Mr V Music is located on the Semaphore road stretch at no. 115. Yes that’s right he has moved further up the road from the previous address! A nice little music shop with copious amounts of both vinyl and CD’s all neatly organised in their appropriate genres. One thing that I particularly like is the amount of room around the shop that there is to move; it’s always nice having some space! The shop also stocks rare and collectible memorabilia towards the front counter but I was far to occupied looking through the sheer amount of quality vinyl in store. A fantastic range, the service was good and the gentleman was friendly but seemed a bit preoccupied with something else when I came to purchase what I had found. None the less, this was minor and I was extremely happy with what I had walked away with. Another great vinyl store in Adelaide, that stocks a great variety of both secondhand and new records and CD’s. Put this shop on your list of ‘go to’s’, there isn’t too many around this part of town!

I’m a sucker for a good vinyl store, and Mr V is a GOOD vinyl store. There are boxes everywhere with records, shelves of LPs & CDs, some tapes behind the counter and posters all over the back wall. The prices are very reasonable as well, with the average second hand LP being about $ 10. I was also surprised to find one of my favourite artists latest album on vinyl for $ 35. I had to snap that up! I didn’t even know it had come out on vinyl… If only I had more money I would have walked away with a lot of music. The owner was great and let me know about the latest acts coming to WOMADelaide. Absolutely brilliant service. There was also a girl walking past in a small bikini… well it is down from the beach. Things like that make me happy and I just have to mention them.

What I like best about this CD store is that there are second hand $ 5CD’s right out the front, which makes it very hard to go past! There were some really good CD’s available too, not just the stuff that nobody wants. I really like that there is a special section for the Womad performers, and I like that there are some cute local artworks on the wall. It’s not a very big store, and they don’t have the biggest range, but it’s still definitely worth having a look see to find something you could be interested in. They also have a large range of records available.

‘Mr V’(I don’t know his name so I will call him this) gave me the hairy eyeball for photographing the front of his store and I was worried when I walked in I’d get a few choice words. Instead he was very nice and wrote down the opening hours for me on a cool postcard. This place has a great collection of everything, especially indie and aussie hip hop. In the rear section is a huge area devoted to World Music, specifically Womad performers. It’s a huge range and I’m pretty sure every artist who’s every played there is stocked! The prices are really good, around twenty bucks average. The store is full of some really cool artwork on the walls as well. Mr V explained that a local dude who specialises in surf and street themed artwork supplies all the art. Worth checking out for the music and the artwork. I don’t know who you are Mr V but I like your style.
