One of the highlights of a long European vacation. This was an amazing lunch for a vegetarian, and for non vegetarians alike. The hummus plate as pictured many times, it the best hummus I’ve ever had, coming from someone who eats it on the regular. It was so fresh and filling. I got the eggplant with tofu on the hummus, amazing flavor. HAD to sample the falafel and got a side to share, 7 small falafel balls were so tasty. My husband got the shashuka and also loved it. Very filling for lunch and reasonably priced. The service is really casual and nice. Comfortable atmosphere, on a cute street near the hip section of Berlin. It’s cash only!

Craving a sweet treat I popped into Shiloh on a Sunday afternoon. I’ve read about this place and wanted to try it out but couldn’t find it last time(i have no idea how but whatever). Ordered a Chai Latte with soymilk(no extra charge for plant milk which is already a good sign) and a honey cake. They don’t have a huge variety of sweet(when I went they only had three options) but also the savoury food looked delicious and I am definitely going to try that soon! My Chai was good, made with a standard tea bag and soymilk but still good and the cake was tasty as well, and not too dry. Friendly service, not the cosiest interior but perfect for a quick coffee or lunch and very moderate prices(2,80 € for my Chai and same price for the cake). I am coming back :)

Sehr feiner guter Geschmack. Außerordentlich leckere Falafel und Hummus. Aber die Portionen hatten wir ehrlich gesagt etwas grösser erwartet.

I just had what was probably the most delicious food I’ve had in Berlin since I got here a month ago. I’m not vegetarian, so the decision to eat here for a meal was more about having something healthy.(Food in Germany tends to be a bit heavy.) The«Shakshuka» dish is served in the pan used to cook it, has a delicious stew of tomatoes and was excellently spiced, has large pieces of feta melting into the boiling stew, and is topped with two eggs. It came with a delicious hot flat bread, and a side of olives and pickles. If you are staying in Mitte this restaurant is about 1 block from Rosenthaler Platz U8 U-Bahn station, or a 15 minute walk North from Hackesher Markt S-Bahn station. The staff on the day I went was very friendly and seemed to be very fluent in English.

I fancy myself a hummus expert. I produce and consume vast amounts of it. I have never experience hummus as delicious as Keren’s at Shiloh. In fact, I went there initially because I read a review saying«try the hummus», but I could not have been ready for what I ate. Thankfully, for those of us who’s stomachs hurt if something’s not gluten free(curses!!!), Keren provides pappadum. I’ve now been twice and tried hummus with eggplant stew and fried cauliflower, and whatever way you dress it up, this hummus is king. Not to mention, Keren is about the sweetest woman I’ve met, taking such pride in her Café, her food, her customers. Highly recommend checking out this neighbourhood gem.

Superlecker!

I used to work in the Jewish area of Queens and I’ve missed the amazing Israeli-style cuisine I could get there. So, a few days ago, I went with my girlfriend to try out Shiloh and ended up enjoying the best hummus I’ve ever had in Europe! Even my girlfriend who doesn’t usually like hummus fancied it. I was also quite surprised with the lemonade that had a touch of mint for extra flavor(but not too much). My girlfriend had a dish with tomato and egg along with a strawberry smoothie. She was also very impressed. The service was also wonderful with Keren taking special care of each customer in her café personally. I will definitely be going back here regularly!

After years of lackluster vegan food offerings in Mitte, the area is finally stepping up its game, and Shiloh is one of the new spots catering to those non meat-eaters who don’t want to break the bank when going out. All the food here is 100% vegetarian and kosher, and tons of options are either already vegan or can be made that way easily. I ended up having the Israeli platter, which was full of delicious food like pickled veggies, hummus, eggplant, salads, olives, fresh-baked pita, and more. Add in a house-made ginger lemonade and I walked away satisfied. The café itself has plenty of seating, as well as a back room that is the beginnings of a Hebrew/English library and art gallery space. The owner used to do catering but now is focusing her efforts on the restaurant, and you can tell that a lot of consideration goes into it. So if you’re in Mitte looking for something healthy, affordable, and good, skip the Döner and stop by Shiloh.

I just went with friends to Shiloh for dinner — overall a very pleasant experience. The place is brand new and nicely decorated, all of the food we tried was delicious, and the prices were quite fair. We’ve tried a few other similar restaurants in Berlin and this was by far our favorite. We’ll definitely be back!
