends, sharing some bar food. Wouldn’t go in her just for amazing food alone.

Mmmmmm yummy yummy! My man and I have been here twice in the last week thanks to some gift cards from his parents. Sadly, we have now run out of gift cards, but we’ll definitely be back in the future. The first time we came, we tried the bacon cheddar stuffed burger with a side of mac and cheese and the fish and chips. The fish and chips were a good sized portion, but nothing to write home about. They were good, but there was nothing stand out about them. I love bacon and cheese, so having those in the patty was incredible! But it was that mac and cheese was what had me wanting to come back. I have never had such good cheese sauce. It was so rich and full of incredible flavour paired with the smokiness from the ham. We went again tonight, since my boyfriend is a huge Whitecaps fan and we didn’t have the channel at home for tonight’s game. When we walked in, he was a little disappointed that all of the TVs were playing hockey. However, he asked a waitress if she could change one TV to soccer, and she happily obliged. This made him very happy, until the other team scored a goal about 2 seconds in… Overall, the food here is more than fairly priced and the quality is quite good. The service is pleasant and all of the staff welcomes you to the restaurant like they would welcome a guest into their home. I’m glad they’re only a 5 minute drive down the road from our place!

So much free parking! Decent drink selection, and their food specials are good for the price. I wouldn’t pay full price for most of the food based on my own experience, but after a few drinks, it’s not too bad :)

Okay food a little over priced for the area but way fresher than woodys. Staff can be hit or miss. Some are super great some are flaky. Atmosphere not really suited for larger groups great for more private tip dinners.

I love the food here. It’s always consistent and delicious. It can be pretty loud and sometimes the service is slow but the staff are friendly. I definitely recommend eating here.

$ 4 breakfasts on weekends! And no, they are NOT awful or small. The food is GOOD. And the amount you get for $ 4 exceeds your expectations. Very pleased, and love to come here for a cheap hangover meal or a family breakfast get together. The atmosphere is rustic and very cool. Servers on the other hand need a bit of work. They’re the aspect of the place that’s dragging.

Love trivia Thursday! Great atmosphere and good drinks. I had the beef dip which was very satisfying. The pumpkin cheesecake is fantastic as well.

Right on the corner of Brunette and Lougheed Highway, you can’t miss it! Free parking, entrance through the main door(there’s a rear door closer to the parking lot, but they don’t keep it open). It can be a gorgeous sunny day in, but the lights inside will be dimmed, and there’s even a film on the windows. There is a little patio outside, though! ;-) They like to keep it busy with different activities on weekdays(the night we went was Trivia night), and they also have a selection of board games for the customers to help themselves! :-) When you first get seated, they’ll bring you a little portion of caramelized peanuts, yummy! And then you go from there. Washrooms: gents is located at the far end(by the locked rear door), past the bar; ladies is located at the very entrance(by the main door), before the bar.(Just saying. … because we found one and was looking forever for the other, as we expected them to be side by side) Fun place! Give it a try!

Love the bar, the ceiling fans are awesome. The pickles are to die for. However their service is not good at all. The girls barely know the menu. they’re all over place. took us 20 minutes to get our bill. other than that. love the atmosphere however to me service means everything

Any place that offers a half Eggs Benny order is alright in my books! Food is good, atmosphere is cool. Decent craft beer list! Too bad the location is right on a busy road(Lougheed).

Another option for beer in this part of Coquitlam(the other being Woody’s nearby). Parking is available in the nice large lot behind the building. Getting here is a bit tricky — you can’t turn L from Lougheed. If you are approaching from the W(or Highway 1), turn onto Blue Mountain first, then wrap around. The pub setting is quite typical, with wood trim. The railings look pretty cool though. Staff were friendly and professional. Nachos — served on a lazy Susan, which was a bit interesting. Neat little idea. Unfortunately, they didn’t taste too great overall. For some reason, half the cheese stuck to the paper underneath. Also, the quantity wasn’t as much as some of the other places out there. It was more like a flat pile. Lastly, the chips tasted burnt. This was also a strange one, as they didn’t look burnt. I also tried their stuffed chicken wings and fries. The wings were actually pretty good, with jalapenos, bacon, and cheese baked into the mix. The fries were way too salty, but I guess gravy will do that to any dish. The beer here tasted good. Overall a half-decent place, but nothing really stuck out other than their wings. Try this place along with Woody’s, and decide for yourself which place is better.

