Nalu Diner

Habs mal Kalorienmässig ausnahmsweise ma wieder so richtig Krachen lassen und bin mit einem Freund hierher… Typisches Amerika Dinerflair ! Die Servicedame sehr freundlich und sehr gut Informiert über die Speisen. Bestellt haben wir uns diverse Shakes, die über 5 Euro kosten. Aber ganz ehrlich diese sind so lecker das man getrost 5 Takken löhnen kann. Double Trouble egg mc bluffin kam danach und dieser war sehr lecker jedoch ein bisschen unhandlich beim Essen. Die Beeren Pancakes waren überaus schmackhaft und perfekt zubereitet. Der Burger meines Kumpels war auf dem Punkt medium gebraten, und er meinte auch sehr lecker ! Wasser wird kostenlos nachgefüllt, Kaffe auch, also wer Lust auf Amerikanische Diner hat ist hier absolut richtig aufgehoben. Sehr zu empfehlen…

This place tastes like Freedom & Greatness! (full disclosure: I’m not a fanatical Republican) All joking aside, this place is the quintessential version of an American Diner for any of you needing your Red, White, & Blue fix. Their staff is super friendly, their coffee is mediocre (as it should be & your cup is always full), and their food is fresh /​tasty. I had the Reuben and they cure their own corned beef. You get way more than you need and food coma will surely ensue.

Nicht frühstücken hat einen höheren Grad an Befriedigung als im Nalu Diner zu frühstücken.
Ich war nun zweimal dort, einmal für Burger am Abend und letztens zum Frühstücken. Burger so lala, nur weil amerikanisch drin steckt, heisst es nicht das die Burger gut sind. Mittlerweile gibt es gute Burger in der ganzen Stadt, war ein Versuch. Die Burger beim Nalu sind mini und auch nicht besonders schmackhaft.
Habe mir dann gedacht, dass es das American Breakfast aber mit Sicherheit rausreissen wird, die Karte las sich sehr gut.
Falsch gelegen. Habe das «Zwei/​Two Wilder» (oder so ähnlich?, das für ca. 10 €) bestellt und bin in höchstem Maße enttäuscht. Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam, aber dieses Frühstück…zum weglaufen. Lustlose Eier, ekelhafte Pancakes, zwei Scheiben Bacon…
Ist bekanntermaßen alles Geschmackssache, ich persönlich bevorzuge (ist mir nun klar geworden) eine Frühstücksplatte mit allerlei Spezialitäten und frischem Brot. Habe allerdings auch das Amerikanische Frühstück bedeutend schmackhafter und interessanter in Erinnerung als die Gerichte welche im Nalu präsentiert und serviert werden.
Der Laden ist Hip mit komischen Designelementen (wieder Geschmackssache) und es sind viele Amis dort, aber das sind auch die einzigen Alleinstellungsmerkmale. Definitive Geldverschwendung und nicht annäherende Wiederholungsgefahr.

I am not sure what to say, but if you are looking for a (really) good American Diner where you can have an American-​style breakfast or a juicy burger, this is the place!
Whenever my wife and I feel like having a buttermilk pancake, we pop by this place. Their milkshakes are great, too! Try the root beer float, it will totally flow your freakin’ mind.
Friendly staff, and always there to give you a free coffee refill with your breakfast!
Watch out: it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays!

This restaurant is everything it’s trying to be, a good American Diner in Germany! You get your water and unlimited refills on coffee and iced tea. The breakfast was delicious, we’ve been here 2 times already and I must say, the pancakes are absolutely amazing, incredibly fluffy and wholesome.
I had the Canadian Bacon and scrambled eggs with the pancakes last time, the combination my boyfriend took this time because yum!
This time I just couldn’t get around the Eggs Benedict and they were divine, there is absolutely nothing I would rather have on a Sunday on my plate, and if they had unlimited refills for those I’m sure I would’ve happily sat there the whole day and munch away until I’ve hit the food coma. But as it was, I’m already deliriously happy with what I got.
You definitely won’t go back out hungry after Nalu Diner!
Ah, also… The staff was very friendly and attentive and prices are good!

