Have you ate a donair at Sammy’s Donair yet. You Must! The sauce, onions and tomatoes combined with the freshest meat and pita was undeniably the most enjoyable donair ever. Well at least since the last time I ordered one at Sammy’s Donair. The service is also wonderful too. Thanks, Heather

This is a Lebanese shawarma/falafel/donair place. The other donair place we’ve been to in Burlington is a east coast style donair — Montréal pizza place. This donair place is much larger and has plenty of seating both tables and counter style along the side wall and front window. Here you line up and order and they eventually bring your order to you on a tray with your drinks if any. Today I ordered the Donair combo not to be confused with the combination plate. The Donair combo included a regular sized donair which is the meat, sauce, diced onions all wrapped in a pita inside a paper wrap inside a plastic wrap. You have a choice of rice or salad and a drink as well. This I found well wrapped and because of the plastic and the tight paper wrap there’s no chance it will leak all over. This donair was quite generous with the meat and it was quite filling. The sauce which is always a bit sweet was good but there wasn’t too much. The sauce is a bit runny and not thick like tzatziki. The side of rice was really red in color. I don’t know what made it so red but it wasn’t spicy and it had a different taste to it but it was also good. The combo after tax was 15 dollars. The combination plate is what I will get next time. It’s more of what I tend to order which is a plate of your choice of meat(shawarma or donair, rice, salad, pita and a drink. Their menu is pretty large and they even have a variety of desserts as well. This establishment was basically pretty full when we arrived and most of the tables were already taken. They only take cash but there’s a ATM inside. There’s also a bank in the strip mall if you don’t want to use theirs.

I can’t say it’s the best donair on the planet, but I can say it’s the best donair I’ve ever had! The meat is spiced perfectly and the sweet sauce sauce balances the spice and onions just right. I live 3 hours away, and every time I come to visit Burlington I do everything possible to ensure I get to visit Sammy’s for a donair. Great service, great food. Basic diner-like environment in the restaurant, but it’s clean and bright.

It’s the best donair around ! The quality and flavour and spices in their meat are second to none. I tried Halifax donair in Burlington a long time ago and was disgusted. Sammy’s … Bring back the SUPER ! Their sauces both sweet and tahini are addictive. Medium Hot is plenty and Hot is too much. I’m a regular for life.

I started coming to Sammys years ago as an occasional customer. Soon after I was eating there every day for dinner. Now I feel like the guys who work there are part of my family. They’re always friendly and interested in what’s going on in their customers lives, and you can’t beat the food. I’ve traveled all over for work and have not found a better donair. Would recommend Sammys to anyone!

When your boss AND supervisor(who are both chefs) tell you to go somewhere to eat, YOUDOIT. I’ve had my fair share of falafel and shawarma and gyro and all that good stuff so when I was informed that a donair is just another addition onto what is all that deliciousness I had to pop over and try it out. I was not disappointed. The guy that served me(I’ve been informed that it was the original owner’s son) was more than happy to offer me a couple of samples to try and proceeded to give me instruction on how to eat the donair so as to not have it end up all over myself. It was fantastic. I will definitely get it more spicy next time because I’m picky like that but still out of this world flavour and hospitality. PLUS the sauce… Good heavens the sauce. I would put it on absolutely anything and everything. I know that Sammy’s has been a staple in Burlington for a long time but since having only heard about it recently it is new to me — but I will definitely soon be becoming a regular now. Nothing short of great quality, great service and a great excuse to take an early lunch break(or to skip class!)

I have being eating Sammies since I was 15 years old I am now 43! My love for Sammys started at the original location on Fairview Street in the chaps plaza. We used to play the table top video games and have a donor at least once or twice a week back in the 80s. And has continued on my entire life. I recently took my four-year-old son in for his first donair and of course he loved it. I made a post on my Facebook the other day stating how much I love your donairs. One of my friends replied that I should go and try Halifax donairs. Well I did just that today as I was in the area and was completely disgusted with the taste and the amount of grease that consumed the entire donair. It was disgusting I got as far as two bites and threw it away. The bread was so wet from the grease that as soon as I picked it up it fell to pieces. The meat and the sauce was also not good. Their portions were a great size and had a small medium and large for options. This is the only thing I wish you had for an option. The regular is just not enough and the super(extra meat now) is just too much. Regardless Keep on doing what you do as I pass the donair torch to my children. Customers for life. Sorry I doubted you in the first place! Much love staff of Sammy’s! Oh and get a debit machine will ya!!!

Best falafel around but messy. Great tahini. Service is nice but they only accept cash so bring some to avoid the fee at the ATM inside

Sammy’s is solid. Great Donair and the sauce is to die for. We used to get donairs every Friday instead of pizza when my Dad worked in Burlington.

A little pricey for fast food, but this is the best Donair this side of Halifax. Sammy’s has been a staple in Burlington for more than two decades, and I always make it a point to get at least one visit in, anytime I’m in the golden horseshoe. The quality of the meat, pita, and veggies are excellent, but the real show-stopper is the sauce. Sweet and buttery, I’d put this sauce on everything if I could. For the other reviewer, who tried to go off-the-menu – get over it. Sammy’s is usually a busy place, and they don’t go off the menu to keep the line moving. If everything was cook to order, it would take a lot longer for the rest of us. Fun Fact: The owner’s name is Noble, not Sammy. He named the business for his brother, who put up financing against his plumbing business(Sam Harb and Sons).
