Eines muss man den Barkeepern lassen, Drinks können die Jungs ziemlich gut. Jedenfalls besser als in den meisten anderen Bars auf St Pauli oder auf der Schanze.
Leider halten sich die Barkeeper selbst auch für so geil wie ihre Drinks, dafür müsste es eigentlich mindestens 3 Punkte Abzug geben. Etwas weniger Arroganz und Coolness wäre sympathischer.
An Wochenenden oder auch mal Donnerstags kann es schon ziemlich voll in der Bar und davor werden. D.h. mann muss sich auf ein wenig Wartezeit an der Bar einstellen.
Der Klassiker der hier am liebsten getrunken wird, ist der Moscow Mule — hmmm lecker.
Die Bar ist ganz klar der Eyecatcher im gesamten Laden. Die sonstige Einrichtung und das Mobiliar eher billig-​abgerockt.

Die beste Gin-​Empfehlung seit langem hab ich hier bei einem späteren Besuch bekommen.
Das entschädigt dafür, dass es oft überfüllt ist!

Wer mit verrauchten Bars nichts anfangen kann, braucht gar nicht weiterlesen und kann den Laden vergessen, denn wenn man hier wieder rausgeht, riecht man ordentlich. Hier wird geraucht und das nicht zu wenig. Ich könnte auch gern drauf verzichten. Wenn da nicht die guten Drinks und das nette Publikum wären. Leute sind echt entspannt hier und man kommt relativ schnell ins Gespräch. Einrichtung ist ranzig, aber nicht unangenehm. Eine der Bars, in die ich gerne regelmäßig gehe und jedem nur empfehlen kann.

Schön war die Räumlichkeit und der Platz den man hier hatte, aber anscheinend haben wir einen schlechten Abend erwischt, wenn ich die anderen Bewertungen so sehe.
Wir sind gestern gegen 2.00 hier rein geschneit, um in Ruhe bei Getränken reden zu können. Die Musik und Location waren super dafür.
Allerdings waren die Jungs hinter der Bar unsympathisch und die Jungs vor der Bar schienen diese als «pick up place» für betrunkene Frauen zu halten. Die Gespräche, die man verfolgen konnte waren nicht so schön.
Mit der 2.50 € Coke *0.3 ging’s dann zurück auf die Couch und nach einer halben Stunde fing der Aufräumdienst bei Betrieb an.
Tische abwischen, aschenbecher weg nehmen und die Tische umgedreht auf die Couch stellen.
Ja, sehr gemütlich.
Den Wink mit dem Zaunpfahl sind wir dann auch gefolgt und haben den Laden das erste und letzte Mal verlassen. Schade, gern wären wir noch länger geblieben.

Eine entspannte Bar in St. Pauli, wie ich finde. Dort ist es nicht abgehoben, die Jungs hinterm Tresen sind nett und der Laden ist dafür, dass dort geraucht werden darf, erstaunlich wenig verqualmt. Endlich mal jemand, der bei Raucherlaubnis auch an Belüftung gedacht hat…
Man sitzt auf bequemen Sesseln und Sofas und kann genüsslich seinen Highball schlürfen. Wir hatten am Wochenende den lustigen Einfall, mit 7 Mädels Crémant zu bestellen. Steht auf der Karte! Einen Moment hat es gedauert. Das lag nicht daran, dass es keinen Crémant gab — die 7 Sektgläser waren das Thema. Am Ende waren wir sehr individuell — jeder mit einem unterschiedlichen Sektglas in der Hand. Ist also keine Mädchen-​Kneipe :-)
Fazit: Service echt nett! Denn trotz der durch uns verursachten Suchaktion, die ein bisschen Zeit gekostet hat, gab es kein murren, sondern ein freundliches Lächeln und eine Entschuldigung, dass wir einen Moment warten mussten. Eine schöné Anlaufstelle, wenn man am Ende des Abends (Nacht) noch einen entspannten Drink genießen möchte.

