Bar Fino

There are two Bar Finos in the same building. I’ve had great coffee and bad coffee as well and that’s because of the barista. ³⁄₅ because of consistency issues.

Never again. The so called in-​house Sangria tasted like grape juice gone bad. The pig’s ears were almost burnt. BBQ chicken wings were good. I will never go again.
Empty tables on a weekend are a sign !

I used to come here years ago when I worked very close, it was busy then and is still busy all day now. The coffee used to be standout amazing but my last few experiences it has been about average, nothing wrong with it, but nothing which compels you to come here over anywhere else in the area.
The service is a little lacking too, I get that they are busy but there have been a few hints of attitude, and two food stuff ups when ive ordered simple things like toast.

My coworkers always come here for coffee. I tried their chai lattes once and they were just average, but their coffee is pretty top notch. They also have yummy gluten free brownies.

Every morning I would get an email at around 9am…“have you got your coffee?” or even just «coffee?». What this usually meant was getting a coffee at Bar Fino. When I was working near Martin Place six months ago, this was my coffee bar of choice due to strong consistent Campos coffee and the friands. My friend is still obsessed with them and gets one daily! Try and get the round one which is apparently homemade and not by an external caterer. The toast is also quite good.
The girls working there are always nice, considering the steely owner always seems to have an eye on them. I’ve haven’t had a bad experience in the years that I’ve been going there, even with the previous owner.
Also if not getting takeaway, its always nice to sit at the giant window facing Castlereagh St and watch the corporate world go by.
Recommended as the best coffee in Martin Place.

In the close proximity to Martin Place there are a tonne of cafes always ready to provide a quick shot of caffeine for the throngs of office workers. Bar Fino serves that purpose well. While not my favourite café in the area, it does rate pretty high in terms of consistently good coffee.
In fact, most people I take there quite enjoy it, which means yet again it is likely my somewhat overwhelming obsession with cafes not putting too much milk in my dbl macs that is ruining it for me. Location wise it is good, and the service is not shabby in the least, but I think being open to the concourse of people walking by makes the experience there feel a bit rushed.
If a quickie caffeine hit is what you’re after, give these guys a try.
