Great little bar for American Football on a Sunday, sure you might think we were on vacation couldn’t we go ONE Sunday without it? Nope, we couldn’t!
They advertised the games outside which attracted us inside and we found many other fellow Americans which was cool to finally understand what people were saying :)
The only thing I would change is a larger beer selection, I know it’s an irish bar and all but I was looking for german/​Austrian beer and they didn’t really have much of a selection of that.

As a student studying abroad in Salzburg, Murphy’s Law makes for the best time I have had for a mellow Whiskey drink in on any night of the week. My first experience there was quite incredible, and Irish band jamming in the back, the friendly bar tender calling me love, and great company as well as great beer. MUST GO

Well Murphy’s Law ticks all these boxes so gets a five star rating from me. Could have easily spent a few more hours there but unfortunately there were more pubs to explore…

Sadly, I only had one pint at Murphy’s Law. Of the three Irish pubs in Salzburg, this is the one with the neighborhood bar feel. It’s also the smallest. And maybe the one most serious about football, as I noticed the TVs more here.
I think the other pubs on the main drag lean more toward the hookup vibe (at least at weekend), but ol Murphy’s, with it’s sneaky side-​street locale brings in the diehards.
If it’s good old fashioned bar you want… this is your Irish pub. (Unless you’re a freak for Magner’s; think this spot has Strongbow on draught. Don’t judge me, Guinness-​lovers, for my cider kick…)

Words cannot express my love for Murphy’s. This place was my local watering hole for the duration of my studies at the Salzburg College. Run by two gents (a brit and an irishman, naturally), there are only three rules to abide:
1. No speaking german
2. It’s called football, not soccer!
3. Tips ain’t just a place in China
These guys run a tight ship and don’t put up with any bullshit, but they aren’t above razzing the newcomers and shit-​talk a great deal (all in good fun). The Guinness is always good and so is the company. Also, keep it down if there’s a game on, would you?

The Snakebite are fine, the bands are great, because the toilets are terrible!

Ich war jetzt zweimal drin und fand’s nicht so toll. Der Wirt hockt mit dem Rücken zu den Gästen und guckt fern, das Guinness schmeckt nicht, und bereits das erste Mal wie ich dort war mußte ich erst noch eine Stunde spazieren gehen bis geöffnet wurde, obwohl’s Zeit gewesen wäre, weil noch nicht fertig geputzt war. Seltene Whiskys gibt’s woanders auch. Witzig finde ich die Sprüche außen auf den shutters, aber das ist auch alles. Also ich geh da sicher nicht mehr rein. Wenn die Betreiber keine Lust haben, tagsüber auch Kundschaft zu haben, dann sollen sie erst abends aufmachen und gut is! Aber so nicht!