I’m visiting Hamburg for the first time and found Luba Loft based on its already high Unilocal reviews. I happen to come on a quiet night and figured I’d have one drink and move on. Two hours later and I’m still here due to the quality of the drinks (Laphroaig based for you scotch lovers) and welcoming nature of the bartenders. If you’re not a scotch fan, then try the Gin Basil Smash. I’ll never waste basil on sauce again.

Nette kleine angeranzte Bar, so Berliner Stil: guter Service/​schlechte Toiletten, gute Cocktails/​abgenutzte Sitze, stylische Beleuchtung/​etwas versnobte Kundschaft.
Preise für HH Verhältnisse noch in Ordnung.

Cocktails sind teuer, aber immerhin gut.
Ansonsten: Ziemlich nerviger Laden! Selten ein so überfordertes Thekenpersonal gesehen. Um bedient zu werden, muss man pro Drink 10 Minuten Zeit mitbringen — oder né Frau sein.
Bleibt eine einmalige Erfahrung.

Meiner Meinung nach gibt es hier sie besten Cocktails, dazu ist das Ambiente sehr gemütlich! Top!

Die letzten Besuche hier, waren nicht mehr allzu berauschend. Die Drinks sind seit dem Weggang vom Herrn Braun, der jetzt im Good Old Days serviert. nicht gerade besser geworden und die Aufmerksamkeit der oftmals arrogant wirkenden Barkeeper auch nicht. Immernoch 3 knappe Sterne, aber auf keinen Fall eine Top Bewertung mehr.

Samstag Abend, es dünkt einen nach feinen Getränken, die Empfehlung der Ortskundigen heisst: Luba Luft.
Dort vorstellig geworden und die Lokalität in Augenschein genommen, und der mutmaßliche Gang der Konzeptüberlegung für die Inneneinrichtung springt einem ins Auge: Bude komplett entkernen, Tapete im Retro-​Look an ausgewählte Wände, dann eine Reihe alter abgesessener Sofas rein und mit möglichst wenig Kerzenlicht beleuchten, fertig ist die Laube. In einem Wort: gemütlich!
Der Barkeeper scheint eine gewisse Reputation zu genießen und dies zurecht! Er bietet eine Auswahl gleichermaßen klassischer wie ausgefallener Getränke an, die liebevoll und fachkundig zubereitet werden! Das nette Personal steht auch beratend zur Seite, sofern man sich nicht entscheiden kann. Ob Basil-​Smash schon wieder out ist, mögen Kenner beurteilen, aber dort schmeckt er erfrischend! Bei schönem Wetter steht draußen eine Reihe von Tischen und Bänken parat, auf dass man sich dort niederlasse und einen schönen Abend verbringt.
Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ich bin genervt von Eurer Attitüde, liebes Luba Luft!
Als ich vor längerer Zeit hier war, und einen Cocktail mit Gin, Ginger und weniger Alkohol als normalerweise bestellt habe (ganz genau weiß ich nicht mehr, was es war), habe ich ungefragt ein Ginger Beer in die Hand gedrückt bekommen, mit der Ansage, weniger Alkohol geht nicht.
Ist eine Ansage, ihr seid die Barkeeper, ich finde eure Drinks lecker, und habe das so hingenommen, auch wenns mich genervt hat.
Gestern Abend habe ich nach einer Empfehlung gefragt, ich wollte gerne was Neues ausprobieren, nicht sauer, ohne Eiweiß und nicht alkoholstark.
Ich habe eine relativ genervte Antwort bekommen, das sei jetzt zu wenig Information.
Was denn nun? Ich erwarte entweder eine höfliche Nachfrage, oder eine Empfehlung, Ihr seid die Barkeeper!
So gerne ich hier bin, so lecker ich die Drinks finde, darüber hab ich mich fürchterlich geärgert, und das war mir eineinhalb Sternchen Abzug wert.

