I love steak — I would eat it every night of the week if I could — and the best steak I’ve ever had was at Bob’s. This is a real American steakhouse. I don’t mean that in a sawdust and teeth on the floor kind of way, more in a classy, dark leather upholstery and subdued lighting kind of way. The service is impeccable and the staff are knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Back to the steak: the menu notes that their steaks are charbroiled at something like 1300 degrees, which explains the perfect crust you just can’t replicate at home. I had the cote de boeuf with peppercorn sauce and skillet potatoes and it was unbelievably good. Perfectly cooked. Absolutely worth it for special occasions, such as Tuesday.