Been here twice.
In the first time I was REALLY craving a Philly cheese steak sandwich, but it was Saturday and they only make it on weekdays and I was super hungry and not really in the mood for breakfast food, so I decided to go for the Cheese Burger with Fries, and while it might not be the best Burger I had in Berlin, it did certainly exceed my expectations.
I was expecting some frozen-​patty type burger but instead what I got was a hearty, fresh, and juicy Burger patty in some delicious buns. I left vowing that I WILL come to the place again.
Second time I was there to get what I initially wanted, a Philly cheese steak sandwich. So, I ordered it with fries. What came to my table was what I exactly was craving, a steak sandwich smothered in cheese and seasoned with pepper and onions and it was f***ing DELICIOUS. Maaaaaaaaan, did this scratch an itch!
I haven’t yet tried their breakfasts but I am definitely coming back to try it.
The place itself is in the Helmholtzplatz area; which could be quite strange for an American diner, but it gives it more of a neighborhood-​y feel.
The interior in all honesty does feel more like a café than an American diner; although the back area has diner-​style seating, but the general ambiance doesn’t really feel as casual as a diner goes; but as far as I am concerned, this doesn’t really ruin the experience.
Service is great; prices are a tad higher than elsewhere but still pretty moderate.

Sometimes a bad experience in a place can be also due to a wrong ordination by the client. So probably I’ve ordered the wrong things this time
The place is nice inside: american style, with tables provided with ketchup mustard and other. Inside it’s enjoyable and relaxing

About the food. the menu: nice layout but caotic. It takes time to understand what to take, but this is a personal consideration
I’ve ordered french toast + 2 scramble eggs + hashbrauns (pan-​fried potatoes)
My dish was sadly empty, the few amount of scramble eggs looked grey; the hashbrauns were tasty but small like 2 olives; the french toasts were too sweet and too much (seriously can you eat that amount?). I’ve got my dish served without any kind of decoration, like a leaf of lettuce or whatever else: just disassembled food in an empty plate. Bad

Man kommt und geht mit dem bacon. Ohne diesen wäre der laden verloren… preis/​baconverhältnis: stimmt überein mit den anderen hier gelesenen kritiken. Hervorzuheben ist noch das rote Schuhe vom Personal mit extra bacon bewertet werden auf instagram. Stuhlpolster: classic! Der Weg nach hause ohne Leute zu treffen: fast unmöglich, deshalb ein Stern abzug

This place is a piece of home for the American traveler. The pancakes are hefty and refills are unlimited. I thought the combos on the menu were a bit odd though. One ends up with a lot more food than they need to eat to get that one thing they desire. But the food is so fairly priced and the service is full of smiles. I am definitely coming back.

Loved it. Great service, amazing food, for people like me who love and miss the States it’s a great place where one feels like they’re stateside. I highly recommend it. :)