Ich trinke gerne Whiskey Sour. Das ist der Cocktail auf den ich immer zurückgreife, wenn mich nicht gerade ein anderer anspringt. Der Whiskey Sour im Luba Luft ist richtig gut. Ich mag es auch, dass die Cocktails hier nicht mit Palmen und Schirmchen und kiloweise Früchten bestückt werden. Und es macht auch richtig Spaß den Jungs beim mischen zuzuschauen. Zwar wartet man gerne mal eine Weile, bis man seine Bestellung abgeben kann, aber nicht störend ätzend lange.

Great bar for casual drinks! I’ll just repeat every other person when I say that they have amazing Moscow Mules. If you’ve never tried them this is the place for the first time taste. The place itself is very comfy and nice, more like a lounge than a bar. A good spot off the beaten path where you can just relax, enjoy your drink and talk with a friend.

Famous for two things: Whiskey sours and Moscow Mules. Didn’t get a chance to try the mules, but they’re properly served in copper mugs, which is pretty rare.
The whiskey sour was excellent — some smoky heat from the spirit, some tang from the lemon, and some lightness from the (optional) egg whites.
On a Friday night, we found Luba Luft full but not overcrowded; there wasn’t any room to spare, but you didn’t feel like sardines.
Definitely my favorite cocktail bar in Hamburg — I’ll have to sample the mule next time.

Besuch am Samstag Abend:
— überall Raucherbereich, daher sehr stickige Luft
— gemütliche Bar mit Sofabereichen (wie im Wohnzimmer)
— Wasser (mit Gurkenscheiben) gibt es umsonst
— bekannt für Moscow Mule im Becher
— gute Musik
— die Bar schließt etwa zwischen 2 und 3 Uhr?
— Preise durchaus hoch

Only two, I repeat two, sorts of beer! It’s still Schanze, after all!
But that’s my only complaint :) The place is cool, full and in trend. Cocktails, interesting people, good music all you need to start your night out.

Das Luba Luft gehört definitv zu Hamburgs wahren Cocktailbars, die einen sehr authentischen Charm verspüren. Ich war einmal gegen 22h da. Es war recht voll. Aber das war überhaupt kein Problem für den Service. Selbst in einer großen Gruppe wurden wir keineswegs gehetzt am Sofa-​Tisch abserviert sondern sehr entgegenkommend «beraten». Fern ab von der proppevollen Schanze kann man sich hier entspannt zurücklehnen. Und rumgepanscht wird hier sicher auch nicht, was man schon an der sehr vorzüglichen Cocktailkarte und den exquisiten Cocktailgläsern sehen kann. Eine Hamburger Bar mit absolutem Schirm, Charm und Gurke (im Moscow Mule) ;) Wüsste nicht was man dort besser machen könnte und muss unbedingt mal wieder hin— Cheers

Das Luba Luft gehört für mich zu den besten Cocktail Bars der Stadt. Warum? Ganz einfach. Die Cocktails sind wirklich gut. Wenn man einen Cocktail bestellt, bekommt man auch einen und keinen Longdrink mit ner Scheibe Orange und nem Partyhütchen drin, der einem dann als Cocktail angedreht wird. Nein, hier ist alles so wie es sein soll, inklusive feiner Gewürze und Aromen.
Mein Lieblingsdrink ist hier der Moscow Mule. Der kommt standardgemäss mit Gurkenscheiben, aber auch irgendeiner zusätzlichen Zutat die ich bisher noch nicht identifizieren konnte. Auf jeden Fall schmeckt das Ding perfekt. Serviert wird das ganze in einem Zinn (?) Becher für den extra Style-​Punkt. Apropos Style, die Bar an sich ist kann sich auch sehen lassen. Eine gelungene Mischung aus alt und neu, mit abgewetzten Sofas, Barock-​Tapete und unverputzten Wänden. I like!
Wenn man als Gruppe kommt sollte man übrigens relativ früh erscheinen um sich noch eine der grossen Sitzecken zu sichern. Ab 20 Uhr gehts los und Cocktails beginnen bei ca. 6,50 €.

