Botan Grill

Großer, leckerer Döner. Auf Wunsch auch mit Schafskäse. Pizza sah auch ganz gut aus. Sitzplätze vorhanden.

Botan is a small Turkish/​Kurdish Imbiss in Poppelsdorf, right across Poppelsdorfer Schloss and by the bus stop Am Botanischen Garten. Even though the place is always tight, hot and claustrophobic inside, it has very nice «Biergarten-​like» seats outside. You can also watch the soccer games on a large flat screen TV inside, though you should expect to feel like packed-​sardines on such occasions, especially at weekends. :)
In terms of food, it is THE BEST place to have falafel, be it a dürüm or sandwich. I think its döner, which I believe is not 100% Kalbfleisch but mixture of turkey and calf, is not the best in town but still edible with the tasty sauces Botan offers. Same applies to lahmacuns; they taste good but there is always little amount of meat on top and the dough is never crispy but edible with condiments and sauces. They also serve pizzas, böreks and pommes but I have never tried any of those.
Even though the number of condiments is limited and the quality of them is questionable from the sloppy cuts, Botan serves THE BEST home-​made hot sauce in town, along with home-​made (and very thick and garlicky) tzatziki and thick, sweet cocktail sauce. I even witnessed one old German couple coming to Botan just to ask for one bowl of that hot sauce, pro-​bono. :) Also, the owner and the staff are very friendly guys who always insist you to have a cup of tea with them if they are not busy of course. :)
Overall, I strongly recommend Botan for those (especially students) who aim to get full with tasty (and often or inevitably garlicky) food for a very reasonable price. I believe sitting outside or getting your food to-​go will double the pleasure you get out of your food. :)

Lecker, gut und günstig. War neulich mit der Familie da, wir hatten zwei Falafel, Pommes mit Ketchup, drei Getränke für etwa 12 Euro. Bequeme Sitzplätze, alles sehr sauber. Von Fritz-​Cola habe ich Fritz-​Melonen-​Limonade entdeckt, sehr lecker. Mjam-​mjam, ich bekomm direkt wieder Appetit, wenn ich dran denke :)

Für mal schnell was essen mit Bistro Flair okay

Sei es Döner oder Pizza, beides schmeckt sehr gut. Das einzige, was ich kritiseren könnte, wäre der Wunsch nach mehr Belag auf der Pizza. Der Döner ist groß genug um satt zu machen!

Nette leute. Essen gut und große auswahl (auch pizza, currywurst…). Es gibt hier Fritz-​Kola und –Limo!

Der Döner-​Dealer meiner ehemaligen Arbeitsgruppe. Ob Pommes, Döner (Dürum oder Kebap), Türkische Pizza oder eine normale Pizza, alles bekommt man fix zu einem akzeptablen Preis schnell zum auf die Hand, auf der Terasse oder im Ladengeschäft essen.
Nicht nur wenn die Poppelsdorfer Mensa ihre Sommerpause macht kann es dort schon einmal voll werden — vor allem im Sommer, wenn es doch recht angenehm ist, es sich unter der großen Plantane im Schatten gemütlich zu machen kann man schon mal eine Weile anstehen.
Qualitativ habe ich keine Beschwerden — wie gesagt, für einen recht geringen Preis bekommt man leckeres Fast-​Food. Die Portionen sind angemessen und wenn man im Laden oder auf der Terasse ist, bekommt man alles auf einem Teller serviert auch an den Tisch gebracht.
Die Mitarbeiter des Ladens sind freundlich, selbst in stressigen Situationen sieht man sie noch Scherzen.
Ein kleiner Hacken ist das Innenleben der Sitzgelegenheiten im Inneren. Ein klitze klein bisschen heruntergekommen. Aber da sie gerade neue Stühle und Tische für den Terassenbereich angeschafft haben — wer weiß, vielleicht kommt demnächst das Innere dran ;).
Alles in allem eine verlässliche Essensquelle mit leckeren Döner. ^-^ und Pizzen.
