This restaurant was amazing. The food, the service and the ambience, top notch.
Patricia the lady in charge of the reservations and the hotel administration, she was awesome. Nice lady very polite and very sweet. We will defiantly go back for another great experience.

My husband and I came here for a date and we loved it! The waiter was very friendly and spoke perfect English, which is great because we just moved here. They have the menu in English and in German, and a wide variety of foods! The restaurant itself is in a quiet, secluded area and is very beautiful!
We ordered the escargot for appetizers and they were very good! Highly recommended! I ordered the chicken steak with spatzle, it was good and I think people who like chicken steak would like it but I didn’t know that I do not like chicken steak. The spatzle is very good too! It is potato noodles, which is traditional Swabian food. My husband got the steak with chive butter and homemade and seasoned fries! It was delicious! We also got the apple strudel with ice cream and it was amazing! This place is a little more pricey than cheap but it is well worth it and we will be going back for more!

It is okay. Nothing special and have had better German cuisine elsewhere. The three stars are for the friendly and attentive waitstaff. We always feel welcome there and they speak great English and have a menu in English as well. The food is not bad so that combined with the excellent service I feel it is a good restaurant to go to if you live nearby or are staying in our on base hotel and want something close by to feed you or your family. It is a little pricey but dining out in Germany for the most part is for our family of five.

This little place is close to the base and easy to find. The waiter was very friendly and was quick to produce English menus. The food was large in portion for lunch time and we even enjoyed the dessert… Recommend the Fire & Ice.

Quaint and and has that feeling of eating in the Black Forest. It’s set way back from the main street. In the Spring, the Biergarten opens. They have limited waitstaff that have been there for years. The inside is very Bavarian. They have an English menu. The waitstaff speaks English. The menu isn’t overwhelming with a million choices and it’s seasonal. White asparagus cream soup… too…die…for! I typically stick to the chicken or schnitzel dishes since I’m not really a steak person but I make it a point to always sample whatever the hubs orders. I recommend the flat iron steak! The sliced potatoes on the side too.
It’s kid friendly but they only have one highchair. They don’t have a kids menu but they will make anything into one. There is a basket of kids books and toys. There is an large open area next to the outdoor seating for the kids to run around.
They prefer payment in euro but they take MasterCard. It takes a few days to show up though. Tip in euro though!

Sehr nette Leute, das Restaurant ist wohl seit 30 Jahren in Familienbesitz und die Söhne des Hauses führen es in alter Tradition weiter. Die Atmosphäre ist herzlich und fröhlich, die Einrichtung traditionell bis altmodisch-​kitschig, was aber auch einfach dazu passt. Als Ausweichmöglichkeit steht eine Terasse und sogar ein Zelt für Gesellschaften zur Verfügung. Was traditionsbewusste Menschen auf der Suche nach einem schwäbischen Lokal einzig stören könnte, ist dass man aus allen Ecken Englisch hört wegen der nahegelegenen US-​Kaserne. Uns hat das nicht gestört, im Gegenteil.
Das Essen (Einmal Rostbraten, einmal Schweinefilet auf Käsespätzle mit Karotten) war sehr lecker, gut gewürzt, nicht zu fettig und reichlich. Besonders hat mir gefallen, dass die Karotten nur dampfgegart und damit nicht noch extra mit Fett versehen waren, das sucht man oft vergeblich.
Dazu haben wir nach einer Weinempfehlung des Hauses gefragt, woraufhin man uns zwei Gläser zur Degustation brachte und wir uns den aussuchen durften, der unserem Geschmack entsprach.
Auch der Nachtisch (ein Apfelstrudel und ein Coup Danmark) war sehr lecker.
Alles in Allem bekommt man hier sehr leckeres und frisches Essen zu normalen Preisen in schöner Umgebung dafür volle Punktzahl.

Edit Nochmals Bestätigung der guten Erfahrung, man hat uns bei einem erneuten Besuch wiedererkannt, soetwas gibt es tatsächlich noch ich fass es kaum :-)

Nice little restaurant near walking/​hiking trails in Boblingen. The owner and staff speak english well and are very friendly and helpful.
Definitely a great place to go to in nice weather for some good food or just to sit down and have few drinks. There is a field with a small playground nearby for children, and the restaurant itself is child friendly.
The german cuisine is very tasty and they have a variety of traditional dishes to choose from. The prices are well suited and the portions are good, so unless you have a huge appetite, you shouldn’t leave there hungry or with an empty wallet.
All in all it’s a decent little place to go out and eat if you’re looking for some good german food. The local trails nearby will help if you’re looking to get a good walk/​bike/​run in before or after your meal.
They are closed on Mondays.

Wir waren nach einer kleinen Wanderung und haben für das Abendessen schon vorher ein Lokal im Internet gesucht. Mit dem Waldheim sind wir auf keinen Fall enttäuscht worden. Obwohl der Garten vollständig reserviert war, wurde uns ein Platz angeboten. Es war sehr voll und trotzdem ging alles sehr schnell und ohne Hektik. Da geht man gern mal wieder hin.

Ganz süße Leute, nette location und gutes schwäbisches Essen. Wir waren im Winter häufig dort, saßen am Fenster, haben die schneebedeckten Bäume angeschaut. Schööön. Hunde und Kinder sind sehr erwünscht, rauchen darf man auch. Wenn man ein bisschen Ruhe in der Natur sucht, ist man hier bestens aufgehoben.

One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in all of Germany. I have never been disappointed, and always get far more than I pay for. It’s tucked away in the woods, so it’s one of those best kept secrets.

Das Restaurant im Waldheim Böblingen ist ideal, um nach oder vor einer Waldwanderung Station zu machen und sich etwas zu stärken. Im Sommer kann man auf der großen Außenterrasse sitzen und den vielen Kindern der Stadtranderholung bei ihren Aktivitäten zusehen. Die Gaststätte bietet eine ziemlich umfangreiche Speisekarte mit vielen typisch schwäbischen Gerichten. Es gibt auch einen «schwäbischen Sprachtest» auf den Platzsets im Lokal innen, der gerade für «Reingeschmeckte» höllisch schwierig ist. Zur normalen Speisekarte gibt es zusätzlich die Woche über einen günstigen Mittagstisch. Das Essen ist durchweg gut und es ist für jeden Geldbeutel etwas dabei.
Diese Gaststätte wird im Familienbetrieb organisiert, d.h. Mutter und 1. Sohn kochen, Vater und 2. Sohn bedienen. Das ist irgendwie charmant.