Würde ich nur die Cocktails bewerten, wären das vier Sterne, aber der Barkeeper hat’s etwas vermasselt. Und das kam so:
In der Luba Luft-​Bar bestellt man normalerweise an der Bar (obwohl etwas später auch ein Typ rumlief und sporadisch Bestellungen aufgenommen hat). Ich also an die Bar. Da dort keine Karte stand, fragte ich den Barkeeper danach. Der meinte nur: «Ganz ruhig! Kommt erstmal an, relaxt erstmal.» Hä? Dann hat er uns ein Gurkenwaseser aufs Haus hingestellt. Dann die Karte. Bestellung aufgegeben. Irgendwann fing er dann auch mal gemütlich an, die Cocktails zu mixen. Alles in allem kam er sehr arrogant rüber, sogar ein bisschen von oben herab, sodass ich mich direkt nicht wohl fühlte.
Wir hatten dann den Gin Basil Smash und eine ähnliche Variante mit Himbeere für 9 bzw 8 €. Die waren echt super! Bin eben gerade direkt auf die Suche nach dem Rezept gegangen. Dann kann ich die Cocktails auch ohne zickigen Barkeeper nachmixen ;)

How comes I still have not reviewed Luba Luft!!! Let’s make it plain and simple from the beginning: that’s my favourite cocktail bar in St Pauli and Hamburg. They have a good choice of cocktail to chose from but if you are not sure about what you want just ask the Barkeepers, they usually can give you some pretty good tips and they could even create something just for you. Just to not be too biased, I must mention a few things that I don’t like as much as the cocktails: 1) (usually) music, 2) smoking inside is allowed. 1) is usually a indispensable requisite for me in order to really like a place, the fact I’m coming here on regular basis should give you an idea on how good the cocktails are. If you are new to the place or never tried it, I’d suggest you try the Rum Mint Smash, that’s by far my favourite cocktail.

Ich war gestern das erste Mal im Luba Luft… eigentlich komisch, da es direkt bei mir um die Ecke ist. Mag daran liegen, dass der Laden von außen her eher unscheinbar und klein wirkt, keine außergewöhnliche Außenbeleuchtung oder Werbung, die schreit: Komm rein!
Als wir den Laden betraten hab ich schon über die Größe gestaunt, ein großer und langer Raum, der mit vielen bequemen Sesseln und Sofas ausgestattet ist, schon mal ein Grund hierzubleiben. An der Bar standen 4 coole Barkeeper, die alle Hände voll zu tun hatten sich aber trotzdem bemühten so schnell wie möglich für einen da zu sein!
Die Auswahl an Cocktails war wirklich klasse, keine Spur von Caipi, Pina Colada oder Tequlia Sunrise… die Klassiker sind hier mehr out als in und der Kreativität sind hier keine Grenzen gesetzt. Selbst wenn man nichts auf der Karte findet, kann man das kompetente Team um Rat fragen.
Die Musik hatte né angenehme Lautstärke und man konnte sich locker auf einem der Sofas unterhalten. Hier jedoch mein Minuspunkt: Es darf geraucht werden (ok find ich generell nicht schlecht) aber… aber wenn es keine oder in meinen Augen keine funktionierende Lüftungsanlage gibt, dann tränen die Augen und das leider nicht vor lachen!
Mein Fazit: Netter, gemütlicher Laden mit einer guten Auswahl an leckeren Cocktails… mit gesunder Distanz zum typischen Kiezgerummel!

Well it’s a Qype company favourite place to go, I have already been many times and am sure I will make it there again sometime soon.
If you like cocktails and a smokey atmosphere then here in Luba Luft you will be heaven.
Basically the place is a not very huge room, with a very good bar at one end and a lot of comfy sofas squeezed through the rest of the place. But I guess the place is busy as it attracts a bunch of nice people and is open more or less all the time (so it would seem)
Recommended are the moscow mules and more or less all the Rum they sell.

