Horrible tasting! Has changed ownership and seriously gone downhill. Not even close to anything authentic. Bad customer service and very expensive. We ordered 3 quesadillas. The pulled pork and potato had sweet pineapple in it… Gross! The zucchini had mushrooms only(how can you mess that up right?) the beef and black bean was soggy! To make things worse they are putting pico de gallo(which they call salsa, you know that yummy tomato red onion coriander side that you find next to the sour cream and guacamole everywhere else on the planet) …well they’re putting that INSIDE the quesadilla which basically gives you hot tomato and raw onion quesadilla. Ewww totally inedible. I contacted these guys through Facebook to what I would call«help» their lost cause for serving Mexican food. Their only response was to say thanks for the feedback, better luck next time you order! Really? What pathetic customer service. Our family has been in the catering industry for years and let me tell you, when a customer has spent $ 47 on 3 small items and you serve them up crap, and they inform you, the first thing you do is apologise and offer to either replace their meal or refund their money! That is customer service. Not only have they lost our business but I will be spreading the word of warning to my family and friends of our horrible experience. The worst part about this is that we ate there when the truck first opened up and it was great! The original owners were great and knew how to cook. Pity about now…

Great company and super tasty food! Well priced and super quick order. The people running the van are always friendly and chatty. The van just recently changed hands from what I know and seems better then it used to be. Only issue is the food sizes aren’t that big. Probably the equivalent of a sandwich for about $ 6. Still awesome though… Just order 2.

I had to come here and remove a star :( I went to these guys at fork on the road and ordered my favourite vege tacos no dairy! The staff were as friendly as ever and the smell coming from the van was delicious. The only issue was the meat in my vege taco, I took it back once and said I thought there was chicken in my vege taco they had a look and said it was probably mushroom, I then cut it in half to double check and it was all bloody and meat like. So I took them back and they made me new vege tacos. I got two and mine was vegie but my partners had a few pieces of chicken which was disappointing, I’ve never had this before here I’m not sure if they were busy and mixing items on the grill but I left a bit uneasy. This is still my favourite taco joint in adelaide though, the sauce is spicy the guacamole creamy avocadoy and delicious. The wraps are also cooked to perfection!

Something something smoked chicken, something something spiced pork or beef and blackbean all wrapped up in a soft taco. La Cantina’s menu is hardly easy to describe nor did I know half of the ingredients featured in each soft taco but when meat is described to you as «smoked» or «spiced» I’m already ordering 4. This bright orange truck has been very prevalent on weekdays throughout the city, serving up soft tacos only to the public at $ 5 each or $ 9 for 2. You can follow them on Twitter or Facebook for locations each day. They seem to have made friends with Raw Thirst and Burger Theory so be prepared to make a difficult choice if they are also around on the day. Arguably I couldn’t choose and justified that having a Raw Thirst Alkaliser Juice meant I could have a not so healthy taco for lunch. I chose the Vegetarian(Zucchini, Mushroom and Corriander) and Smoked Chicken with Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream and Corriander). I didn’t make friends with salad that day as I found the Vegetarian to lack a certain kick — great if you don’t like spicy food. This is probably also because the Smoked Chicken overpowered every bite of my Vegetarian taco with so much oomph, spice and smokiness that I was shouting«arriba, arriba, underlay, underlay,» from the food truck! Note: If you have any kind of appetite you will want 2, maybe 4 tacos as they are only served half size. The service is fantastic and quick with a wonderful little crew happily cooking away in the truck. Unfortunately the van seems to have come from the 1980’s and continuously pumps out petrol fumes while you’re waiting for your food. It’s a shame because I’m sure the smell from the cooked meats would be shining through if this wasn’t the case.

Cantina Co are the newest food truck to hit the streets. Their launch took a while, with truck problems always being the bane of any mobile food vendor. But now they’re out on the streets selling tacos & Mexican sodas at spots all over Adelaide. I’m out of the city Monday-Friday for most of the day, which means it’s pretty hard for me to chase these guys down. But thankfully a Friday morning city commitment meant I could pop down to see them. At the time there were 3 taco options available, beef, pork, & vegetarian. They’re $ 5 each or 2 for $ 9, which is a pretty reasonable deal and in line with most fixed place Cantinas in Adelaide. I enjoyed both of mine(the beef with black beans, & the mushroom and zucchini). My only complaint would be that I felt there was a bit too much going on with them. I would have loved some more defined flavours. They were nice to eat, but they didn’t blow my mind. Their truck is bright and colourful, easy to spot, so keep an eye out. They’re definitely worth trying, and I’m sure they’ll just get better over time. If you buy a Mexican soda make sure you have a bottle opener or get them to open it for you, these aren’t screw tops.
