Yulli’s is in a great area, the food was AMAZING(I got the special that day), the waitresses were some of the nicest people I met while I was in Australia and it was totally booked when I got there but since I was eating by myself they let me order food from a small bar on the side. Would definitely recommend it!

Fun vegetarian spot with lots of vegan options. We went to Yulli’s for dinner and loved the Steamed Leek and Ginger Dumplings, the Salt and Pepper Tofu and the Tom Yum Fried Rice. We sat in the outdoor section and it was very pleasant during late winter with their space heater on. We arrived around 5PM on a Monday night, and it was completely empty, but when we left around 7:15 it was packed, so make a reservation unless you want to go early. This is also a perfect place for cocktails and share plates if you’re not ready for dinner. So great to see a cool, trendy and atmospheric vegetarian spot in Surry Hills.

Amazing vegetarian, vegan and gluten free restaurant. Food has LOTS of flavour! Great choice of different types of craft beers from Australia. Cute set up with fairy lights and tables out the back. Would recommend to anyone. I took my friend here who isn’t a vegetarian and she really enjoyed the food.

Came here on a double date and the ambience was perfect for this, but the food fell short in quantity and quality. Many dishes came out(they bring a plate to share with the table) and as I ate my small portion I kept searching for that dish that would wow me but it never happened. The food ranged from not very good to mildly tasty, but nothing memorable. For the price I expected more. The most memorable dish, and not in a good way, was the salt and pepper tofu. It seemed as though they forgot to season the food before it came out, but this blandness was an unfortunate theme with most of the dishes. It wasn’t terrible but I don’t see any reason to come here if you haven’t yet.

The chefs here are so creative with the menu that I forgot that I was eating vegetarian(who said vegetables have to be boring ?). I knew my taste buds would be in for a pleasant ride when the first entrées arrived from our banquet menu(tofu rice spring rolls and zucchini flowers). The different components of these dishes worked really well together(I still don’t know what the stuffing in the zucchini flower was but it was good) as well as the sauces that came with them — so much flavour going on ! I won’t go into every single other thing I ate from the banquet menu as there was a LOT(which by the way was just for a very reasonable price of $ 38pp only) but from Haloumi to Involitini to Vietnamese Crêpe to Felafel, Yulli’s draws inspiration from all types of cultures and creates excitement for its vegetarian dishes. Oh and for a vegetarian place, they have an extensive list of local brews on offer so a great place for beer lovers wanting to sample the local breweries of NSW. Bookings are highly recommended — it was extremely packed on the Friday I went and they had to allocate us a 90minute time limit for dining because it was so busy.

There are plenty of options to choose from and the entrees that we tried were amazing. I definitely recommend the money bags. The service was ok… They seemed to be very good at avoiding eye contact when they didn’t want to serve someone however when they do eventually get around to you they are relatively friendly. I found the mains to be a bit bland as was the desert although we only tried the sticky date. The coffee was, in a word, terrible. If I went back I would probably stick to the entrees. I would give it more stars but I really hate having to wave my hands around drastically to get the servers attention.

When I was told we were going to a vegetarian restaurant for the works christmas dinner I was very skeptical about this place. However this palace change my mind about vegetarian food; If I didn’t love steak and rib so much then they might of converted me to the vegetarian way of life. We were given plate after plate of entrees from fried tofu to stuffed vegetables all bursting with flavour. Which took away the need for a burger. The meal ended with a selection of sweet treat my favourite of these was the chocolate cake. I would recommend this to Non-Veggies and Veggies alike to eat here.

Ok, here’s the thing about this place, I feel like I WANT to like it more than i actually like it. Yes there are some really delicious dishes on the menu, and as a vegetarian having this much choice is always lovely, but there’s a bit of inconsistency here that stops me from giving this 4 stars. basically while some dishes are well priced for their size, others are a bit lacking. I went here with my parents and my dad/my mains were of a good size and tasty, but my mum got stiffed with a tiny portion even though her dish was supposed to be a main too, which left her a bit disappointed. The service was friendly on the occasions I have been there, but could have been a little faster I think. I would say this place is well worth a visit and especially good for sharing dishes, but at the same time you can get unlucky if you don’t choose your dish wisely. I really hope that improves, because as I say, I really WANT to love this place.

Yulli’s is an incredibly relaxed, friendly, beautiful modern vegetarian restaurant. Although it might appear a little small, it’s actually pretty comfortable inside, and never feels squashed(although it’s guaranteed to be busy, so bookings in advance are always a good idea). The food is always sumptuous and unique, with unusual and delicious flavour combinations that really delight the senses. I’m always surprised how full I get, but I just have to try *everything* on the menu — luckily most meals are made for sharing! As a life long vegetarian, I can safely say that this is the most amazing vegetarian restaurant I’ve ever been to, and anyone I’ve ever taken here(vegetarian or not) has adored it. Soft low level lighting(everyone looks better in low level lighting), awesome laid back tunes(records, and sometimes talented acoustic artists performing live), friendly(and attractive) staff, a surprising selection of interesting beers and beverages, and really truly extraordinary food make Yulli’s a must visit!