An diesem Sonntag mal wieder nach Prenzl’berg zum Frühstücken gefahren. Das Nalu wollten wir dort schon lange ausprobieren, hatten bisher aber nie Glück mit dem Platz. Heute klappte es, eine der 4er-​Sitzgruppen war frei.
Das Nalu Diner ist ein Café/​Restaurant, angelehnt an die American Diner. Hier und da finden sich Zitate in der Einrichtung, wie zB die oben erwähnten Sitzgruppen oder die Tischplatten mit informativer Oberfläche. Dabei bleibt der Gesamteindruck locker und entspannt. Auf Chrom, Glas und knallige Farben wurde verzichtet.
Die Speisekarte weckt viele Erinnerungen, nicht nur in der Kategorie Frühstück. Es gab verschiedene Kombinationen aus Buttermilch-​Pfannkuchen, French Toast, Eiern, Hashbrowns, Speck, Fleisch und Omelettes. Ich hab mich für einen French Toast entschieden. Dazu einen malted Milkshake. Dieser kam auch — zusammen mit dem Kaffee — schnell und schmeckte wunderbar. Cremiges Vanilleeis mit leichter Malznote, den hatte ich schnell weg geschlürft.
Das Essen kam bald danach. Neben vier dicken Scheiben French Toast fanden sich noch zwei Spiegeleier und zwei Hashbrowns. Bei letzteren handelte es sich nicht um (deutsche) Bratkartoffeln, sondern um fein geraspelte Kartoffeln, als Klops gebraten, einem dicken Rösti nicht unähnlich. Mir hat’s gut geschmeckt. Die Eier und Kartoffelklöpse schmeckten, wie sich’s gehört, nach Eiern und Kartoffeln. Der French Toast war excellent — fluffig mit dezentem Zimtgeschmack. Auf den Tischen standen Ketchup und Sirup bereit, wobei letzterer besser zum French Toast passt :-),
Für mich hat alles gepasst. Der Service war freundlich, hilfsbereit und schnell. Mir hat besonders die entspannte Atmosphäre gefallen. Und endlich bekommt man mal einen guten French Toast in dieser Stadt! Ich vergebe drei Sterne für die Erfüllung meines Standards plus einen vierten für den gelungenen amerikanischen Touch und den French Toast.

An einem sehr heißen Tag gelangten wir ins Nalu und wurden gleich ganz freundlich begrüßt und die Bedienung kam auch gleich einem Glas kalten Wasser an, das nenne ich sehr aufmerksam. Zum trinken hatten wir einen Eistee und einen Horlicksmilchshake, das hatte einen leckeren Malzgeschmack. Ich wähle die Eggs Florentin und fand es total lecker, leider war das Eigelb in den pochierten Eiern nicht wirklich flüssig, danach hatte ich einen Pancake mit frischem Beerenkompot. Das Pancake ist kein typisch amerikanisches Pancake (dicke Pancakes), sondern sah mehr wie ein deutscher Eierkuchen aus. Geschmeckt hat es mir trotzdem. Mein Freund hatte einen Frühstücksteller und er fand es auch total lecker.

Beim Nalu Diner handelt es sich nicht um den nächsten aufgepeppten foodie tempel mit verrückten hamburger kreationen.
Ganz im Gegenteil — die Macher versuchen einfach nur ein klassisches Diner nach amerikanischem Vorbild zu machen.
Gerade beim essen ist das erkennbar. Statt «Wagyu Beef Burger mit Orangenscheiben» werden einfache Cheeseburger mit Pommes aus dem Plastikkörbchen serviert. Zusächlich gibt es noch viele Amerikanische Gerichte, die ansonsten bei uns auf kaum einer Speisekarte zu finden sind: Das Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich beispielsweise ist einfach großartig!

Einfach super! Ich liebe diesen Laden und bin so froh, dass er sogar in meiner Nachbarschaft liegt. Das Essen ist authentische amerikanische Diner Küche und geht mit Kreationen wie z.B. dem Egg McBluffin sogar noch darüber hinaus. Wer amerikanisches Diner Essen liebt, muss diesen Laden besuchen — in Berlin gibt es derzeit nichts Vergleichbares. Beim Anblick der Speisekarte würde ich am Liebsten jedes Mal alles auf Einmal bestellen. Ja, der Service ist langsam, aber immer super freundlich. Wer es allerdings eilig hat, sollte diesen Laden lieber ein anderes Mal besuchen. Leute, die hier die hässlichen Plastikbecher etc. kritisieren, verstehen das Konzept einfach nicht und waren wahrscheinlich auch noch nie in einem Diner in den USA essen.

