Edo Restaurant is probably the gateway to eating your basic teriyaki at a price where it is fairly reasonable and the right amount of food, but it is like meh. I wanted to get the bento box which had a choice of chicken, beef or shrimp. It came with 3 pieces of California Roll and 2 spring rolls were like Cha Gio but very tiny. ^^ I ordered the beef and it came with your vegetables and rice and the«secret sauce.» I got to taste the stuff, thankfully, I was there early, so they made everything fresh to order which was a bonus. It tasted somewhat okay with the sushi. Nothing special and nothing disgusting about it. The spring rolls had lots of vegetables in it. The teriyaki tasted okay, but I felt the flavor was very darkening and rich with that deep flavor. I am thinking it is probably shoyu based seasoning. The only problem with this place is that they lack variety. I mean they do sell Udon Soup, and they also promote contests if you buy any of their shrimp. But their shrimp is very small and tiny, which I had no interest in eating. There are better places then this for Teriyaki, but then again, it is the only one available at Brentwood. It is also a franchise, so keep in mind that they are not going to have different flavours at all.

I had the beef yakisoba, was really good and great for the price. You can tell everything is fresh and natural. The sauce is great too… I also had a side order of dynamite roll. I gotta say, the most overpriced dynamite roll I’ve ever bought, and they’re not even the normal size… they were california roll sized with no imitation crab, just a slice of shrimp tempura, avocado, and cucumber. I don’t recommend anyone getting the sushi… I hope they just get rid of the option in general… because you’re only as strong as your weakest link. Anyway I tried their rice dishes before, they were ok, their yakisoba is the best on the menu.

Edo Restaurant appears to be a franchise as the owners don’t appear to be Japanese or know much about«sushi». Opted for the noodle dish, prepared okay, tasty, but noodles have a different texture. Prices are reasonable for Canada and within budget friendly restrictions. Dont’ look for huge portions because you won’t find any. A good place for lunch.

Edo offers decent options, reasonable portions and pricing and they are quick. Brentwood Mall seems to have its fair share of better and healthier choices compared to many food courts. A-OK
