Sien Lok Park is in Chinatown. I had no idea it even existed before AudioMobYYC last year. And yet that was the spot we were all to start from. It’s not a large park, but there’s a great big monument in the middle that makes me want to sun salute it or something on a nice warm day. According to their website, it’s called«In Search of Gold Mountain» and was carved by Chu Honsun. On a hot summer day, there are a few little trees providing some shade, but not many. This park is better enjoyed on one of those Goldilocks not-too-hot-and-not-too-cold kind of days. Grab your picanic basket and and you’re set. On a winter day? Well, can’t say there’s much to see here. Sien Lok park borders the pathway running down along the river. And though I run by it going one direction, and right through it going the other, I haven’t ever seen any reason to make this a winter destination. It really isn’t that big of a space after all. But it is Chinatown’s only green space. So, if you’ve never been, check it out!