Food was according to expectations (not outstanding, but if I want 5 star cuisine, I don’t eat at a diner). The atmosphere is okay, might be a bit noisy at times as it seems to be quite popular with families with small children, and the staff was super patient and nice with the little ones.
The service was somewhat not existent.
After 25min of waiting, I went to the counter to order our food. (They have table service, and the place was not busy at all.) The waiter also didn’t seem to have the capacity to take empty plates with him as he was walking past empty handed, forgot an order of the family next to us etc. Overall, it took 1.5h to have a burger + fries (my friend) and a Salad (me). I’m not impressed.
I would go again if there’s a different waiter on duty. (You can have a peek thought the window ;))
Oh, in case that was somebody’s first day on the job: a badge that says «Hi, I’m new here» helps a lot!

great place to have breakfast in Berlin

Einfach klasse. Im Nalu gibt es das authentischste American Breakfast, das ich jemals außerhalb der USA gegessen habe. Selbst mein amerikanischer Freund schwärmt in höchsten Tönen von Pancakes, Egg McBluffin & Co. Und sogar Coffee-​Flatrate und complementary water gibt es. Ein Traum!

I’ve been here twice, and here’s my take. If you’re coming here as an American tourist, you probably won’t find anything super special about Nalu. If you’re an American who’s been living in Berlin for more than a couple months, you’ll probably like it since you’re no doubt missing real American breakfasts. It is the closest thing you’ll get in Berlin to an American style breakfast, but there’s still a bit to be desired.
The atmosphere is not diner-​like at all, and it’s either typical Berlin restaurant service or one notch above depending on which waiter you get. We felt like we were rushed while ordering.
The food is pretty good. I’ve had the benedict and the pancake platter with hash browns. No qualms with the coffee, either (but then again, it’s not American style coffee). The 5 euro milkshake, however, was absolutely terrible. Avoid this at all costs. I feel like Americans will come in here, see the word milkshake and think they’re getting the creamy, delicious, authentic thing. Do not be fooled, especially with the mocha one (worst aftertaste from the syrup).

Authentisches amerikanisches Frühstück. Leider kein allzu schönes Ambiente. Die Einrichtung wirkt immer unfertig und kühl. Die Bedienung ist nett, aber zurückhaltend. Kaffee gibt’s kostenlos nachgeschenkt. Hat Potenzial, aber es fehlt irgendwie an Leidenschaft.

After living in Germany for right at a year and a half, this is the is the first restaurant we have been able to go and get a full American style breakfast! It was so good. Pancakes could have been cooked just a little longer, and scrambled eggs were a tad bit runny, but all of the flavors and everything else was spot on! They even make their own American style breakfast sausage (the only place I have seen it here outside of McDonald’s), and it was great. Homemade cinnamon rolls (also a first since moving here) were really good as well. One of only two places I have seen to get not fruit flavored, regular iced tea (along with Hard Rock) and it was better than the other. My wife got a Root Beer and it was fantastic. They were out of American Dr. Pepper, but if they had it I would have purchased a bunch to bring home with me too! All in all a fantastic meal, I wish we lived a bit closer than Steglitz, or we would be regulars. We will still make it a point to come here at least once or twice a month, though, as we loved the breakfast and really want to try the lunch/​dinner options as well!

Wer auf das schwere amerikanische Frühstück steht, ist hier genau richtig. Leckere und originale Pancakes und Frenchtoasts. Kostenloses Wasser und Kaffee, der wieder nachgefüllt wird. Tiefenentspanntes Personal. Preis/​Leistung absolut in Ordnung!

Haben gestern einen klassisch Amerikanischen Burger dort gegessen. War echt Super. Der Service etwas «lustig» aber im großen und ganzen echt gut. Kann ich empfehlen.

