My family loved this pizza so much they started just ordering it for pick up. Then on mothers day we were across the street wondering where to go now that the original place we were going to was closed and across the way was Ramona Pizza. As we waiting to cross the street they were telling me how good this pizza was and speculating what the actual menus would be like. We walked through the doors to find ourselves in a climatized enclosed Italian patio overlooking the ocean waves. Once they seated us in this busy patio we commenced to look over the options, a Mediterranean delight. There were so many delicious options to chose from. We finally came to a decision and placed our order with an appetizer of oven baked bread with veggie sauce and cheese. And I ordered the most vegetables in one dish you could get without being vegetarian, the Red Snapper. As we waited and waited with growing anticipation I noticed the golden espresso machine, without hesitation I was ordering a cappuccino. And it was the real deal, a hard thing to find in a Latte city. When the food finally arrived it was well worth the wait and my mother was more than pleased. She even had enough to bring home for lunch the next day. If you have yet to walk into this fine hiding out in the open Gem in North Burnaby, step inside and be transformed on a Mediterranean journey, you’ll be glad to have taken the trip.

Love this hidden little gem. I’ve tried many of their pizzas and they are awesome! Such thick toppings and very well sauced /cheesy. All I can say is the service is very friendly in this family oriented restaurant and you should give it a try.

An excellent renovation. Greatly improved atmosphere. Good service. Top notch pizza. The Heights Pizza was excellent. The best in town.

I am extremely disappointed. Not only once but a second time I ordered food for a home delivery. The woman was rude and obnoxious after I was told my food would be delivered just shortly after 5 and 50 minutes late and a promise for a phone call back, she hung up on me after saying she was busy. We were there opening night with the new owners. very odd, totally not ready to open less than half the menu available. much to my surprise, the menu has not changed in about 40 years. and it tastes it! New owners have decorated, but the food is a disaster. stick to the pizza that’s about all

Warm atmosphere with good quality food the first time we went there. Try Burnaby heights pizza. Update… The second time was not as good. The pizza was not well cooked and came late. That’s why I took one star out. They renovated and increased the prices too.

Disappointing after reading a few positive Unilocal.Ordered the calamari dinner. Soggy flavourless squid. Small portion. Bigger portions on the fillers — rice, greek salad. We ordered the cheese bread which was $ 7 for two small slices of bread with melted cheese. Not impressive. My wife ordered the baked ravioli which was a bit better than the calamari. Service was good. Place was warm during a hot day. Hint: customers like a/c in restaurant when it is HOT. Won’t return.

Mmm solid pizza. Everyone said get the pizza even though I was craving pasta but pizza you recommend, pizza I will get. My friend and I split a Large into the Gourmet (Chicken, Spinach, Garlic, Olives, Sun Dried Tomatos) & Burnaby Heights(Ham, Pineapple, Pepperoni, Salami, Mushroom, Green Pepper, Onion, Olive, Tomato). Holy was it a loaded large pizza(4 slices each). The Gourmet was perfectly made with just the right amount of topping and well baked cheese layer. The Burnaby heights was a little too meaty for me. Not because I don’t like meat but because it felt like I was eating an open faced sandwich more than a pizza. I rarely say this but there was too many toppings, pizza ratio was off. This is a now run by Chinese family but hey if they make great food who cares. Everyone else at oir table enjoyed their meals. Great portion size great flavours. If you are a fan of Greek try the Chicken Thessaloniki –Chicken breast topped with spinach tomato veggie sauce, Baked with a three cheese mix. Served with roasted pototoes, rice and greek salad. Very nice owners. Let our friend park her bike inside restaurant cause she didn’t have a lock. Free parking outside too(except between 3−6pm M-F I think)

Good pizza and good service. I have yet to dine in, but the take out seems good for me. Try the pizza if you’re in the neighbourhood and craving for some pizza!

Best pizza ever! This place is kind of hidden and I was fortunate enough to go during a not busy hour. You could tell that this pizza was made with very fresh ingredients. It’s just perfect. Crispy crust and everything.

This is the best pizza, eat in or take out in Burnaby. Try the Burnaby Heights Pizza. Mmm mmm great! This place has been here for 44 years and hasn’t wavered in its quality or value over those four decades. Love it!!!

Disgusting, overpriced Chinese owned restaurant with no heat. Order pizza and stay away from everything else.

Group of Asian operators appears to have taken over after Poppy retired. Don’t let that fool you they’re very welcoming and accommodating. I believe the European chef remains the same. They provide free cake for the whole table and free meal for the birthday celebrant. Ribs seems to be the best dish here.

If you haven’t heard, the owners(Eugene and Poppy) are closing the restaurant on 31 March 2014, after an astonishing 41 years. See link below: As a result, there was quite the dinner rush here as word got out. The feel is a lot more casual as well, with family members running around. Their grandkid was even playing«waitress» with my friends and I. Insanely cute. This time I now had a chance to try the ribs. The rack itself is a bit small, but the meat is tender and comes right off the bone. Nice smoky flavour too. The dish comes with lasagna — it tastes a bit like Chef Boyardee, which is totally awesome. As usual, the calamari and supreme pizza deliver. Absolutely delicious. This place will be missed when it goes.

Lamb souvlaki was great but the spaghetti and meatball tasted a bit like Chef Boyardee… pizza was great generous cheese and toppings. Slight pricey for neighborhood and décor/audience(family?!). Service was decent/attentive(considering we were the only ones there on Sunday night…)

What a great little family restaurant and it’s been in business for 39 years! I came here for dinner with my husband, parents, brother and grandparents the other night and was greeted warmly on the phone and in person. I think the staff here are all family and they really do care about your experience at Romana. My grandparents tend to only eat Chinese food so they were not enjoying their Italian/Greek meal at all, but the staff tried the best they could to please everyone. I recommend their calamari, which were lightly battered and freshly fried. I enjoyed their lamb dish and I also couldn’t stop eating their 3 dips(hummus, tzatziki and eggplant) with pita bread.
