Hotel – Gasthof Mauthäusl

This hotel is a hidden gem. It is around somewhere in the mountains of Germany and I think you can easily get lost trying to find this place. I absolutely enjoyed my 1 night stay here at this hotel with the tour group back in April 2011. It’s a very cute hotel and it has a homey feeling. The rooms were big. But, I remember the heater wasn’t keeping our room warm enough even though we set it to high. So, I had to wear a cardigan to sleep that night. The shower head wasn’t running a strong flow of water.
The dinner here was great. We got unlimited salad. The salad was so fresh and I think they used hydroponic lettuce. We also got carrot&orange soup. It was so good. At first glance of the soup, my relatives and I were guessing lobster bisque or a squash soup. The waiter told us it was carrot&orange soup. I got the fish entrée (cod stuffed with salmon) with some rice. It was delicious! My parents got the pork with mashed potato entrée. We also got some ice cream for dessert. Boy, I was stuffed after dinner! We got to eat at their breakfast buffet the next morning. There were bread, deli meats, cereal, etc.
I would come back to this hotel. I had a great stay here.