Ein wirklich echter, guter Cheeseburger, der den Vergleich mit anderen der ‘besseren’ Sorte nicht scheuen muss! Wir gehen hier bestimmt jede zweite Woche Mittagessen.
Das Fleisch ist hier frisch (ich betone nochmals: FRISCH) und kein (!) Tiefkühlpattie wie man ihn bei 90% der meisten Burgerläden findet, und aus meiner Sicht macht dieser Unterschied Welten aus!
Das Bun von innen lecker angeröstet, und die hausgemachte Mayo ist auch sehr lecker (könnte aber mehr sein).
Der Service schwankt, manchmal ist er super, manchmal träge.
Aber die Leute die kein Englisch können, werden m.E. trotzdem freundlich bedient, verstehe hier manche Bewertungen nicht, einige der 1-​Sterne-​Bewertungen klingen etwas neurotisch, ich glaube da liegt’s eher am Gast selbst.

Schon die Speisekarte klingt für mich wie ein Gedicht :)
Ja, ich liebe es einfach ab und zu mal so richtig amerikanisch zu frühstücken mit Hashbrowns, Meat Patties, Filterkaffee unlimited and so on.
Und dafür ist das Diner einfach perfekt. Zu okayen Preisen gibts hier alles, was das Herz begehrt und noch mehr! Der Filterkaffe schmeckt mir sehr gut, die Pancakes — so meinten Kollegen — sollen auch sehr gut sein (tolle Konsistenz) das Corned Beef Hash mit zwei Spiegeleiern oben drauf auch einfach nur lecker. Die Frühstücksburger hab ich nicht probiert — meine Mitesser aber schon und waren begeistert. Es gibt einiges an importierten Getränken (Dr. Pepper, Rootbeer und so) und eine verlockende Desertauswahl. Shakes sind selbstverständlich auch am Start.
Der Service war schnell und freundlich.
Ich werde definitiv noch sehr oft wiederkommen!

Excellent place for an American… everyone speaks English. The is good and filling… the 70 – 80’s music was a nice touch too

Absoluter NO GO
fast 10 Euro für ein liebloses ekliges Frühstück bestehend aus 2 Spiegeleiern, 2 kleinen Streifchen Bacon und zwei Pancakes mit dem Geschmack und der Konsistenz von altem Tapetenkleister. Extra bezahlt haben wir noch zwei billige Teebeutel in heißem Wasser in einem häßlichen Becher. Die Küche mag ja authentisch für ein schlechtes amerikanisches Diner irgendwo in der Pampa sein, aber dann hätte der Scheiß, höchstens die Hälfte kosten dürfen. Übrigens: der Tee hat 25 Minuten bis zum Tisch gebraucht, das Essen 45 Minuten, wir wollten es schon wieder abbestellen, hätten wir das doch nur gemacht. Nachdem die 2 Eier und der Bacon schnell gegessen waren und die Pancaces ungenießbar, durften wir uns noch hungrig ein anderes Lokal zu Frühstücken suchen und da nochmal Geld ausgeben.
Fazit: Qualität Preis und Service stehen hier in einem absoluten Mißverhältnis. Absolut zu meiden.

Sehr guter Cheeseburger, der ohne Soße serviert wird. Dafür gibt es Ketchup und Senf auf jedem Tisch und hausgemachte Mayo für 0,50 Euro extra. Allerdings könnte das Verhältnis des Pattys zu den üppigen Buns ausgeglichener sein.

Its awesome just for that. I would give ten stars if I could. Anytime I am in Berlin I MAKE time to come here. Maybe I have been too long away from home… The food is diner standard, I think it does a good job of putting out decent food for a low price. It’s not the best food, but it’s comforting and a good reminder of childhood and times long past. I disagree with a previous review that said it does not look like a diner. Diners in the US always look like this. Small and ordinary. Unless you go a chain that has those shitty generic signs all over the place.
Anyway the pancakes are good and the egg-​mcmuffin thing is enough reason to come back.

Exactly what i wanted: American Diner food. Doesn’t mean it’s the best food in the world but it’s American Diner food. I’ll definitely come back the next time I need a pancake. The service was ok too.
My one complaint is the price (which is expensive in general, not just by Berlin standards).

