Every girl knows that it can take ages to find the perfect hairdresser… that elusive scissor aficionado that just «gets your hair»… amiright ladies? Lucky for me my search ended when I took the plunge to try this cool trendy hipster award winning salon. I’ve been a regular for years now and will never look back! Whilst not the cheapest in town you pay for the experience and it’s well worth it. Big ups to my faves Jules (owner) and MJ (senior stylist)… won’t let anyone else touch my locks :)

I’ve been looking for a decent hairdresser in Brisbane for a while — one that knows what style I’m after and that can match it.
I went on a Friday during my lunchbreak (booked just a day earlier) and had an appointment with MJ — she was brilliant in getting to know me, provided a shampoo and scalp massage, and explained why she was doing what techniques to my hair.
Gave me great advice on how to style and the other staff were also great with customer service.

The self-​professed ‘home of the shit hair cut’, aka Togninis is a fab and funky place to get your do done. Great colourists and stylists who know what they are talking about, affordable special deals and offers, and great central location all add to the aka Togninis experience. Chuck in an awesome open-​plan vintage chic décor and you’ll feel like you’re backstage at a national hair show.
I love the casual style and tone of their printed material and their $ 50 student haircuts (selected days only) which got me through uni without embarrassment.
The staff can sometimes come across aloof and snobby, which I don’t love, but once you warm them up they get past that ‘I’m a trendy hairdresser’ attitude and really do something fab with your hair. A really decent place to get a really decent cut and colour.
