When the trains run well in Europe, it’s amazing, when they don’t… you get stuck in the little town of Osnabrück hoping your next train comes quickly. This train station is a bustle with people changing trains and heading in multiple directions. This little restaurant is basically the choice unless you just want a bakery item to tide you over until your train comes. You order via picture, unless you know German and what all the different meals are except for schnitzel… They attempt to understand what you are blathering at them in English and deliver you meal as best they can! I went with something that turned out to be a grayish stuff, in a square fried package, with some slaw and thousand island dressing. Pretty tasty. As it appears is typical in germany my food products overwhelmed the size of the bun — but really — is that a bad thing? That’s what napkins are for when you are done! Make sure you know what your meal comes with — i ordered fries on the side when i realized, by sandwich, that is all they meant. Ketchup and mayo costs extra. Soda is in the fridge by the side. It filled me up for the last 3 hour leg of our trip back to amsterdam. But it is what it is, a little underground place to get something to curb your appetite!
