There is a Crowfoot Liquor a few blocks down 14th Street toward 17th ave, A giant lit up sign reading cold beer, wine, spirits is why you would walk into a place like liquor bank. It’s one of those liquor stores where you actually struggle to figure out what the name of it is. But I mean, what do you care? They’ve got beer! They pack in as much stock as humanly possible, which gives you a good selection, but it’s also cluttered, beaten up, dirty and really disorganized. They’ve got a walk in beer cooler, but I use the word cooler lightly. You can hear fans running but the temperature isn’t noticeably different from the rest of the store. I walked in from the winter weather and thought«I should just stay in this beer cooler for a few minutes to warm up.» I maybe would have, but that musky refrigerator with the power off smell made me change my mind. Watch your step — the floor is made out of flimsy board that feels saturated with water making soggy spots and things to trip on everywhere.

When I walked into this place, at first I thought they didn’t sell beer! A fairly tiny space, but they have packed so much into it, I was greeted by shelves upon shelves of hard liqour and wine. I spotted the cold section door, plastered with posters, I opened the door and was immediately lost in a maze of coolers and beer, I wound myself through until I found a 6 pack of San Miguel to compliment my Indian feast. I must note though, for the cooler room, it was about 2 degrees colder than the rest of the shop. My beer could not be considered chilled. I got out of the cooler somehow and was immediately at the till. I think they are able to have so many shelves since the till island is tiny. Fairly surly staff, price seemed a little high for my beer. There is customer parking to the right of the store. Not my favourite liquor store and unfortunately for them 14th has a lot to offer. If they lower the cooler temperature, I may stop in again.
