Champaign, IL
This is a semi-​fancy seafood restaurant in Brussels old fish market area. I say semi-​fancy because it has all the trapping of a fancy French restaurant, but (at least at lunch on a Friday) a range of casually to business-​dressed patrons. I had a chef’s amuse of the new herring on dark bread, which was lovely, a wonderful anisey seafood soup, and poached cod with a killer sauce that clearly had a lot of butter in it, negating all the healthiness of poaching the cod, but making for an absolutely delicious lunch. Nice meal.
