Glücksmädchen Catering

In addition to catering, Glücksmädchen has a stall at the Street Food Thursday event that takes place weekly at Markthalle Neun. As a vegan, I don’t have much of a problem finding suitable food at the Markthalle, however, recently I have been eating gluten free in an effort to cut out my reliance on bread, so this was one of the only booths that offered both. Well, kind of.
The thing is that most everything made here is made with fish sauce. I inquired about the pad Thai (which is advertised as having tofu and meat) in hopes of getting it with only tofu, but no such luck. Below, however, was an option for a rice ball salad. I asked if I could have that vegan (it was labeled as vegetarian) and was told that it could be made with soy sauce instead of fish sauce. (Yeah, soy sauce isn’t gluten free, but it’s not bread either, so I am eating that). I was a little confused that it was vegetarian and had fish sauce, but since it was being offered without the sauce, I was fine with the rest of the ingredients.
The only problem? My food was made in a dish that, right before, had made another dish with fish sauce. It was not washed out, and the preparation was done wearing the same gloves used to make the other meal (which includes a lot of mixing ingredients by hand). I didn’t complain because I try not to make a big deal out of things, but it was still a little gross for me to think about. Regardless, the actual salad was super delicious, with tons of good spices. So I will say that the food is good.
What I will also say is that if you are vegetarian or vegan, be wary of this place, because it’s another one of those places that seems to think vegetarianism doesn’t include fish (pro tip: seafood of any kind is not vegetarian). That said, I have heard good things about a green papaya salad (or something similar) and that sounds pretty promising and free of animal products…

Wir haben Glücksmädchen für ein abendliches Get-​together einer Konferenz mit 180 Gästen gebucht.
Es gab vorher ein Foodtasting, bei dem wir uns auf 2 Vorspeisen und 2 Hauptgänge geeinigt haben.
Die Glücksmädchen waren an dem geplanten Abend pünktlich vor Ort, Servicekräfte und zwei Köche wurden mitgebracht. Das Essen hat wirklich allen sehr gut geschmeckt! Getränke hätten auch noch von Glücksmädchen geliefert werden können. Wir hatten aber Sponsorenware und daher nur Essen und Service bestellt.
Es war wunderbar, einmal etwas asiatisches den Gästen anbieten zu können. Tolles Team, tolle entspannte Chefin und unkomplizierte Abwicklung nach der Veranstaltung.
