I stopped in here for a dinner by myself while in Perth for work and rather enjoyed the meal. They have an extensive menu with many different types of meats, even vegetarian, for the burgers. And quite a few creations. The fries were also tasty as well.

Unfortunately not a good experience. Was in the mood for a great burger with chips and slaw. Was a quiet Sunday evening and the staff taking the order appeared unsure of herself. Ordered a tap beer but was told it was not working so opted for a bottles Pacifico. Food came and as I started to eat I saw several fruit flies/midgies around my food. At first thought it was the attraction to the food but then saw some come out of the bowl of slaw and several on the burger. I informed the order staff I could not eat this and I would prefer a refund on my food. She was very apologetic and refunded the entire meal including the beer. I suggested they have a good look at their kitchen as thus is a sign of infestation and lack of proper cleaning. :(.

As burger joints go, this one is a bit average to me. Their saving grace is a varied protein selection. Beef, chicken, lamb, etc. I come from America, so good burgers abound there. The best burgers are seasoned, juicy and hand-shaped. While Burger Bistro’s patties are juicy, they seem lacking in seasoning and look machine-shaped. I had the smokey burger on sourdough and it was filling, but a bit bland – didn’t really taste any smokiness either. My spouse had the El Mariachi chicken burger which was spicy and overall very good. Medium fries are huge and very tasty. In the CBD area, I will continue my search for an American style burger.

I have been posting on my Facebook saying I am getting tired of eating Asian food in Australia. They are everywhere in this country and I said I can’t wait to go back to the States and have a juicy burger. Bam! I found this burger joint. I was so excited and put on my work out outfit and off to have a burger. The Burger: I ordered the Captain America burger just because I was missing home and this looks like your typical juicy burgers in America. It was good! I think the bread was a ciabatta bread but I was not sure. The cheddar did taste a little different but I still loved it. Yummy The Strawberry Shake: Not for me. I ordered it with Soy milk and ice cream but the shake tastes watered down. It was not thick shakes. It was more like flavored milk. Now you get the idea. I’d skip on that. The Restaurant: It’s a very nice restaurant and it has that trendy look. They even have newspapers and fashion magazine to read while you are waiting for food.

The place seems to be new and trendy, quite popular with the CBD office lunch crowd. I had the emmental cheese burger, angus beef patty was juicy and cooked perfectly, garlic mayo was awesome but the relish a bit overpowering taking over the flavors, disappointed that did not taste much the swiss emmental cheese. Chips were hot and crispy. Service was fast and friendly. Emmental burger and side chips cost about $ 18.

Terrific fresh ‘Blue Steel’ burger served in a large airy space. Side of delicious chips(nicked a couple) accompanied the young bloke’s ‘American’ burger which also looked delicious. Coulda had a beer, but resisted. Busy place down the quiet end of the city. Perfect for lunch. Must have been reasonably priced ‘cos the young bloke paid. Joy.