Kam etwas verfeiert mit riesen Hunger aber null Appetit hierher. Du wirst unkompliziert und herzlich empfangen, die 80-​er Jahre California Mucke holt dich ein bisschen runter und wenn der Burger auf den Tisch kommt, entspannst Du total. An der Bar sitzend, kannst du schauen, was der Koch tut. Und er machst es gut.
Und richtig geil: es gibt Filterkaffee! ENDLICH hat mal wer begriffen, dass american standart eben numal KEIN verlängerter Espresso ist. Dazu noch ein pancake mit dem konsistenzmäßig einmaligen Eis und Du gehst total wohlig aus dem Diner. Das Eis ist so toll, weil es nicht diese derzeit überall vorherrschende schaumige Konsistenz hat, die angeschmolzen wie Sprühsahne aussieht und schmeckt. Achtet mal im Nalu auf die kleineren Details! Unter Anderem bekommt man blue sky soft drinks, ‘made with real sugar´ — das ist bei US– Produkten eher selten, da lieber billiger Süßstoff oder noch billigerer ´high cooncentrated corn syrup´verwendet wird. Wenn man auf solche Details abfährt ist man hier richtig. Einzig die weißen Wände sind etwas traurig und passen eigentlich gar nicht zu dem, was der Laden sonst ausstrahlt. Eigentlich könnte auch die Musik und der Service und die Küche etwas lauter sein. So das man das Gefühl bekommt — hier dreht sich was. Ein Diner wie eine Maschine. Ich glaub dann würde es noch ein wenig authentischer herüberkommen.

In total honesty if you want a simple breakfast, just make it at home, it will be way cheaper. The pancakes tasted a bit undercooked, and the rest, bacon and eggs, well, were pretty generic, ergo, my advice to just eat at home. The hot chocolate was pretty good though. I believe there might be better breakfast places out there.

To start it off… why call this place a diner if it isn’t one?
I’ve been to many diners in the U.S. and none of them even looked like this place. I don’t see much or anything American here — calling it authentic makes no sense. This place is more or less a café — Berlin-​style: let’s open a place, let’s not renovate, let’s put some cheap furniture in and let’s call it something.
I am not beating on Berlin here since I’ve lived here for more than 10 years and obviously love this city, but anyway — Nalu is not a diner, it’s a more a café.
If you look past the interior, the place is still a little too messy and cramped for my taste. I went on a Sunday (around 1:00 PM) and the music was too loud, too many kids, too many people and so on.
But yeah, food?
Coffee for breakfast is nice, but the coffee at Nalu is horrendous. And who needs a free refill then? The coffee may be the only authentic American thing about this place. If you’ve been to Silo, Five Elephant, The Barn, Bonanza or any other decent place, you won’t be able to drink it.
Food-​wise: french toast was cold and didn’t have any taste. The poached eggs were cold as well and tasted too much of vinigar (which is probably due to how they were made, but also a first). I am guessing they both had to wait on my pancakes.
Speaking of which: the pancakes which I came here for were too dense and large and also lacked taste. Which is really unfortunate. I’ve made pancakes myself, and if I have to drown them in maple sirup to get some taste, then something is wrong.
The prices are indeed cheap, the portions are massive and with the free refills, I can see how this place is appealing to many people. Which also shows how crowdsourcing doesn’t work. ;)
Service was alright, though they forgot my coffee at first. But they were trying hard.
If you speak German, the menu will seem hilarious — a little like I expect Google Translate to write a menu if you feed in an English version.
Anyway, I wish more places would focus on quality. Be bold, be a little more expensive.
This is one of those hyped places which cannot live up to its expectation. Unfortunate.