My favoritest bar in Hamburg, not that I go out often but it’s close to where I put in my 10 – 16 hour shifts and falling onto a barstool, blabbing with Vera and sucking down 3 Moscow Mules in quick succession is my idea of Feierabend!
Unpretentious atmosphere. You can show up in sweats or das kleine Schwarze, egal. Squashy sofas and private corners and right up front on the bar.
The service is einfach excellent. The bartenders are friendly and know what they’re doing. You can name a spirit and they will make you something delicious with it. Prices are totally reasonable.

Super bar à cocktail dans St Pauli. Déco kitch, prix très raisonnables, cocktails maison et staff super sympa. Que demander de plus?

The Moscow Mule has to be tasted to be believed. How can they make a drink that cold? The ice here seems to be colder than all other ice ever. And that copper cup is literally a joy. I would like one. And a personal butler to make me moscow mules ALL DAY EVERY DAY.
Don’t try the Espresso Margarita though, that’s weird. Just get a Moscow Mule and smoke inside JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN and you’ll have a whale of a time.

Introduced by friends, this will now become bar of choice in Sankt Pauli.
If you already love cocktails — then you will be in heaven. If you are not so sure, then this is the place to come and experiment. The superb bar staff will consult with you (English or German) to understand your likes and dislikes and then fix a cocktail just for you.
The bar itself is a little tucked away and all the better for it. Bare walls, interesting sofas and warm fires make you feel right at home.

One of my coworkers celebrated her birthday here (with 3 other friends!), so I was lucky enough to find out about Luba Luft within the first few weeks of arriving in Hamburg. As other reviewers have noted, the bartenders are really nice and experimental with their drinks did you know that you can add egg white to help very sour drinks go down more easily? I made the mistake of only ordering beer that night. The cocktails looked really good, so I have an excuse to go back soon.
The only drawback for me is that there were a lot of smokers in the crowd that night, so the air was pretty gross.

When the bar owner tells you he does not sell food but picks advises you to order food and have it delivered to the bar I have to smile.

Throw in a few cocktails, one or 3 shots and some large bottles of beer and the night is made.
Top Tip — Find the mini log fire, open the front and flip the dial to FULL HEAT. Cozy

It’s rare you find a bar that makes you feel so at home, but this one does! This is my second visit to Luba Luft and to be honest it was even better than the first!
I spent a lovely evening kicking back in front of the fire sipping tasty (and strong!!) cocktails whilst playing Jenga and listening to some chilled tunes. was I in heaven?
The staff are so helpful and attentive that you feel as if you have known them for years. If you have a couple of hours to spare and need some R & R then get yourself down there!

Hard to add what has not already been said right down to the ‘aLii-​told-​me-​so’ part but I’ll throw in my two cents.
HOW CAN I HAVE LIVED IN ST. PAULI 1 YEAR AND ONLY NOW VISIT LUBA LUFT?!
I mean really. You walk into the joint, and BAM it’s like a drinkers version of the Moon Lounge from 2001. All 70’s orange and rounded corners and sphere-​things in plentiful abundance. Behind the bar some bottles even a drinker’s drinker may not recognize.
Seating falls into three basic categories: Old and obviously comfortable, modern and surprising comfortable and über-​cool retro egg-​glass chair-​like things that are more for décor than a body.
Before ordering, came a (get this) White Russian shot. Maybe it’s just my inner Dude here, but I just love it when a German bar not only has Kahlúa but knows how to mix it with vodka and a dairy product.
My recommendation for this kind of place is to put your drink order in the hands of the professionals that take it. I had the distinct feeling that there is a good reason the drink menus look like they are meant to be ignored.

