Yann Haute is probably the best patisserie in town. They’re known for the macaroons but their pastries are great too. The Canles de Bordeaux are fantastic as is the mini tiramisu.

We have been faithfully going to Yann’s for a few years now. Lately the quality seems to have slipped. Obviously, we are aware that it’s no comparison with macarons in Paris, but Yann’s has been a decent substitute throughout the years — until now. Over the past year we have noticed one or two macarons out of the 12 – 24 we buy were really crunchy and kind of stale. Chalked it up to a fluke each time thinking it may have been because we bought them the day before, etc. However, we are always assured that they will keep for 3 days in the fridge… so, that didn’t make any sense. Anyway, just recently we went and bought a dozen macarons and some individual cakes for a birthday. The cakes were good. The macarons, however… of the dozen we purchased, 6 of them were hard as rocks and tasted stale –SOODISAPPOINTING — considering the $ 1.95/each price tag. We don’t think we will be going here for a long time now — might as well try some of the other offerings out there. Such a shame.

I LOVE Yann Haute. Everything, and I mean absolutely everything is to die for. We usually come here for the macarons but sometimes we’ll get the fancy little deserts and cakes for special occasions. Rose/lycée and earl grey macarons are my favourite — but we have never been disappointed with any of the flavours we picked. They always taste freshly baked and light in texture. I am always so disappointed when I try macarons from other bakeries in the city and always return to Yann. I think I actually even prefer the macarons here to Laduree’s in Paris.

Yann’s is a beautiful shop off of 4th street in Mission where you can find the best French pastries in the city. Going there is such a treat! They have so many different macaron flavours and they all melt in your mouth. You also can’t leave without having the almond croissant which are my favourite! They also have a ham croissant which often sells out. So yummy! This is a great spot to get gifts for friends are family as all the desserts can come in very pretty boxes. I highly recommend this bakery:)

A must-go to place. The cakes are phenomenal. I recommend the Royal for the chocolate lovers, and the Paris-Brest for those who like praline… but they are actually all good! There is a pretty good selection of macarons too. The bread, pains aux chocolat and croissants are… simply delicious! It’s the best bakery experience I have had in Calgary so far(and I’ve tried a lot!).

Great selection of macarons and priced well, although the individual desserts are pricey. I wanted to buy a cake for a dinner party — which are around $ 40. They did not have any(I was in a hurry and didn’t find out if its something you have to preorder, or if they were just out for the day) so I bought 6 individual desserts — all the same — which cost around $ 60. They packed them up securely in a box. Everyone loved them.

The pastries are spectacular; especially the Croissant and the Macarons. Really, some of the best macarons I have had, including in Paris. Come here for the pastries and coffee and you will not be sorry, easily the best bakery experience I have had in Calgary. They don’t get a perfect rating, because not having seating is ridiculous. It’s Calgary, not Los Angeles. It’s cold for most of the year. What do they envision people doing after they buy their pastries? It’s a little anger-inducing.

Bought fabulous macarons. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a cute little bakery that I would absolutely return to, although it was quite pricey. All in all, very worth a visit.

This is a truly magical place that keeps bringing me back! Whenever I’m in the neighbourhood, I always stop by this shop. Macaroons, must have! Personally, I love the fruity and flowery taste macaroons the most. My personally favourite is the jasmine flavour. And their cakes! I take two everytime, lol. Perfect sweetness, great texture, awesome combination of flavour. Their pastries are 3D experiences! Will be back for more and more and more.

I always come to this adorable little bakery when I feel like treating myself to some french macaroons! Every time I’ve gotten them they’ve been soft and chewy! Absolutely to die for! Nice selection of flavors too, always something new!

Macaron genius! Better than some of the patisseries in Toronto, and a gem of a find on my trip to Calgary. I’ll surely miss this place.

Phenomenal macarons– violet currant great, Chai great, avoid coconut. Too bad the cake I had(some pear mousse thing) looked better than it tasted. Also, aren’t canneles supposed to pack a crunch?

Okay, I revisited the place today after I did a review few days ago. I had a Mango Macaron and a «Royal» cake… OMG…I love them so much! This is my new review: Permanent Collection Macarons = 3 stars For me, Rose/Lychee is weird, I was like having perfume Nanaimo Bar Macaron & Mango Macaron = 5 stars I crave for them! Royal Cake = 5 stars I did not wanna share it with my hubby (Chocolate hazelnut crisp, chocolate almond biscuit, apple sauce & chocolate mousse)

Made a special trip to this bake shoppe before flying out of Calgary on a week long Canadian vacation. The staff was super friendly. We got macarons and some other French desserts that were all to-die for. The blood orange and chocolate macaron was unbelievable, though the others were raving over the salted caramel. Being from Louisiana, I may never get to pass this way again. If you get a chance, make sure you don’t miss Yann’s. It’s one of the highlights of my trip!

«Amazing grace, how sweet the sound…» Hallelujah! This little shop is truly blessed with some talented chefs. It’s sort of like a Willy Wonka factory… the business is housed in a charming yellow cottage but the shop, itself, is in a tiny little room. No coffee or chairs to enjoy your sweets but thankfully there’s a Starbucks a stone’s throw away(here’s wondering when they’ll post a «No outside food and drinks» sign). LOL The macarons are delicious and there’s plenty to choose from. Their croissants are very good, especially the almond one! Their fancy-lookin’ pastries are truly decadent and they taste as good as they look! But be forewarned… you’ll likely only finish one of these in a sitting as some of them are quite dense and loaded with flavor(don’t forget to bring the milk). ;) The beignets are also very good but not to be confused with New Orleans’s Café du Monde variety… these are more in line with your typical sugar coated donuts but with flare! Looking forward to trying the rest of their offerings!

Wow, how did I not know this place existed and was also so close to me?!? And inside the world’s cutest yellow house! Macarons! Such a wide variety of flavour choices to choose from. It was hard to pick 3. I also like how they have a separate bakery area from the macarons. So if you’re just getting those like I was, the wonderful girl working that counter can serve you and then ring you up on an ipad. While I was waiting someone ahead of me had ordered a macaron tree/tower and it was adorable. The flavour of the treats themselves was exceptional, salted caramel FTW. I am upset how the knowledge of this place will affect my wedding diet. Cause let me tell you, 3 macarons were not enough!

Thanks to Unilocal I discovered Yann Haute only a block from where I’m staying. What a find! Such a gorgeous patisserie! I bought an almond croissant and three macarons; the salted caramel, pistachio and one of the fruity berry macarons. ALL were delicious. Think I might be sneaking back here again for a weekend treat!

They definitely take their art seriously; the in-store displays are eye-catching. I ordered a box of macaroons. They were nice but not worth the hassle of driving down there and finding a street parking spot. The macaroons at Deville coffee are just as nice
