What the restaurant lacks it certainly makes up for in service and the venue itself. Food was great! But compared to eg neighbouring betoli? my opinion only. the salmon was awesome but the choice of pickled cucumber I would question. Understand the chefs intention and know where his/she’s going w/this but it was wrong! Why not try using finger lime on something else basic like sweet potatoes. The steak although tasted great came out medium instead of medium rare. Won’t hold that against them. Still went down the same way besides that looooved it! Oh almost forgot the entrees we had! Mediterranean Mezze w/spicy olives and dip! Pretty darn gd! Loved the spicy olives. Wasn’t too keen on the comin fused nuts. The asparagus with churos n sweat potatoe! Equilateral gd. Asparagus was grilled in olive oil and had that charred taste! Yum! Anyway time for a Nani nap now after a very relaxing drive into the valley n back w/a full stomach. Happy Unilocaling y’all!

Tarra Warra may not have the most expansive cellar door in the Yarra Valley, but it certainly has one of the best views. The cellar door looks out across an expanse of vines and the rolling valleys of Yarra. I also think that they have some of the best tasting wines. This is because I am a massive Pinot Noir fan and this is the grape they grow best. You will find Tarra Warra situated at the end of a long driveway at the top of the hill. There is also a restaurant and an art gallery, as well as a small range of wines to try. They aren’t one of the biggest wineries, so don’t get too busy. But if they are you can always go check out the gallery in the adjacent building while you wait for things to quieten down.

Tarrawarra Estate is one of the Yarra Valley’s most beautiful vineyards, sitting atop one of the area’s gently undulating hills and encompassing an art gallery and restaurant as well as offering tastings, talks and events year round. Overwhelmingly beautiful without being intimidating, I visited Tarrawarra for a tasting earlier this year and found its staff helpful, polite and not at all fussed that I intended to try each and every wine on the tasting menu before committing to buy. Which I did. To delicious excess. Tarrawarra is particularly well known for its incredible Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays — so make sure you try these if you stop by for a visit — and the restaurant boasts a glamorous but laid back atmosphere which is delightfully at odds with what can be the sometimes stuffiness of this gorgeous area.

Tarra Warra is a hugely impressive winery with incredible views and a stunning art gallery. We were lucky enough to visit during the Archibald Prize. For anyone that doesn’t know, that is the prize for painting the best portrait of an Australian figurehead. The exhibition as you’d expect was fantastic with a huge array of artists and well-known faces on display. Our little mosey on into the wine tasting room was less enjoyable however. We maybe did look a little rough having cycled to the winery but even so you wouldn’t expect someone to be really strict on the number of wines you are allowed to taste and how expensive the wines you taste are. The gentleman who served only started being nice to us on the tasting floor once we’d expressed our desire to buy some wine. It seemed the only way for him to let us try more of their expensive range. We bought a bottle but were less than impressed by the service and the quality of the wines. I’d give the art gallery 5 stars but the winery would perhaps get a 2 or 3.

TarraWarra is one of the most beautiful wineries I have been to so far. It sits on top of a hill and over looks its vast land and surrounding vineyards. As soon as you drive into the estate you immediately know you’re in for a treat. Trees act as a frame on either side of the road as you drive up to a large parking area. Here there are two buildings with the most stunning and appeasing architecture, one is the TarraWarra art gallery, and the other is their restaurant. I have eaten here a few times and always find it a delight, probably because of the whole design of the place and the giant windows overlooking the landscape. Their food is of good quality and tasty, each waiter has excellent knowledge of wine and is able to recommend the best glass for your meal. It offers outdoor seating, and you are able to wonder their land freely. This is definitely a perfect Sunday lunch location for a special occasion.
