In Between

Few people are likely to find this little record shop by chance, being as it is tucked away off Sachsenhausen’s main thoroughfares. But In Between is well worth going out of your way for if you’re a music nut of any description. Note that In Between only sells used records.
It’s a pleasant shop, but with that slightly chaotic element you would expect: Records and CDs in racks and boxes, with a pretty good selection of merchandise in all genres. Jazz is particularly well represented, especially on vinyl, and there’s some good classical music here, too. Add to which rock, indie etc. You’re bound to find something if you come with an open mind, even if things sometimes seem a little hard to find. The prices are OK; although some of the vinyl seems a bit expensive to me, it’s on a par with the other shops in Frankfurt, and there really is scarcely any junk to wade through. Instead, there’s a selection of some really quite unusual but excellent music. There are quite a few reasonably-​priced DVDs to be had, too.
There’s a nice little reading and listening corner at the back of the shop, too.

eine lauflage ist das sicher nicht, außer man hat einen guten lauf und läuft viel. dafür bietet sich ffm. immer wieder an. beim laufen und radfahren lässt sich immer wieder neues entdecken. schön das michael wieder einen laden macht. und dazu noch einen mit klasse und niveau. mit jazz hab ichs ja nicht so, doch ich kann sein angebot nur wärmstens empfehlen, da stehen fast nur sahnestücke und das trifft auch auf den popbereich zu. zum neues entdecken, zum abhängen und suchen was man schon lange gesucht und garnicht davon wusste. hier ist die adresse dafür.also nicht so faul sein und sich bewegen. und auch mal nachfragen ob er es hat was man sucht., zb. englischen jazz aus den sechzigern, henry lowther, keith tippet, john surman, neil ardley etc.

Eine prima neue Adresse für Musikfreunde: Der ehemalige Mitinhaber vom «Number 2» hat hier einen schönen eigenen Laden mit vielen Schätzchen, gebrauchtes Vinyl und CDs. Schöné Bilder gibt’s auch: zur Eröffnung Fotos eines ECM-​Cover-​Fotografen. Neben dem üblichen Rock&Pop viel Jazz, Klassik und Weltmusik. Nahe dem Colloseo, nicht unbedingt eine Lauflage, aber einschlägig Interessierte sollten den Weg finden.
