Motel Plus Berlin

Ok so the first gal at the front was probably as nice as a your average German lady is going to get. Agreeable, but not overly nice. This I can live with. But what I can’t was the signing of a document when we checked in that said ‘we would not have food in the room.’ I’m sorry??! Apparently it ‘gets spilled into the carpet’. Guess i should have brought my bib… not sure what to make of this but whatever…
So we get to our room and notice that there is no phone. That’s odd, but we can deal with. But the straw that broke the camels back was when we asked if, since we don’t have a phone in our room, we could receive a call at the front. Although they said yes, when our friend called, they were told that guests cannot receive calls because there’s no phone in the room (mind you we were in the lobby waiting the whole time and they knew this). So then we asked if we could use the hotel phone to make a local call… Of course not… Guests are not allowed to use the hotel phone to make calls. ummmm, ok so how’s about having one in the room in the first place.
So we bounced, found a GREAT spot on airbnb in Prenzlauer Berg. if you need a spot that’s actually cheaper than this place where they treat you like a middle school student, look up ‘beautiful and charming studio’ in berlin. Divya is the host and we are so thankful we left motelplus for her wonderful little spot in a much better neighborhood.

Sehr neues Motel in Berlin Neukölln. Lage: Direkt vor der Tür eine Bushaltestelle. man kommt also ohne großen Fußweg zur U und S-​Bahn. Zu Fuß sind es aber auch nur 7 – 8 Minuten von der U/​S Bahn Hermannstrasse.
An der eben genannten U/​S Bahn Station ist auch ein kleines «Einkaufszentrum» wo auch Supermärkte zu finden sind. Ebenso auf dem Weg zum Motel ein Burger King und ein Spätkauf. Man ist also immer gut eingedeckt.
Der Empfang war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer: TOP! Alles neu und modern. Einfach auf die Homepage die Bilder gucken. Das stimmt so alles. Ich hatte ein Zimmer nach vorne raus zur Silbersteinstrasse. Was aber kein Problem war, da die Fenster sehr gut isoliert sind. Und nicht nur das: Es gibt Außenrolläden (so wie in Schulen und Behörden) damit ist es auch morgens noch super dunkel im Zimmer und ein geruhsames ausschlafen ist garantiert. Perfekt!
Schrank, Flachbild TV, Schreibtisch und genügend Steckdosen sind vorhanden. Einziges Manko: W-​Lan im Zimmer kostet 5 Euro pro 24 Stunden. In der Lobby und Bar ist es gratis.
Das alles sind Plus Punkte die die Lage (Neukölln) wieder aufwiegen. Einfach mal buchen dort. Das Viertel ist gar nicht so schlimm wie man es vermutet.
