We went there last Saturday night. We have been to a few Nepalese places and this is up there with the best of them. I don’t know why Nepalese food is so cheap! We had 2 main dishes and 3 other extras for add on and entrée, all were delicious. Our waitress was from Pokhara, where we have fond memories of.

This place is just consistently great. The food is always amazing, the service friendly and pleasant. My partner and i have worked our way through the breakfast menu, we each have our favorite, but no matter which you choose, it is always perfectly cooked, good sized serving and well priced. Meals are served promptly, and look amazing. Try the Basecamp breakfast, very well priced, and leaves you nicely full.

It is one of our locals, and given a choice I will always choose Everest. The goat curry is the best, the dahl both black and yellow. To many excellent dishes to choose from.

Having had my first and the best goat curry in the mustang restaurant in crows nest Sydney, I’ve been on the hunt for goat curry that is on par in Perth. A friend recommended this restaurant and as such we decided to end our weekend with goat curry. What was served was over or under cooked goat meat that was tough. Fried crispy garlic naan. Momos with a yoghurt sauce(unheard of). And creamy saag paneer lacking in salt and spices. All dishes were disappointing and to add to it we waited 30 minutes for our meal on a Sunday evening. with only two tables(including ours) requiring service The menu was Indian rather than nepalese. So deceiving. Never going back.

Dropped in here early on Saturday evening(6pm) for a post football dinner, there were 3 tables without reservation tabs on them, which was a very good sign as I had not been here before. Small restaurant with the usual Indian /Nepalese fittings and very low lighting,(which when more people arrived was switched to a brighter level so you could read the menus) Friendly staff has us at a table for two with water and snacks before we even had out coats off. Started with the Chicken Momo(traditional dumplings of minced chicken and spices with homemade sauce) these are always a delight and a great way to start a meal. The serving had 5 little dumplings which was just enough as we all know Nepalese is filling and the eyes are always bigger than the tummy Chicken Butter Masala — the best butter chicken around, the tandoori flavour was really beautifully done and was there to taste, it didn’t just skip across the chicken never to be seen again. Special Goat Curry — the goat meat has the bone and is cooked with Nepalese herbs and spices in the traditional way. A very well balance dish with a hint of spice and a tomato base. Not too much hard work with the bones, but most goat curries have the bone so you know what you are dealing with. For those that don’t like game meats it might be a bit too much for you Goat but for the rest of us carnivores give it a try. Plan Naan was hot when arrived at the table, I could barely hold it long enough to dip in the butter chicken sauce. Jogi Rice — was the fluffiest rice I have had for a while(basmati rice cooked with REAL saffron) The restaurant by the time we had finished dining did not have a spare table, it’s a BYO and reasonably priced so for a nice meal out on the cheap I can see why it was busy. I will be returning

This little café by morning becomes a restaurant at night, we haven’t been at night yet but if the quality is in par with the breakfasts and lunches then I’m sure we won’t be disappointed. The breakfasts are your traditional aussie breakfast with a base camp breakfast being eggs(done your preferred way), toast, a grilled tomato, sausages, bacon and a hash brown, at only $ 14.90 that’s pretty good value(for Perth). They have quite a few other choices with even some sweet pounds like pancakes and French Toast with maple syrup. If you’re a little hungrier or it’s getting close to lunch they have a full selection of(open) sandwiches and wraps that are made fresh to order. The staff are always very friendly and there are often a number of newspapers around to have a flick through while enjoying your meal and a coffee. They use Rewardle to offer a loyalty reward to repeat customers, just scan your barcode on the tablet mounted near the cash register, enjoy free coffees when you have the points available. I must get there dinner one night to try the Nepalese cuisine and see how it compares.