20 minute lunch rule here is quite the surprise. Brought a client out for lunch and noticed a slight delay to get our order but nothing too out of the ordinary for a busy lunchtime. At the end of the meal the manager came to the table and apologized for the delay and said there was a strict 20 minute policy for food to arrive from the time the order goes in and he comped the full meal minus alcohol. The food was great and different than your typical Joeys or Cactus club. For a pub, the food here is quite interesting in a good way. I had the«cloak and dagger» which was basically a smoked meat sandwich with coleslaw on marble rye and it really hit the spot! Will continue coming back here for lunch for sure.

Tables here for couples are so cute. They’re high and of hard wood. Sitting at one makes me feel like a country girl eating a dinner on a farm crate with fancy lighting all around. Sounds like a scene from Lady and the Tramp, now that I think of it. Atmosphere here is noisy sports bar night meets contemporary-yet-rustic-style date night. Black walls and dim lighting helps the mood stay at a consistent«chill» level. Things became cooler when I realized that our waitress was attentive, cheerful, and generous. Generous in that she lingered at our table a little longer to offer us suggestions on how we could spend the rest of our evening. Entrées and mains are of similar fashion as that of upscale, big-name Western cuisine restaurants in the local area. However, menu here may not be as creative and have as wide a selection as, say, Cactus Club and Earl’s. Townhall Public House is a wonderful choice for hockey night get-togethers or happy hours with a buddy/friend.

Today was a brutally shit day. From the moment I woke up the shit gods opened up the shirt clouds to dispense an enormous amount of liquid shit on my head. Traffic was shit, work was shit, and life in general was complete shit. Seriously on a scale of 1 to 10 yesterday was shit. We went for dinner at a shitty bar around the corner from our house that has 30 cent wings and it was shit. It was jammed, not a seat for us at the bar or anywhere else. A shit ending to a shit day. On the way home, we passed Townhall. There was a seat for us. Food wasn’t shit — and we ordered a pile of it. Chicken wings — not shit. Stuffed chicken wings — not shit. Nachos and dry ribs also not shit! The icing on the cake was our young server Emily. This girl was up to her tits dealing with some of Port Coqitlams finest drunken neanderthals and still had the time to laugh at my shitty jokes, make a personal connection and still keep our cups full. Seriously John Taffer should hire this girl to show the creatures on that show how to sling a pint. This girl is legit — the shit. Thanks Emily. You made our night. If I was a casting director for a major motion picture I would have cast you on the spot for the role of girl who gets shit done #1. To top it all off she’s sweeter than a cake made of pie. Go here and give this pretty girl your money. You won’t be disappointed.

We wanted a break from Asian food, so we stopped by Townhall on a late Sunday morning for some breakfast. The interior is really interesting, with tin ceilings and the ceiling fans connected and turning each other with rubber cabling. The main draw are the really reasonable breakfasts that they serve here. We ordered: Eggs benedict: for $ 6, you get home fries, toast, and one eggs benedict with ham. I opted to get a second benedict for another $ 3 more. The benedict was decent, and the home fries were nice and crispy. Townhall special breakfast: wow, for $ 4, you get two eggs, two pieces of toast, two pieces of bacon and home fries. The food was good and I doubt you can find a better deal than this for breakfast. The orange juice was just ok($ 3) since it comes out of the bar gun, but they do give you a free refill. Overall, this place is hard to beat for a good and reasonably priced breakfast. The place wasn’t full, so we were able to seat ourselves immediately. I would come here before going to Denny’s or IHOP.