El Lubaluft es un bar famoso. La gente es muy maja y los coctales son tan bueno. Pero es peligroso. Vas a tener una resaca muy mal el día despues.

aLii took me to this place just recently, and I have to agree it’s brilliant. I only had a standard cocktail, a Mai Thai, but it was really good, topped with a molten sugar cube — a nice touch. It was slightly expensive though. The barmaid Vera is really nice, everything unrolls on a much more personal level than in your typical order-​your-​drink-​and-​leave-​me-​alone sort of cocktail bar. Not here though, the service is triple A, and the free cucumber water with your drink is a nice idea and a welcome addition.
I heard there’s also electro parties on some occasions I’m sold.

Amazing cocktail bar in St Pauli. So you have to wait for 15 minutes to get a drink from a famous and awarded barman? He’ll sort out some free amazing shooters to placate you while you wait for the most expertly constructed cocktails ever. And cheap. Wicked atmosphere, cool music, not too crowded. A gem of a bar. Careful of any shots that are on fire though — they really do burn!

The Luba Luft reminds me of an old abandoned apartment my friends and I found when we were 16. We turned it into our second home, dragged random used furniture into the apartment and hung out there from last period until all hours of the night drinking beers, listening to music, smoking cigarettes and just being teenagers. Until, that is, the cops kicked us out for trespassing a few months later.
The Luba Luft has the same type of feel to me — random flohmarkt chairs, sofas and couches spread across the entirety of the establishment. What the Luba Luft does have, which that old apartment didn’t, is friendly service and ridiculously yummy cocktails. I literally want to come back here just to try out all the cocktails on the menu, as if it was some Pokemon collecting game. Need to order that Gin and Pesto drink.
Well recommended for a quiet mid-​week excursion, but to be entirely honest, I like the atmosphere at the 3 Zimmer Wohnung a wee bit better. Luba Luft are friendlier, cheaper and have considerably better cocktails, so it’s a matter of in-​the-​mood more than anything else.

Basically it seems like they manage to make me say’ Oh my God, this is so tasty’ literally like every time Im there. Do you know much places like that? So just go there!

Going here was on recommendation, and wow, it was definitely worth it. A quick consultation with one of the mixologists as to my tastes and mood produced a «Blood and Sand»?! Never heard of it. But then I tasted my first whisky cocktail made with single malt scotch whisky from Islay! I could not believe what I was tasting. The perfect balance of some fruit, with the smokey tones which all Islay whiskeys have. I was star struck.
Add to that the amazing quality of the other cocktails, the complimentary drinks and lovely little touches like water with your cocktail and great bar snacks, and you have the best cocktail bar I’ve ever been to.
Simply unbelievable. Indulge…

This might be my favourite bar in Hamburg now. Luba Luft put the hidden gem in er, hidden gem — does that work? Anyway — it’s opposite Roosen bar in darkest St. Pauli, and although not originally meant to be a cocktail bar, has turned out to be one because they’re so bloody good at it. I literally could, and will, spend hours sat at this bar. In fact I didn’t really want to go home last night before I’d tried every single recommendation of the delightful hostess, Vera. Sadly, I am more sensible than that these days, but today is another day!

This place is great. Great service. Great cocktails. Good music. Comfortable sofas.
Upon entering we were presented with the menu and as we turned to go claim a sofa our host told us not to forget our glasses of water — cucumber water, a nice touch.
While going through the menu, our host brought over two complimentary coffee liquors, again a nice touch. Definitely right up their with the best service I’ve come across in bars in Hamburg — and I’ve been to a lot!
The menu is a fair size, but not hugely extensive. It doesn’t include (m)any standard cocktails. For instance, I asked for a margarita (meaning the Tommy’s Margarita from the menu) and was instantly asked do you mean a normal margarita or a Tommy’s?. This, I assume, means that you can also get a lot of cocktails that aren’t on the menu
My Tommy’s Margarita was mostly a standard margarita, but without the salt and instead topped by frothed egg white.
The cocktails here are cheapish and they have offers on Thursdays to make them even cheaper. One further plus point is that they serve Augustiner beer — one of my favourites.
I feel that Luba Luft is a bar that deserves to be better known. I’ll definitely be back and I’m definitely going to introduce my friends to it.
