A l’entrée on s’imagine immédiatement au Maroc, très chouette ambiance. Le service est super sympa! Si vous aimez des mezze, ils sont absolument à recommander!

Je suis allée manger dans ce restaurant avec une amie et nous avons été charmées par le cadre. Lampe marocaines colorées accrochées au plafond, tissus au plafond, petites tables chaleureuse, tapis et carrelages au sol. Bref, visuellement nous étions à Marrakech.
Nous avions décidé de prendre un apéritif, histoire de bien commencer la soirée.
J’étais surprise de voir que les seuls sirops disponibles pour mon kirr étaient grenadine, menthe et cassis. Aucun apéritif maison, aucune évasion à ce niveau.
Il est vrai que je garde un fantastique souvenir du Pink Dream, un cocktail que j’avais bu à Marrakech, ville dont je suis tombée littéralement amoureuse.
Alors, voilà le moment de commander les plats. Les serveurs, certes très aimables, n’étaient pas très présents, occupés à servir plusieurs tables en même temps… Bref le service n’était pas mauvais mais disons qu’il n’était pas très avenant non plus.
Mon couscous était bon mais pas assez épicé et assaisonné, je regrette ces Immenses morceaux de céleri… Mon amie a pris des côtes d’agneau qui étaient quant à elles très bonnes et assaisonnées.
Bémol: Il me restait pas mal de semoule, 2 merguez et de la sauce et personne né m’a demandé si je souhaitais prendre le reste à emporter. Dommage!
Vient le moment du dessert, thé à la menthe magnifique et «pâtisseries marocaines». Nous dirons plutôt 4 minuscules pâtisseries, molles et pas extraordinaires. Elles avaient toutes le goût du massepain et toutes la même texture…
[ Moi qui suis une fan de la pâtisserie «La Rose de Damas» près de la Bourse, j’aurais mieux fait d’y prendre mon dessert :/​)
Je conseille ce restaurant, mais à mon sens, pas pendant le Ramadan car les serveurs sont (et je les comprends fort bien) un peu fatigués en fin de journée et cela se ressent sur le service.
Vu les commentaires précédents, j’y retournerai certainement pour goûter leurs tajine qui ont l’air très bonnes.
Et puis bien sur, j’y retournerai car j’ai aimé me sentir à Marrakech l’espace d’une soirée et rien que pour ça, Merci !

Very amazing place. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay as well as sparkling and bottled water for drink. We ordered tajines for our entrees. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The food was tasty and a good temperature. I recommend to those who have or haven’t ate Moroccan food before.

This is probably the best Moroccan place in Belgium. And that’s saying something, considering the large Moroccan immigrant population in Belgium and Brussels being the centre of the European Union.
I’ve been going here for almost 20 years. Parking can be difficult in this neighbourhood, if possible use the metro.
Moroccan waiters can be even worse than French ones. A good discussion is part of the experience, don’t forget that you are here for a good time, and that a good time in Morocco is not the same as a brothel visit in San Francisco.
I would kill several people for the Merguez served at this place. The Tangines and Couscous served here is just divine. The Casablanca beer served here is pretty good even for Belgian standards, and they have some pretty decent after dinner drinks.
The area down below at –1 is probably more authenticly Moroccan than the seating area located at the ground floor. But they only open it up on weekends.
Don’t be distracted by what people tell you about this place. It really is the best authentic north African food you can find in Brussels!

Le décor est magique, le plafond est couvert de lampes orientales; tables plutôt basses et petites chaises, l’ambiance est définitivement orientale ici !
Entrées de 6,20 € à 13,70 € (mezze kasbah)
Tajines de 15,10 € à 18,90 €.
Couscous de 14,50 € à 20,90 € (pour le royal: agneau, brochette, poulet et merguez).
Choix de grillades et de délicieux desserts!
Il vaut mieux réserver pour le week-​end.
Ils sont donc surchargés (le week-​end).
Résultat de fin de dîner:
Bön … ben au final on n’a pas bien mangé.
Le poulet du tajine était beaucoup beaucoup trop cuit et tombait en purée (oui ben quasi).
Le jus du couscous royal etait inssipide. On a du rajouter une fameuse dose de sel /​harissa pour que ça goûte quelque chose.
Le vin était beaucoup trop frais et le fond (qui nous a été versé dans nos verres) nous ont révélé une bien grande quantité de dépôts …
Bref belle ambiance avec danseuse du ventre, beau cadre mais la cuisine est vraiment devenue bof bof…
Dommage !

