Here on a layover from Montréal to Jeddah. Goethe Bar sits like a stylish island in the terminal I was in, replete with a statue of the man himself. I had shincken und kase baguette and a weissbier. Both arrived promptly and both hit the spot. The server was courteous and attentive and didn’t «hover» like so many do in the US.
There was a moment when a man approached an insisted on a beer. He didn’t speak German or English and simply thrust money at the server and pointed at the beer. She invited to sit at one of the empty tables so she could serve him, but instead he continued to demand his beer, then upon receiving it sat across from a poor teenaged girl at her tiny table. It was wholly awkward. Despite the server’s admonitions that the table was «nicht frei» he ignored her and finished his beer. I applaud her patience.
It’s an airport café/​bar so keep expectations low and know that mileage may vary.

Not a bad place to grab a cup of coffee while you are passing time in the Frankfurt airport. The espresso is yummy. Service was probably a little slow for an airport — we were a little anxious waiting to pay our check because the server was nowhere to be found and we did have a plane to catch!
Pretzels here are an optical illusion — they look great but are really hard and dry. I wouldn’t make that mistake again!

Food is mediocre, expensive and the service is worse. I didn’t like the salad dressing so I asked to take the salad off of my bill righth away as I was note going to eat it. The manager came over and practically laughed in my face saying that’s no reason not to pay for the salad although I had only one bite. We had 2 cups of soup 2 beers and one salad our total was about $ 50 USD

The spaghetti bolognese here reaches new levels. Levels normally associated with coal mining or scuba diving. Tribes in the amazon could make better sauce than this. Slow service and food that was actually worse than the food on the plane. The sauce was thin and strangely translucent while the beef was presumably on holiday as there was only a token amount. Huge plate of pasta though and at least it was hot. Not highly recommended.

Die Goethe bar liegt etwas ungünstig in der Mitte zu den verschiedenen Gates.
Es ist laut und eine Bahnhofsatmosphäre ist nicht zu ignorieren. Von oben gucken noch weitere Leute auf einen herab.
Meistens ist es recht voll und man muss Glück haben noch einen Tisch zu erwischen.
Das Angebot ist sehr typisch. Schnelle Gerichte, mittelmäßige bis schlechtere Qualität zu erhöhten Preisen. Das weiß man aber vorher und muss man in Kauf nehmen.
Extrawünsche sind kaum möglich, immer nur genau so wie es auf der Karte angeboten wird.
Ich hatte bisher immer nette und gute Kellner, kann also über den Service nur gutes berichten.
Wer konstante und bekannte Qualität zu ebenfalls normalen (nicht erhöhten) Preisen sucht, der sollte einfach eine Etage höher fahren. Dort gibts ein Mc Donalds Café mit schöner und ruhiger Sitzecke.

Ugh. This is right by the east europe gates we are usually going through and for some reason everyone seems to think this place is «cute» and wants to go here for coffee. But it is ridiculous — overpriced, really slow unfriendly service and it gets really crowded. And limited menu. It is located on this small raised circular platform smack in the middle of the hallway and the people waiting to be seated spill into the aisle and create a blockage. Very annoying. I prefer the more food-​court like area upstairs where at least some reasonably priced food items can be found and it is out of the way of passengers who may be in a rush and trying to get to their gate. This place is a big skip it for me!

Milwaukee, WI
I live in Milwaukee now, so it just seemed wrong that I had traveled so far only to encounter bratwurst on a menu. My final destination was still a day’s flying away, Chennai India, but I was stuck in the Frankfurt airport during the lengthy layover. But of course, I was in this German airport, so really, what could I expect. The only fair way to compare is to other airport food, and this wasn’t that overpriced, pretty tasty, and a fun way to eat, between here and there.
In general, the Frankfurt airport has better eating choices than most other international airports, and the workers at all levels are quite polite and competent.

For a quick airport bite to eat, this is a great place. I had a bratwurst & roll and my grandson had the Munich sausages with pretzel. Mine was definitely better, but both were good. A nice taste of Germany while passing through.
