Ich kenne den Pub nun schon seit über 10 Jahren und gehe immer mal wieder gerne hin.
Im Winterhalbjahr gibt es an den Samstagen oft Live-​Musik von Künstlern hier aus der Region. Die Qualität ist unterschiedlich, dies dürfte aber in allen Pubs so sein.
Freitags gibt es regelmäßig Whiskey-​Tasting, wobei ich aber noch nicht daran teilgenommen hatten.
Getränke und Speisen sind günstig, allerdings sollte man bei den Speisen nun auch keine Wunder erwarten. Für einen Pub finde ich sie vollkommen ok, zum «gut Essen» würd ich aber nicht hingehen.
Die Einrichtung ist schon teilweise sehr mitgenommen, aber es ist soweit sauber.
Negativ muss ich aber den Zustand der (Herren-)Toiletten anmerken.
Diese könnten man mal renovieren bzw. sanieren.
Aber wer einen netten Abend bei guter Live-​Musik verbringen will, ist dort richtig.

I have been to the place only four times and I loved it. A genuinely, spontaneously, unpretentiously, and, effortlessly Irish pub, apart from the customers which are Germans (of course). One of those places you pop in for a drink and leave not remembering how many you had at closing time, this not suggesting it is a place for boozers. It is a bit far from the centre but it is always good having some walk after your eight or so pints.

The Old Shillelagh has a lot to offer customers. Good food, beer and live music every Saturday night. It is a bit out of the centre of Nürnberg but it’s not such a long walk from Muggenhof U-​Bahn station. Friendly staff too!
