Had the $ 80 steak and my partner had $ 50 rump. It was over priced for what you got. The customer service was on point which is always nice. But it’s a turn off when you see the waiter picking his nose and not washing his hands rather gross just glad he wasn’t our waiter. 2 steaks, 3 sides, 2 bread rolls, rum and coke & a Coke Zero. $ 194.60

We had a long business lunch here this week and opted for the 150 $ signature steak with sides pre ordered. We had already had starters(oysters) which were excellent. The meat was perfectly cooked but the sides were just ok. Overall the food was above average and we had a nice wine selection too. However, the service was simply poor, we had to keep reminding our waitress to bring drinks /bread /condiments — whatever we asked for we had to remind her. A real shame as the venue was nice and the food good, but for the price I expect a bit more attention from the wait staff

If you like dripping blood undercooked meat patty this is the place for you. The snotty condescending service is in line with the quality of the meal.

My mom and I visited this wine bar months ago and it was a wonderful experience. Gavin was our bartender and he introduced my mother to a wonderful glass of Chardonnay and a decadent Shiraz for me. He then recommended a cheese plate for us, specially composed to compliment our wines, and he was right. He was wonderfully kind to us tourists, and we even caught up with him later that night and he showed us around. He gave us tips for our stay in Brisbane and his recommendations were exactly what we wanted. The ambience here is interesting, and the downstairs(main restaurant) is very cool as well. It’s a place to have a nice work meeting or a special drink, because prices are more expensive. I’d recommend a single drink here, but the prices are too expensive for more than that. Also, not a nightclub or classic bar, definitely a wine bar.

We were given a voucher for Christmas and decided to take our teenage daughter out for a lovely night of 5 star dining as all of the reviews had prepared us for. Had to book ahead and being prepared is not usually one of my strong points so this was definitely going to be an experience. Now my wife is a steak connoisseur and to say she hard to dazzle is an understatement… However the entire evening was wonderful. The Décor is beautiful, the wine menu is and we had some great help through the menu and tried a couple of different complementing wines. I had a rib on the bone aged for 55 days that was incredibly tasty, my wife and daughter the rib eye, which they could not fault. The desserts were as pretty as they were tasty. We will definitely be going back here again.

An excellent eating experience in a beautiful setting. It goes without saying the meat cuts were of the very best quality and the wine list was certainly one of the best I have seen. The service was excellent and a credit to the establishment. The deserts were just fantastic and decadent. Whilst a little expensive this is the place to go for a truly memorable experience.

We had dinner at Moo Moo tonight and it was an outstanding experience. The main course was truly excellent — we had the F1 steak — although we thought the side dishes were average and the dessert(brownie) was good, it didn’t blow us away, but hey, it’s a brownie. What made the experience 5 stars was our waiter, Dave. He took a huge amount of effort to help us make a decision and did so with a theatrical air that was a 5 star performance, even offering to go down the street and buy us cigars if we wanted to partake in the smoking section afterwards(we declined and had them at home instead, but the fact that he offered was outstanding). We sat on the deck and had a great view of the street. The wine was excellent(again, Dave’s recommendations) as was the after dinner port and my wife’s mocktails. It cost a fortune but was truly a terrific experience and we all raved about it afterwards.

I got given a voucher to go here as a present, and ended up taking my teenage son along with me. It was a real experience for both of us. The atmosphere was elegant and the food was completely delicious. We felt well taken care of with attention to detail. We had the 1kg steak(which they carved at our table) and needed some of the pieces cooked a little more. When they brought the freshly seared pieces back to the table they remembered I had mustard on my plate and brought over the relishes for me to choose from again without asking. My water glass was refilled within seconds of me setting it on the table and everything smelled and looked fantastic. The blue cheese on the salad was rich and the maple syrup on the dutch carrots with roasted almonds… mmmMMMMmmmm!!! What a wonderful experience… I rave about it to friends and would definitely go again.

