Monkey Mya Tequila Steak & Smokehouse

Australia doesn’t really do buffets or all-​you-​can-​eat type deals, so when my friend told me about Tuesday $ 20 all you can eat buffalo wings at Monkey Mya I had to check it out.
5 blokes showed up and we were promptly seated and quickly ordered the all-​you-​can-​eat wings. Each order comes with a beer too… can’t really beat chicken and beer. The ambience is pretty funky, a mix of Mexican taqueria and Spanish, and the food isn’t really indicative of either cuisine, it’s a mix and mash of a lot of things, hence the Steak & Smokehouse. On top of the wings we had a large order of onion rings and sides of guacamole.
The wings were decent sized and tasted pretty good, except they weren’t buffalo wings. They were wings with a slight spicy seasoning… we opted to get some bbq sauce to compensate for some flavouring.
The place wasn’t fully packed, but the service was lacking… there was just one guy serving all the tables. It took us a while to get our food as well as additional drinks. They could really do with another server for the night.
We went through 3 large plates and a small bowl before they ran out of wings… seriously, who has an all-​you-​can-​eat wing night where you run out of wings?!? We each had around 10 pieces (fat Americans ftw) and we were still a bit hungry. Thankfully they were gracious enough to only charge us 2 orders of wings instead of 5, so that was kind and fair of them.
The head chef has a propensity to get wasted as the night progresses (he comes out every once in a while to socialise,) so that can be a good thing or bad thing depending on how you look at it.
The food was decent, but running out of all-​you-​can-​eat wings and the poor service does this place a disservice.
