Pastry is meh. Customer service is awful. Location is inconvenient. The owner is a complete jerk. the hours are stupid. skip it.

Addicted to the olive bread here. Bought 3 loaves in past 6 days. I better slow down! ! But they are just so delicious! Prices are a bit high. The loaf is small for 5.50 but I can’t stop thinking about it so I keep going back. Ample parking out front. Staff helpful and friendly enough.

The staff were really friendly and helpful which made my experience and memorable one. I had the Georgia which mostly consisted of pecans and chocolate, I forgot the specific ingredients. It was great but a little too sweet. Overall, I would come back!

The hot chocolate, I believe is coming from premium and just make it when we order. The taste is fresh and wonderful, soft like the silk. The homemade sandwiches combo tastes delicious. It’s fresh and dry. I believe it’s a very good bakery shop. Macaroon here, although it can’t be compared to the macaroon in France, I guess it’s the best macaroon in Calgary

Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side. No, it’s not pretentious. Quite possibly they serve the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had in Calgary. I haven’t tried the desserts, oddly enough, but for lunch I’ve ordered the Croque Madame and also the Pain de Campagne Baguette(Gravlax with Boursin cheese). Its cosy-but-elegant ambiance is wonderful for a light lunch over good conversation.

Something different here. 20 $ for a soup and sandwich is quite ridiculous. This place has been here for so long though that I doubt anything I say will change that. Keep looking, nothing to see here.

You don’t find many true patisserie’s in Calgary. Manuel Latruwe is the real deal. I’ve heard about this place for awhile now but I really haven’t had the opportunity to go. A chance encounter(I volunteer my time delivering food to the needy) got me in their doors finally. The space is inviting and yet cozy at the same time. They have a small café with carefully selected coffees and food items. Their pastries are quite good. I ordered a «bolus» which was sort of like a chocolate croissant, a ham and cheese croissant and a cinnamon bun. Before you raise and eyebrow, I had these to go so I had them throughout the day. The bolus was interesting in that it was sort of a cross between a chocolate croissant and a roll. It was tasty. I’d recommend warming it up for 10 seconds in the microwave to soften it up a bit. For lunch I had the ham and cheese croissant. I took the last one and boy was I glad. I can honestly say that it was the best ham and cheese croissant I’ve ever had. The inside had a creamy filling with a hint of sweetness. The cinnamon bun was devoured after dinner. It was quite good. What sets it apart is it didn’t have to be drowning in sugar to be tasty. Again, warm it up a a bit if you’re into the softer pastries. That or drink it with your favourite coffee or tea. A whole day of Manuel Latruwe food and I’m having to say my favourite was the ham and cheese croissant. I will be back for more!!!

I popped in here after reading in Culinaire magazine that they offered ice cream for sale. As a sucker for ice cream, I had to check it out. I picked up a Passionfruit sorbet and, oh boy, I was extremely pleased. The flavour was intense, tangy and super fruity. I will definitely be back for more!

They understand flavour and quality. The blue cheese walnut rye bread is a favourite — lightly buttered. Their other breads are great too. Their breads are more delicate then hearty but they are delicious! On Saturdays they make a to-die-for Focaccia bread. Quality is their thing. Service has been consistently good. They do a nice brunch, lunch or breakfast.

Where have you been all my Calgarian life??? After stalking down the chocolate shop we parked and my eyes were immediately drawn to «Belgian»…I’m a sucker for good pastries, especially macaroons. Well folks, we ended up spending a mint and getting FRESH/FROZEN belgian waffles for breakfast — to die for. A bunch of different flavoured macaroons — heavenly. They even have savory flavours which I was too timid to try. Parking is great, small space to eat in. I really would like to return to try a cake as well as some of their amazing looking breads and soups. This place is the real deal peel read: there are no Vancouver-isms to spit heinously in the direction of this shop. Pure delight.

I’m kicking myself for not having visited Manuel Latruwe many moons ago. I was shocked by their array of pastries and deserts. I couldn’t stop looking around. I was in utter awe at their selections for macarons. They had so many unique flavors of to choose from, both sweet and savory. I loved their boursin cheese macaron :) it both pleased and confused my taste buds! I stared at their macaron ice cream sandwich for the longest time. Spent a good five minutes wondering if it would survive the drive home in rush hour traffic. I made the executive decision that it would not, as it would give me an excuse to make another visit here. Will be back very soon as I miss their macarons already!

It’s always a good day when Manuel Latruwe is involved! Such a great place to pick up a nice loaf of bread, and when I stopped in earlier today I was happily surprised to see so many Gluten Free choices of desserts. Even a macaron sorbet sandwich thing — gluten AND dairy free! SOGOOD!

Great breakfast. Divine cakes. Frozen pastries available for sale. Long lineups. Worth the drive from edmonton!!! This is my favourite bakery in alberta. It is better than the duchess in edmonton. In calgary it is my must go to place when im in the city. I always buy a big temptation cake it is normally sold out but if you call 3 dwys in advance they will have one ready for you to pick up. The breakfast is delish. Ive had the waffles fully loaded with chocolate, strawberries and whip. It is so good you dont care how many calories it is. Crispy on the outside with a fluffy interior. The dutch breakfast is awesome too. Some freshly baked bread with some assorted cheeses and jam with a fresh brew of excellant coffee. You cant go wrong. Lines are long and the reason is bc its so fantastic here. But make sure you get the cake as soon as you see it bc if you decide to finish breakfast then buy it, it probably wont be there when you are done. When I stop by I drop in to their neighbors for a quick dessert fix at the bernard callebaut chocolate factory.