WORSTSERVICE I have experienced in Australia! My Japanese host parents came to visit and my host father is a steak connoisseur. He wanted to have a nice steak dinner one evening so we were in search of a place that would hopefully be up to his standards. A few friends recommended this place so we booked a reservation. The area of town is nice and we were able to find parking right across the street. The weather was wonderful too. We were seated in a private area which was one of the best parts of the evening. Our waiter came by and introduced himself. We told him about our host parents visiting from Japan. He then went on to tell us that he’s been going back to Japan for about a month for the past decade or so. Wonderful we thought! For someone who visits Japan enough, he has not picked up any cultural intelligence along the way. He could say a few words in Japanese. My host father asked if we could see the different meat cuts prior to ordering. I didn’t know we could do that! They brought out all the different cuts they serve on a wooden board. I liked hearing my host father describing the different types of cuts and marble quality. They took it away shortly after but not before reprimanding my host mother not to touch the meat. I’m certain that you don’t need to understand someone’s language to understand a demeaning tone. I couldn’t believe they would feel that they needed to say that when the guests are no amateurs when it comes to this department. When he returned to take our order, he was shockingly impatient! I mean, you could clearly tell and he wasn’t hiding his«please hurry up and order now. i don’t want to wait on you any longer even though I have been here just a few minutes’ face. I couldn’t believe his behavior and how unprofessional he was. He is the rudest waiter I have encountered since moving to Brisbane. We even asked him for his recommendations and suggestions and he didn’t share anything insightful. He just wanted us to order and be done with it. He was very short with us. We decided to order a few sides and share them with our steaks as nothing comes with the steak. Nothing. You pay $$$ for the steak alone. I would think the service was included in the price but not our evening. He hardly came to check on us. Our waters were never refilled. Another wait staff assisted and brought out some of our sides. After finishing our meals, we ordered desserts and they forgot to bring out one of our desserts. When no one came by for ages, we were wondering what had happened. Our waiter didn’t apologize and didn’t treat us with any respect. The only thing he brought anything out quickly was when we asked for the bill. I felt really terrible about bringing my host parents here. I was really looking forward to a memorable evening and it wasn’t memorable but in all the wrong ways. The experience here was downright awful. The steaks were good. We had two F1 Wagyu Rump Cap Steaks, Rib Eye on Bone, and I believe a Flat Iron. If you wanted sauce with it, you needed to pay $ 3.6 each or $ 9.9 for 3. Most of the sides were nice as well. The portion sizes were quite small. We had the wild rocket, fig vincotto, and parmesan salad, broccolini with vegetables, chilli, butter, and garlic, wagyu fat nicola potatoes with garlic, thyme, and rosemary, and cauliflower florets. You can order each dish individually that range from $ 5 to $ 11.5 or 3 for $ 23! The food bumped it up to an overall 2 instead of 1. I walked out thinking what a shame that we had the rudest waiter in the entire city. I couldn’t even discuss the meal as much because my experience was so poor. Learn how to treat your customers properly.

Beautifully decorated and extremely high quality of standards and professionalism. The restaurant is let down badly by the seating arrangements and doesn’t cater well for conversation, with the tables being too long. Food was nice but certainly not in line with the prices charged.

I love a good steak and if I get the craving Moo Moo’s is where I go. The steak is not cheap but that’s why I go there regularly. With plenty of options from $ 40-$ 80 or more there are no bad choices. Do yourself a favor, put that tired, chewy steak down and head over to Moo Moos!

