Very friendly helpful store, quirky fun and different! Girl behind the counter went out of her way to help me with my purchase. And the sell minion socks! Super super excited!

Claris is a proud vintage store. Arcade 189 has a lot of character and this clothing store is what gives it a taste of history. With a gorgeous collection of old and new out the front, walking into the store is a solemn but exciting experience. The shop is a cleverly designed journey from new to old and back again. Delicate mirrors and dainty accessories outline the store with a solid wooden table showcasing some of the most enchanting(and modestyly sized 5 – 8) shoes I have ever seen!(Not being a shoe person naturally it takes something special to score a mention like that.) The space is small and fairly cramped, at certain places(like the counter) I felt a bit claustrophobic and had to keep moving to a more open space at the back. The clothing is cute and homes some trendy styles– A lot of the gear looked like it had been preloved and gone through a reinvention process, with badges, zips and ties affixed before attempting to hit the streets in it’s next life. I found a gorgeous steam punk kakii jacket for a $ 59 steal! The stock is different if nothing else, and you’ll find equally as much trash as treasure(spicegirl platforms being some of the more«shudder worthy» items.) The prices range between modest to ridiculous, but you would’t pay or it if you didn’t see the worth. Display pieces aren’t my cup of tea but if chimes, charms and ornaments float your gravy boat then Claris is for you. Claris is a dignified designer store reinventing the new by recycling the old.