Je passais depuis pas mal de temps devant la Kasbah, resto marocain qu’on m’a conseillé quelques fois.
On y est très bien accueilli, avec le sourire et de l humour.
Le cadre est très sympa, une quantité de lampes incroyable au plafond, des photos de personnalités en noir et blanc, tentures, tables basses. La capacité est pas mal, la salle est assez longue.
J’ai pris un tajine agneau abricots amandes raisins, pas mal du tout! Mes amis ont opté pour le couscous royal, servi très généreusement bien sur.
Je suppose que ce n’est pas le meilleur couscous du monde, mais il n’y a rien a redire sur la qualité, cuisine simple et généreuse qui remet en forme un lendemain de fête de nouvel an ;-)
Et c’est ouvert le 1er janvier!

We stayed on Antoine Dansaert Straat and passed this place frequently. As fans of Moroccan cuisine, we very much wanted to try it out and we were not disappointed. The vegetable sampler and lamb etuve were delicious and very filling. We tried Moroccan wine for the first time and were intrigued. The service was friendly although they refused to serve water from the tap (which I always find quite wasteful but to be expected in Europe). The atmosphere is very pleasant, with comfortable cushioned benches, interesting photos, good music (Oum Kalthoum) and dozens of Moroccan lamps as you can see from the photo. They sent us home with a small souvenir. A very enjoyable evening!

Here is my La Kasbah experience:
Service — The Service was pretty awful, there were nine of us and the arrogant waiter just stood at the end of our table and made us all shout (in a noisy restaurant) our orders down to him, just to save him walking up the table, which would have been very easy. He also had a bad attitude and flung our drinks/​food in front of us. He made us feel quite uncomfortable. Not a good start.
The Food — We ordered Hummus to start, I was thinking since I make it at home myself it is virtually impossible to mess up, Well I was wrong! The Hummus that arrived was from a tin, I know this because I bought a tin once and never bought it again. I was really embarrassed since I had guests in town from the USA. They said ‘Waw Hummus is certainly different here in Europe’ I did not want to tell them it was tinned.
For my main course I ordered the grilled chicken. The chicken is served with a potato and salad, which would have been ok if they were not trying to pass of Rabbit as Chicken! There is a distinctive difference in the number of bones in Rabbit and Chicken, with every mouthful of my ‘Chicken’ I had to remove the bones from my mouth… Also, lets just refer to it as ‘The MEAT’ was really dry and tasteless.
Restaurant — The restaurant itself looks nice, authentic and inviting but don’t be fooled! The toilets were disgusting, the toilet floor was flooded with water from the sink, so basically in my open toe sandals I had to wade through few inches of water to use the toilet. It was really gross and stayed like that the whole night.
An unfortunate tale… ;-(

La Kasbah is a Moroccan restaurant in the centre of Brussels, situated on the trendy Rue Dansaert (host to many independent fashion designers), and just a few hundred metres from Bourse.
Immediate points given for the welcoming atmosphere and decoration, the 120 coloured lanterns and various photos and portraits on the walls give it an authentic North African feel.
The menu is fairly straight forward and matches what is typically on offer in most restaurants from the Maghreb.
For starters you can choose between a cold salad, all of which are well garnished, or a warm warqa pastry stuffed with tuna or merguez. They have a few other things, including a large mezze, but I’d stick to salad or ‘bricks’ (stuffed warqa pastry).
For your main course you have three options: a couscous, a tajine and, or, grilled meats.
If you are hungry then I can recommend the large Kasbah couscous as it gives you a little of every meat, perfect to sample what is on offer. You’ll get the same meats if you take the grill, more of it, but minus the couscous grain and broth.
As for the tajine, my favourite are the lemon, chicken and olives, or the lamb meat with prunes and grilled almonds.
The end product is excellent, succulent meat or flavoursome tajines, it all makes for a great meal
Other good points:
* Simple yet refreshing and well balanced sorbet desserts
* Can host very large tables and groups (lots of room)
* Friendly staff
* Good Moroccan wine
Downside:
*Tables close to the kitchen can be noisy, disturbing and feel rushed
*Last I went on a Saturday I had to pick between a table at 19:00 or one at 21:00 — not sure if it always this way but would much rather pick my own time.
*If vegetarian then only limited options available
*More chickpeas in the broth

Took a chance from a local food blog and hit pay dirt!!! This place is something you may walk pass, but you would pass an opportunity to be culinarily transported to Morocco. Been dying to try some and I’m glad I did!!!
The food was flavorful and not rushed. Every dish brought out screamed flavor. The décor is cozy (can feel a bit cramped), but you make the intimate best of it. :-)
The menu is in French and Flemish, but our server was fluent in English and I knew a few French words, so it worked out.
The staff were welcoming and cohesive as a unit, which makes or breaks the service experience. I would definitely recommend this for a date (mine loved it) or for friends.
Great way to start off my leg in Brussels.

