Mozzarella Bar

Such a cool concept for a restaurant. Amazing food. Great staff. I had an amazing mozzarella taster platter. And it was hands down the best mozzarella I’ve ever had. Go here.

I wanted to try out this place for a long time, and today I had the opportunity to do so. There were several good things that happened today (I finished an experiment in the lab, I got paid, etc), so I decided to splurge myself for a little bit for lunch. I headed here and sat myself by the window.
I ordered a 250g serving of burrata, paired with grilled seasonal vegetables. I also ordered a café latte. Wow, I should say that was the best lunch I have had in a long time.
I should say that I think they have the best mozzarella in town. It definitely beats the mozzarella I get at the farmer’s market every Saturday. A serving of burrata costs 10 EUR, which isn’t cheap, yet it is worth every bite. They serve it plain, so just grab the salt, pepper, and olive oil and you’ll be heading to heaven soon.
They also have other things on the menu, but if they call themselves the Mozzarella Bar, then I don’t see why people would order anything but mozzarella here.
Do yourself a favor. Go here, order some mozzarella (they even have tasting options of various kinds), and enjoy your little experience of culinary heaven.

Wer Mozzarella liebt ist hier richtig. Es gibt diverse Arten und eine schmeckt besser als die andere. Besonders die Burrata ist ein Traum. Zudem toller Wein, Bier aus Südtirol und ein nettes Team das sich perfekt um die Gäste kümmert. Kleiner Laden mit ein paar Plätzen auch draußen. Sehr empfehlenswert.

The food here is like a savory version a decedent dessert! Of course I am speaking of the burrata mozzarella. We were a little confused when we didn’t see burrata on the menu, so we asked our server and he came back with a different menu which included the «mozzarella menu.» This was confusing. But asking paid off because the silky texture just melting in my mouth was an amazing sensation!
The wine selection is also really nice here. You don’t see the generic italian grapes listed, so it is worth asking for a recommendation if you are not familiar with the more nuanced regional varieties.
Sitting outside is also highly recommended!

Nur 2 Sterne von mir, da der Kellner mir partout keinen Balsamico zu meinem Mozzarella bringen wollte -‘der Chefkoch erlaubt das nicht’ hiess es. Ziemlich steif und hoch gestochen für ein Konzept, dass easy, trendy und einfach rüberkommen soll eben nur eine Mozzarella Bar und kein 3 Sterne Restaurant. Von der Gast ist König, scheint signore auch nicht gehört zu haben. Schade!
Ansonsten war das Essen und Ambiente ok, eben buzzy Berlin Mitte mit mittelmässigem Essen und Service, da ja die Touristen auf der Auguststrasse eh reinschneien.

Great Mozzarella Bar in great location. The staff was so friendly, explained everything and when I asked for a certain type of Mozzarella they instantly knew what I was after. I had Burrata Gusto with pomodoro and basilico and it went really well with their olive oil. The cherry tomatoes were outstandingly delicious and a joy to eat.

Good Food but they recently started to put their garbage right in front of their restaurant, so beware that you will enjoy your food with a nice view into garbage bins and developing odors

Sehr nette Bottega mit leckerem Essen. Sie bieten wechselnde Mittagsgerichte an. Alles wird in einer Art Showküche frisch zubereitet.
Ich kam gestern zum ersten Mal hier hinein und wurde sehr herzlich empfangen. Der junge Italiener kam zu mir vor die Theke um mich über ihr Angebot zu informieren und zu beraten, ich habe sogar einen Extrawunsch kostenlos dazu erfüllt bekommen.
Ich hatte ein vegetarisches Focaccia, was sehr lecker aber auch recht ölig war.
Man kann dort vor Ort essen und sich einen der vielen Weine kredenzen lassen oder sich auch ein Sandwich mitnehmen.
Leckere italienische Köstlichkeiten in unkomplizierter Atmosphäre ich komme gerne wieder!
