Blends Café-Restaurant’s menu is problematic for me; there are SO many things I’d like to choose. The bacon and eggs? Big Breakfast? Pumpkin and rocket open sandwich? Raspberry and pear bread?
Choices, choices…
I ultimately opt for the «Breakfast Salad» (at midday. Don’t judge; I was hungover, ok?), which, to be honest isn’t overly breakfast-​y. But what it lacks in title-​related legitimacy, it makes up for in taste — amazing! When it arrives, I ask the waiter for some Hollandaise sauce, which the menu suggests is part of my dish.
When the sweet and shy seeming 16 year old returns with it, he apologises profusely, saying «The chef sends his person apologies.» Somewhat of an overreaction, he gets the smile of approval from my companion and I.
Aside from yummy and tempting food and endearing waiters, Blends Café Restaurant has a fair bit going for it. Located within Forestway Shopping Centre, it is licenced for wine — happy days! It also has a nice feel — busyish, but not too busy. Cozy, but not cramped. Local, with some innovative menu options. Well worth a visit!