I loved the tagine entrees, mint tea and Belgian beer. Great atmosphere, lovely dining room and friendly, helpful staff. They have English menus and the waiters speak English.

I did a semester abroad in college to Morocco and get cravings REAL bad sometimes. I drug my husband and a few pals in while sight-​seeing and was not disappointed. It was nice to have a cup of Sultan tea again, and I would love to know where they get their merguez sausage. Portions are quite large and not terribly priced.
Restaurant has a lot of ambiance. Would be great for guests or dates!

This is the best Moroccan food I’ve had outside of Morocco or France. It’s a dark and intimate space, and apparently great for dates. I’ve dined there solo a few times — my big caveat is that they seem rather irritated when you show up alone. The tubes of harissa on the tables are a nice touch — this stuff is hard to find back in the States.
Stay away from the couscous, and dive into the tagines. I don’t know where they source their merguez, but would love to know. I’ll update this when I get to the grillades later this week.

Wir hatten reserviert, uns gerade noch so reinquetschen können für 19 Uhr, die Gruppe nach uns wohl für 21 Uhr. Das ist doch kein Problem, oder?
Für die Kellner schon, denn sie verweigerten uns die Vorspeise aufgrund Zeitmangels. Aber mal unter uns gesagt, was mir der blöde Penner da sagt ist mir verdammt noch mal egal, wenn ich eine Vorspeise haben möchte dann bekomme ich auch eine! Und so war es dann auch ;-) Leckere Horare Suppe oder wie das Zeug heißt war gut.
Hauptspeise Lamm Tajine mit Pflaumen und Mandeln, auch gut, aber nichts besonderes. Dabei nochmals die Freundlichkeit des Kellners auf die Probe gestellt, als er den Deckel der TAjine abnahm und irgendwas daraus auf meine neue Jeans tropfte. Sagt der Kollege zu mir Alles cool? Nix war daran cool.
Nachspeise hab ich überall mitgenascht, das Sorbet war ok, 1001 Nacht Eis schon besser, die Orangen sahen auch sehr gut aus.
3 Sterne, weil das Essen lecker aber nciht ansprucksvoll war, und der Service komisch. Ich würde wieder hingehen wenn ich Lust auf den Wüstenfraß habe ;-)

Ouvert en 1996 par un Belge passionné du Maroc, c’est en faisant d’innombrable voyages que le patron a réussi à réunir ces 120 lanternes qui décorent le plafond. Ce souk oriental invite les voyageurs à quitter leur dune pour s’installer le temps d’une tajine, ou d’un couscous en famille ou entre amis, même très tard le soir à la lueur nocturne. Les prix restent modérés pour un restaurant situé en plein Dansaert, les entrées chaudes ou froides sont assez abordables.

Si vous cherchez un bon restaurant maghrébin à Bruxelles, celui-​ci est à tester et re tester sans aucune hésitation ! Décor feutré et très cosy. Les innombrables lampes marocaines et la vaisselle de service vous plongent dans les mille et une nuit. Tout est fait pour vous transporter. J’ai particulièrement apprécié le tube de harissa «Cap bon» sur chaque table ! Clin d’oeil original qui vous permet de doser le piquant. Accueil et service ultra chaleureux. Le restaurant est d’ailleurs plein jusqu’à minuit sans discontinuer. Carte fournie, traditionnelle mais tous les plats sont maitrisés. Couscous copieux et tajines parfaitement cuits et assaisonnés. Né faites pas l’impasse sur le dessert, la glacé à la fleur d’oranger (Mille et une nuit) est une pure merveille. Originale et savoureuse !

Avec la sensation de se retrouver au cœur d’une casbah marocaine, on vous servira dans la pure tradition, des tagines et des mets mijotés avec un souci d’hospitalité ancestrale.

Restaurant oriental offrant du choix en plat. La cuisine est correcte et copieuse. Est-​il besoin de préciser que la cuisine est riche ??? Ce n’est peut-​etre pas la meilleure adresse de Bruxelles pour ce type de cuisine mais on y mange bien et l’accueil est très agréable. Très bon thé à la menthe en fin de repas.