Ehrlich gesagt war der Laden die Kalorien nicht wert:-(((

Leider überzeugt der Laden nicht vollständig. Das Design finde ich schon relativ authentisch & auch die Bedienung war sehr freundlich & superaufmerksam (ob deutsch, englisch oder denglisch, die Kommunikation war problemlos möglich).
Der Burger hat mich leider nicht überzeugt. War ok, aber nichts Besonderes. Pommes versalzen & ähnlich wie bei diversen Fast-​Food-​Riesen.
Den Pie kann man probieren (hier könnte allerdings hausgemachte Sahne serviert werden) & das Frühstück reizt mich trotzdem (so dass ich auf jeden Fall nochmal wiederkomme).
Hausgemachter Eistee schmeckt leider nur, wenn man die Zitrone & gaaaaanze viel Zucker mit einrührt, aber immerhin gibt’s den grenzenlos.

The absolute definition of a perfect greasy spoon.
Nalu has Americana coming out of its nuggets, with presidential table tops, cans of A&W and Orioles and Browns banners on the wall. There’s even a Goodyear blimp in the back by the toilets.
How’s the food? Exactly how diner food should be; simple, a bit greasy, tasty and oh so satisfying. The chili cheeseburger is a thing of beauty, with a nice layer of chili bonded to the burger between the cheese and the meat. The fries are McDonalds-​like without tasting like they were fried in butter, and don’t even require ketchup.
The «Egg McBluffin» — another McD’s nod — is a solid breakfast sammie if you’re not in the mood for traditional diner lunch fare, and it doesn’t even crack 3 EUR.
Two people can eat like it’s the end of the world and still not blow past 20 EUR.

— was nicht das Problem für mich ist aber wenn das noch mit Inkompetenz (Langsamkeit, Unfreundlichkeit) gepaart ist, dann reichts. Geradzu lächerlich wirkt dann der Namenszusatz kindness.
Ist man als Gast neuerdings Bittsteller? Dieses Gefühl wurde mir dort vermittelt.
Berlin oder besser Deutschland wird ja gern als Servicewüste bezeichnet.
Hier herrschte gestern ein Servicevakuum!
Weitere Negativpunkte:
— dreckige Tische (der Laden war nicht voll also kein Grund die nicht mal zu reinigen)
— nur 2 Biersorten auf der Karte und eine war auch noch aus (die Büchse die man nebenan im Späti nachkaufen kann)
— die Karte bietet nur eine vergleichbar geringe Auswahl und ist sehr unübersichtlich
Fazit:
Ich bin sehr froh, dass es genügend Konkurrenz im näheren Umfeld gibt, und bin sicher, das sich Qualität durchsetzt.

Als Einstimmung zur Amerikareise testeten wir den Nalu Diner. Der erste French Toast meines Lebens wurde zugleich der bisher beste! HiHi.
Der Laden ist stimmig eingerichtet, niedlich sind vor allem die Halbgardinen an den Fenstern und die beklebten Tische. Die Mitarbeiterin war wohl Amerikanerin, ausgesprochen nett und stellte uns erstmal je einen Becher Wasser auf unseren Tisch. Eine schöné Geste.
Der georderte French Toast war eine köstlich Sache, wenn auch nichts für die schlanke Linie. Öhöm
Wie in Amerika üblich kommt der Filterkaffee ungefragt zum nachfüllen an den Tisch gelaufen.
Insgesamt fanden wir es dufte und bezahlbar und kommen wieder.

Two patty cheese burger with no bun. side of fries and then I load it up with ketchup and Tabasco. Tasty. I hope they’ll name the variation after me.
The French toast is tasty my wife and daughter say. The bacon is crispy and free refills for coffee. The Bloody Marys are good and the tables are covered in informative placemats. I can review my presidents and state flags, flora and fauna.
Sometimes the pace is a little slow, but you can’t rush quality.
Good tunes they play. And prices are decent.
We have been here again and again and again…

We tried this place on their opening morning and I can’t stop thinking about their pancakes ever since. They had cinnamon in them, and were thin like real home made pancakes are, not thick & doughy like ones that come from a mix. Definitely looking forward to a trip back.
