Service is good especially when you get a free coffee after you accidentally dropped yours. :)

The Starbucks at 66 Crowfoot Terrace is the one inside Chapters(there’s also one nearby at Safeway, and another self-standing location closer to Nose Hill Drive). I get a total kick out of coming to this Starbucks… time it right and you can see the«Yummy Mummies» let their children run wild around the store while they sip non-fat lattes, flip through unpaid magazines and even use unpaid books as coasters! If you ever feel guilty about paying $ 4 for a coffee, come here and witness true entitlement first-hand. Overall it’s a good Starbucks, though. I’ve been at least a dozen times and they’ve never made my drink incorrectly or made me wait for long. It’s always clean and you can’t deny that it’s nice to sit down for a coffee with a freshly-PURCHASED newspaper, magazine or book!

In the last week, I’ve frequented this Starbucks a total of 3 times. I know it’s a little much, but it just so happens to be located PERFECTLY. Right in the heart of Crowfoot Plaza, this Starbucks is brilliantly located next to a million convenient places(Ie: movie theatres, a pharmacy, a pet store, a couple of grocery stores, restaurants, car dealerships, pubs, a movie rental place, and the list goes on and on)! Because of its location alone, I keep going back because it’s so convenient to park my car once, and get a million errands done! This Starbucks is pretty big, attached to Chapters(that’s a no brainer) and has a beautiful fireplace dead center. The only thing I found annoying was the service. The guy who served me(all three times believe it or not) was rude. But you know what? What this Starbucks lacks in service, it more than makes up for with location!

Remember the days when Starbucks would give you a coupon for a free coffee when they either made a mistake or it took too long? Well, that is a thing of the past. On a recent visit to our local Starbucks here in Calgary, we had to wait 10 minutes for our coffees and they didn’t even come out right. We were at a location in Red Deer a couple of months ago, on the north side of the city at Village Mall, and it took forever for our coffees and there was no one else there but us! It was mystifying. And we didn’t get so much as an apology. My husband is a very frequent coffee drinker and he used to be totally loyal to Starbucks, due in part to the fact that they did make up for their inadequacies by giving coupons for future drinks, but now that they don’t seem to care about that sort of thing, he’s going wherever is close these days. And thank goodness because we used to drive around on holidays or whenever, looking for a Starbucks location. It used to drive me crazy!

A — List. If you like hot drinks and tasty treats, this is the place for you. The décor is friendly with fireplace. The service is generally prompt and efficient. At times, there are line-ups due to the movie house release across the street. This is a good place to meet up with friends. It is a comfortable place to meet with friends if you can get some of the more comfortable seats. Of late, I noticed management has reduced the number of plush seats to make way for more mundane seating to increase sales presumably. And, yes, the java is pricey. When you get tired of Starbucks, may I suggest you go over to Good Earth. I think you’ll like it a lot.