This place is a mix of music venue, bar and vegetarian restaurant. The first two are outstanding. The bands are eclectic and well curated, the drinks are excellent and the selection is ample. The food, however, is just O.K. Nothing memorable, and a few appetizers were borderline salty.

Coming here for the past two years, the only wish I have is for more frequent changes to the menu. Food, drinks, and service are always on point. On top of being a dedicated vegetarian joint, the combination keeps bringing me back in its own right.

Stumbled in to Yullis recently on a Sunday afternoon, after picking up the sweet strains of guitar and vocals from a muso positioned in the front window. Soon discovered the establishment was vegetarian, with competent and friendly service and some nice small plate offerings. A couple of wines by the glass and we saw out the set. Small crowd, but it didn’t distract. The vibe was still fine by me.

My favourite small bar in Sydney, by far. First went to Yulli’s for a friend’s birthday party, and have since gone back a number of times. They have an excellent range of vegetarian bar food. In fact, everything is vegetarian, but there is something for just about everyone. They have a focus on locally produced beer and wine. They have a large range of beer, all of which is sourced from microbreweries and is Australian owned and produced. Similarly their wine is all local, with a focus on small independent producers. It isn’t a very big place, and they do get very busy, so it is definitely worth calling ahead to make a booking, particularly if you want to eat, or if there are more than a couple of people in the party. The service is fantastic, and they will do their best to find a place for you even if you don’t, but sometimes it just isn’t possible.

I’m not normally a huge fan of hipster vego restaurants but this place couldn’t have been any better! 1 star down because there’s no coat rack and the outside heaters made it feel like I was eating on the sun’s surface.

I fluctuate between really liking Yulli’s and then just thinking it’s average and not that satisfying when I’m actually there consuming generally average food. Perhaps I’m drawn to it because of the vegetarian vibes, maybe I’m just that hipster who needs to look cool when eating too.

I’m a carnivore through and through, but this bustling vego wine bar is so good, you won’t even notice the absence of meat on the menu. The overhead neon feature casts an industrial illumine over interior proceedings. Artificial grass adds green quirk to the ‘yard bar’, and an exterior pacman theme takes me back to the eighties. The hearty menu reads like meat for vegetarians, but it’s hard to go past the share plates. Panfried haloumi with tomato and kiwifruit salsa($ 13.50); artichoke and goat’s curd arancini($ 12.50); zucchini fritters with fetta and dill dressing($ 12.50); steamed leek and ginger dumplings with fresh plum sauce($ 12.50). Salt and pepper tofu with green papaya and peanut salad($ 15.50). Wash it all down with an endless cascade of boutique bottled and tap beers. Over 30 hand crafted microbrewery brewskies to be exact… not to mention ciders galore. There’s a lot of heart in this joint… owned and run by husband and wife team Karl and Danielle. Cops a caning on weekends so be prepared to wait for a table. Head across the road to The Clock while you wait and they’ll buzz when you’re pacman table’s up.

I first sauntered into Yulli’s around lunchtime on a Thursday, looking for a crisp beer and light lunch. I grabbed a seat at their ever-inviting sofa near the door and took a browse though the menu. Carefully crafted, wonderfully inventive and, oh wait, vegetarian?! I was surprised, but not deterred. I’m not the gnaw-on-flesh type of girl, but do usually go for a bit of protein around midday. Despite, I ordered the Pear and Orange salad, which came accompanied by oak leaf lettuce, coral lettuce, tomato, cucumber, Spanish onion, avocado and a cranberry dressing. It was refreshing and crisp and although not totally fulfilling, did make a dent in my hunger. Most notable about Yulli’s is the beer menu. With brews from the local likes of Murray’s and 4 Pines, to some regional standouts like O’Brian from VIC and Little Brewing Company from Port Macquarie, the menu doesn’t hold back. I for one can never seem to get past the Cinnamon Girl Spiced Ale from St Peters Brewery, St Peters NSW. Being a) a girl who b) loves cinnamon, this is an obvious choice. It certainly is a mouthful(of flavor and hops), but hell, isn’t every good«girl» a little bit of a challenge?

A vegetarian paradise, Yulli’s is a fab restaurant offering tapas-style share plates which are meat free. Yulli’s is understated from outside but once indoors it has a warm inviting atmosphere and is the perfect place to kick back with wine and nibbles. If the weather is good try and get a table outback in the outdoor garden area, which has created a lovely atmosphere complete with fairy lights and brilliant astroturf on the walls. My tips are order the mixed chip plate and a bottle of wine while you read the menu and pick your dishes. I recommend the falafel plate, baby burritos and the pan-fried Haloumi. Personally I think Yulli’s could get away with changing its name to Yummi’s.
