I have mixed feelings about Walmart. They are not good corporate citizens so they take a hit for that. They do have reasonable and sometimes even great prices. They carry a large selection of just about everything. They are open later then other places. I had a late night emergency once and needed some medical supplies; they were they only place that had what was needed at that late hour. I was very grateful to Walmart that evening! This particular store is cleaner and better managed then some others I have been too.

Walmart where shall I start with this location? Been converted to a full fledge Walmart with groceries. Not a bad location but this is super busy one due to being close to 4 to 5 established communities. Service is good but overall this location seems to be lacking product and not enough cashiers at the peak times. 4.5 star? Mm don’t think so in my opinion as this location also not very tidy and clean as it could be.

Sam Walton’s dream is alive and well in the heart of Calgary’s ‘deep south’ on 130th Ave. This Walmart location provides the best at the nexus of price, quality, service and selection. Whether your are shopping for groceries, clothes, pharmacy or electronics, as the saying goes, Walmart helps you save money and live better! Having moved to Calgary from the slightly warmer climes of Southwestern Ontario, I was looking for somewhat more rugged jeans with thicker denim that would complement the more frigid Alberta temperatures. The staff member was able to help me find an inexpensive pair of Rustler jeans(that are made by Wrangler) that were just the right size(and she even opened up a fitting room for me to try them on to make sure). I picked up an extra pair. Why? The jeans were only $ 13.88 a pair! I was also able to pick up some cheese(which at 2×500g bars for only $ 10 was a pretty low price for Calgary), and with the same brands we had back home in Ontario. I was also able to pick up some pills for my wife at the pharmacy and a cable for my iPad, all in the same place, for prices lower than the competition and all with the quality and selection that we have come to know and love from Walmart. I know it is trendy to hate Walmart, but you should really take a look at the value of shopping here. From the friendly greeters that welcome you at the beginning of your visit, to the helpful staff members that can help you find what you are looking for, to the cheerful cashiers that can ring up your completed order and actually give you free plastic bags(instead of nickel and diming you for one or two), Walmart continues to be the leader in retail in Canada… and it shows!

Ah Calgary, the city that loves its big box stores. So its not surprising to see a bunch of 5-star reviews for Walmart. Sure the store is clean but I would expect that from any retailer. Not a reason to give them more stars. The staff are polite and friendly but have never gone above and beyond or even asked if I need any help while shopping. Again, no reason for more than an average star rating. Their products are generally cheaper but you get what you pay for with lower quality in many cases. There’s a pattern forming here, no reason for more than 3-stars. I have never been to any Walmart where I was blown away or had anything more than average happen to warrant a review higher than 3-stars. Therefore this store is the same. I guess they have be glad that I have never had a bad experience either to have reason to drop to a one or two-star review.

I have a love hate relationship with Wal-mart. I love the fact they have wicked deals on my everyday items like shampoo and conditioner. But on the other hand I find that this store along with many other Wal-mart stores are on the messy side and sometimes lacking in stock. Also what’s the deal with every Wal-mart having 20 tills yet only have a handful of the open even though there are massive lines all the time. This is way I can’t give them more stars.

Of the Walmart’s I’ve been to in the city, this is my favorite. Comparatively clean and same great prices.

If you have kids, then you probably shop at Wally’s. Kid’s grow out of, and wear out of clothes so quickly. What’s the sense in buying anything really expensive. I think for everyday kids wear it’s fine to shop here. Toys, bicycles, and sporting goods for kids are also reasonably priced. I suggest if you want something made with better quality & workmanship, that you shop at a sporting goods store. Groceries are definitely cheaper at Walmart. The only thing I would hesitate on purchasing is meat products.

I COULDNOT believe how much less groceries are here than other grocery stores in Calgary. I was shocked! Everything from Betty Crocker cookie mix(which is almost $ 2 cheaper at Walmart) to Campbells Tomato Soup(two for $ 1) were so much cheaper. Something I’ve noticed is that prices for groceries at U.S. chain grocery stores that are also in Canada are far lower than prices in the Canadian locations so I wonder about that. Not the case at Walmart. I’m going to start going to Walmart first when doing my grocery shopping.

I’ll be honest: Every time I thought of Walmart I’d cringe at the thought of its croc-shoe wearing, sweat pant sporting clientele. I know, you hate me right now. But a part of you knows it’s true. Yeah, we all love Walmart, but one of the things we love MOST about it is that it’s socially acceptable to dress down for the occasion. You can literally roll out of bed and ride over to Walmart. No one will judge your unbrushed hair. No one will comment on your plaque-stained teeth. And no one will humiliate you by telling you that you forgot to tuck your night gown into your jeans. With this kind of comfort, comes a certain understanding that when you go to a Walmart, you know what you expect. You know you’ll get good deals, mediocre company and some of the best prices in the city. Never did I realize however that in our city, there are BETTER Walmarts than others. I seriously thought they were all the same. They’re not. I promise you. While the croc-wearing, sweat pant sporting is unanimously a safe bet, the deals, the selection and the cleanliness are most definitely dependent on which location you visit. This particular Walmart ROCKED my socks. Yes, I had socks on. I didn’t fall into the croc-wearing category. This Walmart is HUGE, it’s not busy ATALL and they’ve got sales on things that literally had my jaw dropping to the floor. One sentence y’all: 250 threat count bedsheets for $ 10. Say WHAAAAT??? Not only did this Walmart have washrooms at the front of the store, but they had some at the back as well. And let me just tell you — for the first time in my entire life, I witnessed immaculate washrooms in Walmart. SPOT. LESS. They even have a photocopy machine at the front of the store that makes copies for 10 cents. That’s cheaper than the copying prices at any local Staples store! There’s nothing better than a Walmart that isn’t packed. No wait, there is. A Walmart with impeccable deals, impressive selection and EMPTY aisles. You’ve got to see it to believe it and I’m now officially a believer.
