Ganesha Restaurant Asian Call Food

Ive eaten here a couple of times and I’ll be honest with you, it’s great. owned by Sri Lankan family they have very affordable food that tastes amazing.
The lunch time buffet is an amazing deal and I would recommend anyone who is wondering what to do for lunch in the city to go here. The buffet isn’t extensive but its tasty and all you can eat for like 6 euros.
The actual menu is also affordable and of good quality. The staff are also incredibly friendly and their to help!
Just to note: this place doesn’t have an alcohol license so instead enjoy some mango lassi while you are there :)

I was so stoked to find this place. I was advised about Ganesha from an Indian guy in my German class a few months ago and put it on my list of places to check out. I finally got to go there two months ago with my boyfriend and another Unilocal Elite for dinner.
So, here’s the deal– this place looks like it is straight out of India. Very no frills and very basic design, etc. It actually reminded me slightly of a hotel restaurant I ate at in India whilst watching cricket. The only difference is the hotel I ate at didn’t call itself «call food» which makes me think I’m picking up hookers and not a samosa. Anyways.
The food that first night was delicious and hearty. It had immense flavor and even came with a nice amount of heat. I knew the place had a 6 Euros all-​you-​can-​eat buffet during the week, so I vowed to get back for that as soon as I could!
I finally made it back for the buffet and it didn’t disappoint. The buffet consisted of two different chicken dishes, one very spicy and the other rather mild, palak, dal, papadoms, and two types of rice. The buffet is not huge, but I was rather grateful for that. Every dish was exceptional and made for a very enjoyable lunch.
Despite being run by Sri Lankans, they do carry dishes from all over India, as well as some Sri Lankan specialties and a few Pakistani ones. I don’t believe there is any halal meet, however (not 100% on that). They also don’t serve alcohol.
I can’t wait to get back to this place. It is not for everyone, but considering Indian is my go-​to food most days of the week at home, it is nice to find a basic, yet delicious place to eat out every-​so-​often.

Schon oft mittags dort gespeist. Ist nicht weit, günstig, lecker und geht schnell.
Auf dem Büfett für 6 € ist für jeden etwas dabei und man wird ganz bestimmt satt (sogar unsere Studenten).
Manch einer erfreut sich ganz besonders am klassischen kalten Coca-​Cola aus der Glasflasche, ich wähle häufig das kleine Mango Lassi. Beide Getränke für 2 €.
Wenn das mal nicht ein echtes Schnäppchen ist.
Ab 12 Uhr wird es drinnen voll. Auf die 2 großen Tische vor dem Haus strahlt die Mittagssonne und die Schirme können die Hitze von oben und manchmal die der scharfen Gerichte vom Teller einfach nicht ausgleichen.
Ganz prima Alternative.

Heute Mittag im Ganesha Essen gewesen.
Ich muss echt sagen, dass das Restaurant alles andere als einladend aussieht und selbst drinnen die Einrichtung hat übertrieben ausgedrückt ein wenig Flair von Sperrmüll, aber es geht ja ums Essen.
Mittags gab es ein All you can eat Buffet für 6 €, 3 Fleischspeisen, 3 vegetarische, 2 Sorten Reis, Brot und Joghurt Soße.
Ich bin immernoch kein Kenner was das indische Essen anbelangt, optisch war es auch nicht grad super präsentiert, geschmeckt hat es aber auf jedenfall und ich kann es echt nur empfehlen, evtl nicht um die Freundin auszuführen, aber um gut & günstig essen zu gehen, auf jedenfall, Preis/​Leistung top.
Auch Abends kann man essen gehen oder Sachen abholen (oder evtl sogar liefern lassen?), war sicherlich nicht das letzte mal, dass ich hier war, für mich heißt es echt immernoch: Indisch ist der neuer Döner, seitdem ich entdeckt habe, dass indisches Essen in Frankfurt echt günstiger als nen Döner ist…

Heute war ich zum ersten Mal in diesem kleinen unscheinbaren Restaurant im Bahnhofsviertel. Ein Glückstreffer. Die freundliche Familie aus Sri Lanka bietet jeden Tag ein «All you can eat Lunch Buffet» für nur 6 EUR an. Alles war frisch zubereitet und hat so geschmeckt, wie ich es von meiner Gastmutter in Sri Lanka kenne. Die Auswahl war auch sehr groß: zwei Sorten Reis, sechs Curries (veg und non-​veg) zum Teil spicy zum Teil sehr mild. Dazu gab’s Papadam und Raita. Jeden Tag gibt es andere Curries auch außergewöhnliche Gemüsearten, die ich bislang auch nur aus Sri Lanka kenne, z.B. Drumstick. Abends war ich spontan nochmal da und habe mir von der Karte die Nr. 41 Idlys mit Chutney & Sabhar mitgenommen. Der nette Koch hat alles ganz frisch zubereitet und die Portion hätte locker für zwei Esser gereicht. Auf der Karte gibt es sogar die berühmten sri lankanischen Idiapam (auch bekannt als Hopper). Die werde ich sicher beim nächsten Mal ausprobieren. Wer also auf authentische sri lankanische Küche steht, sollte unbedingt hingehen!

Kleiner Inder in den ich mich allein nie reingetraut hätte. Inneneinrichtung skuril möglicherweise aber authentisch. Mittags gibt es ein sehr überschaubares Buffet wenig aber LECKER ! Netter Service und guter Preis. Gehen wir mittags sehr gern hin.

Leckeres und günstiges mittagsbuffet. Mango lassi super. Werd ich bestimmt nochmal herkommen.