Contrary to what previous posters have written, Moo Moo is actually very friendly to lacto-ovo vegetarians. I’ve been there 4 or 5 times, and never once had trouble finding enough delicacies to satisfy my tastes! Just last night my husband and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary at Moo Moo, and the food was perfect. We began with our usual starters of polenta rolls, with special carrot salsa and butter for me, and Moo Moo jus for him. Apparently it’s great, but not veggie so it’s off-limits for me. Anyway, the bread was fresh and fluffy, and not too heavy. Our entrée was the zucchini florets with mozzarella, and the combination of crunchy veggie with gooey cheese was seasoned to perfection. We split 3 sides, and our choices reflect that we were craving starch. Shoestring fries with parmesan, black truffle mashed potatoes, and green beans with some excellently creamy spicy sauce made for delectable breaks from our main courses. I had the fazzoletti pasta with mushrooms, which never fails to disappoint. The pasta is cooked perfectly, and the mushrooms have that slightly beefy texture that lends substance to the overall dish. My husband chose the Flat Iron 250g tenderloin, which is apparently replacing something else on the menu. He had it done medium rare, and from the fact that he practically licked the plate I’ll assume it was to his satisfaction. In a first, we ordered the hot fudge sundae for dessert. If you want ooey-gooey chocolatey heaven with a side of delicately-flavored vanilla ice cream, get this dish. Our service last night wasn’t as perfect as it has been in times past(where did Stephanie go? She knew us by name and remembered us even after 3 or 4 months away!), but Moo Moo earns every one of its 5 stars in this rating due to the consistently great food. i’m not even going to get into the wine list, as it’s too extensive, but I’m sure that alone tells you everything you need to know. Bottom line is this: Vegetarian brethren, do not fear if anyone suggests Moo Moo to you! You won’t leave hungry, and your tummy will profoundly appreciate the chef’s meat-free efforts. The only caveat is to look away if you’re squeamish about raw meat as they lead you to your table. As others mentioned, there’s a whole wall memorializing dead cow to your left as you enter the seating area. Just look into the kitchen and save yourself from the carnivore’s favorite view.

In a city of $ 2 steaks Moo Moo is quite a different dining experience with their cheapest steak at a whopping $ 38. This is not the place for anyone who can’t handle a rich, heavy slab of beef. Not being a massive carnivore myself, I can’t really comment on the quality of the steak. I did try some of the Moo Moo’s signature 1kg rump roast but found it a bit chewy and thought it could have been better for $ 50 a head though the side dishes were amazingly good. They had run out of the chicken breast the night I visited and as I can’t eat seafood and wasn’t feeling like a steak there really wasn’t much too choose from. My wagyu beef lasagne that I opted for was no Italian inspired pasta dish. It was simply layers of pasta, wagyu beef mince and cheese and I couldn’t get through more than a few mouthfuls. It was full of great flavours, it was just so heavy and rich that I couldn’t eat it. I was a little disappointed in myself for not being able to finish $ 31 dollars worth of lasagne. I was also unimpressed by the hour and a half waiting time between being seated and getting our food. Having had our booking pushed back from 8pm to 9pm, we didn’t get to eat until 10:30pm. The wait staff were really good though, very laid back for such an upscale restaurant. They were around regularly to take orders and plates and were surprisingly cheery for so late with jokes and friendly chats. Moo Moo seems like a fantastic place if you have plenty of spare cash and you’re a steak lover but if you’re more into chicken than cow I’d give it a miss.

There’s a photo of my girlies and I straddling the golden ox outside Moo Moo testament to yet another inebriated Friday evening. It was lucky that we weren’t caught because I enjoyed this wine bar and would like to go back in the future. Moo Moo is a carnivorous cavern filled with Wagyu steaks, ribs and sirloin with the arbitrary serving of vegies. Needless to say this is not a vegetarian friendly place. When my friends and I went, we ordered the ‘Carnivores Dining Delight’ which came with a char-grilled, roasted rump with salad, kipfler potatoes, olives, chorizo and sauces. There were five girls but we easily shared the $ 140 serving which was recommended for three people. It’s a tasty feast but it does take 55 minutes to prepare. While I thoroughly enjoyed my evening, Moo Moo is too expensive for regular visits — even their wines are the upper limit of what I would pay in the CBD. At best, Moo Moo is an occasional, special treat.

If you’re in any way opposed to eating meat, stay far away from Moo Moo. I’m not a vegetarian, but the overt meatiness of the place is almost enough to make me turn. This isn’t one of those restaurants that tries to make you forget that steak comes from real cows. From the name to the entryway, where a statue of a cow guards the door, to the displays of meat in cabinets as you go up the stairs, there’s no fooling around. If that doesn’t deter you, the food itself is pricey but excellent. It’s not just steak either, with a heap of other meats and seafood on the menu. Before your meal have a drink at the bar and enjoy the ambient lighting and capable bartenders.
