Glue

I always wrote Glue off as just another try-​hard skate store. One of those places that is so self consciously «street» that it’s all Vans, distressed denim and nose rings.
Well, I was wrong. Glue actually stocks some great everyday wear brands such as Motel, Urban Originals, One Teaspoon and Style Stalker. They also have an amazing array of jeans, that is so extensive you might even find yourself a little intimidated by the sheer range on offer.
A perfect place to grab some festival ready summer gear, Glue is a solid addition to Melbourne’s shopping scene.

Subculturally we’re not the best of friends and the one time I attempted to skateboard I fell off within mere moments.
It’s unsurprising then that surf and skate shops have never really been my thing. But finding myself living in skate/​surf central, Australia, has necessitated me letting my guard down to the odd ‘streetwear’ shop and Glue is definitely one of the least scary.
Stocking a range of denim, surf, skate and street wear by labels such as Urban Originals, Bettina Liano, Mavi Jeans, Ben Sherman and Lulu & Rose, Glue Store also stocks a great range of accessories by brands such as Casio and LeSpecs from a giant store in Melbourne Central.
I can’t quite get on board with Glue’s more street influenced fashions but it stocks a good range of classic items such as t’s and singlets and a great variety of denim.
Let me put it this way. If I was going out shopping with a spare $ 200 I’d go to Glue to stock up on some basics and then head elsewhere. A useful if unexceptional shop.
