For neukölln, it’s expensive and for Berlin, it’s not good food. There are much better options for the same money in the surrounding!

I live a block away, see it as a canteen, a very delicious one: P Me and my bf comes here at least once a week. A very nice little Vietnamese restaurant in this area:)) friendly staffs.

No idea why people are eating here. Food isn’t that nice. Just the inventory looks nice. But isn’t the same for the taste…

Sehr leckeres Essen, typisch vietnamesisch. Die Einrichtung ist spartanisch, aber das stört nicht. Die Suppe hat geschmeckt, meine Ente hätte etwas krosser sein können, geschmacklich war sie aber super.

Sehr gute Küche, wir waren begeistert, frisch, geschmackvoll und individuell.
Sehr interessante Tees und dazu frischen Ingver Tee top. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht, besticht durch seine induviduelle Möbelwahl. Seit langer Zeit ein sehr gute asiatische Küche.

Das Problem bei vielen asiatischen Restaurant ist, dass die vegetarischen Gerichte mit tierischer Brühe gemacht werden. Im Hanoi bekommt ihr hingegen komplett vegane Gerichte. Ich selbst bin ein riesiger Fan der Sommerrollen und des Phở Salats, die beide schön leicht und würzig sind. Wer’s sahniger mag findet aber auch einige leckere Curry-​Gerichte. Dazu gibts frischen Tee oder selbst gemachten Eistee.

I don’t understand how this place has 4 stars. I decided to take a break from my Hamy and Monsieur Vuong love affair and try this place. Ordered the vegan phở, and it was incredibly unflavorful. It tasted like they didn’t season anything. Not the broth, vegetables, tofu, nothing. On top of that there’s no service, or it’s self-​service rather. And it’s a strange atmosphere. I’ll never come here again. For the same price you can get much tastier food and much better service at Monsieur Vuong.

This place is actually pretty awful. Despite the decorative flair and trendy menu, they really need a new chef.
The food comes out like porridge: mushy, somewhat tasteless, overcooked & underspiced.
What’s worse is that there’s no table service and the prices are jacked way up. So for me it’s a no-​brainer for my more discriminating tastes: I won’t be back.

Ich muss meine Bewertung von damals leider nach unten korrigieren. Mit der Zeit musste ich feststellen, dass das Essen leider nicht mehr die gute Qualität hat, die es einst ausmachte.
Die Preise haben sich erhöht (was okay bei gleichbleibender guter Qualität wäre), die Portionen wurden kleiner (weniger Fleisch oder Wan Tan in der Suppe etc.), der Geschmack lässt nach.
Die Suppe mit Tofueinlage hat so mies geschmeckt, dass ich nur mit Mühe und Not die Hälfte der Suppe essen konnte.
Sehr schade.

eine kleine vietnamesische Oase in Neukölln. Kleine Karte, frisch zubereitet, nettes Personal und unerwartet leckeres Curry (dezent scharf) mit tollem Preis (4,90 Euro). Limetteneistee probieren!

Eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten, die alle frisch und schnell zubereitet werden. Entspanntes und puristisches, jedoch stilvolles Ambiente. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist fair und im Sommer findet man auch einen Sonnenplatz an der belebten Hermannstraße.

Wirklich leckere, vietnamesische Küche. Alles wird frisch zubereitet. Dadurch sind auch Änderungswünsche überhaupt kein Problem.
Einen kleinen Abzug gibt es für die eher unbequemen Sitzmöbel und die sehr kleine, voll gestellte Toilette.

A business contact was in town and staying in the Körnerkiez area, and so after telling me she was gluten and lactose-​free, I did a quick search of nearby restaurants. I actually used to live in this area two years ago, but even so, it’s already changed quite a bit since I have left, and there were some new places to check out.
One such place is From Hanoi With Love, which sounds like a cute restaurant based on its name. That aside, the reviews seemed good and their Facebook page even has the «Vegan Vegetarian» classification selected.
Let me tell you now that if you are vegan or vegetarian, you won’t have many choices here.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. The interior here is really quite clean and minimal. It’s small, with maybe seating for 15 people max. There is tasteful art on the wall. No complaints.
The menus are kind of strangely put together, but they have German on one side and English on the other. There is also a menu board with specials (that are different from the regular menu) so be sure to check those out, though be warned they are only in German.
The food? Well, lots and lots of meat. Of course, you can sub sojafleisch (soy meat) in dishes, but be warned that about 80% of the meals are made with meat or fish sauce, so even your «vegetarian» meal will have meat in it.
There was a whole page of «street food,» meaning starters, and some of these were a bit more flexible with the meat/​no meat thing.
Of the four or so mains that were veggie friendly, there was the phở, the glass noodle salad, a green coconut curry, and some kind of tomato sauce dish (which sounded strange). My companion and I both opted for the green curry dish with fake meat.
The food came out fast and it was fine, but nothing outstanding. I liked the spice of the curry, but the fake meat was pretty gross. It wasn’t that it was bad, but there was no nice presentation of it, and it was just kind of gray-​ish strips of unseasoned meat. I think the meal would have been better if they used tofu instead of soy meat, but that’s a personal preference.
All in all, the food was filling, and our bill for two dishes and two drinks came to under € 15. So I wouldn’t say the place is bad per se. I just didn’t feel like it was a place I would ever seek out. Stop by for a quick, warm meal if you’re in the area, but if you are veggie, you might consider someplace else.

Very delicious and nice ambience

Toller Vietnamnese! Auf der Karte sind alle veganen Gerichte markiert. Auf jeden Fall einer der besten der Stadt. Leider wird in den Currys etwas Sahne statt nur Kokosmilch, und zwar laut Angestellten aus Kostengründen. Schwach! Alles ist sehr authentisch aber bei der Kokosmilch wird gespart? Deswegen nur ³⁄₅ Sternen.

Hier hat sich sicherlich jemand Gedanken gemacht, vor allem das Interieur betreffend. Als From Hanoi with Love öffnete, jubelte ich innerlich nicht die 7362. Dönerbude auf der Hermannstraße!
Die Karte ist recht überschaubar, grundsätzlich ja völlig in Ordnung. Allerdings ist man doch recht unkreativ mit der Gestaltung der Tageskarte, dort wechseln die Gerichte nur selten.
Nachdem ich letzte Woche zum ersten Mal eine vegetarische Phở dort aß, kann ich nur vor der Bestellung warnen. Zwar war die Suppe wirklich fleischfrei, allerdings auch völlig geschmacksneutral. Ich habe 5.50 EUR für eine Schale mit heißem Wasser, faden Reisnudeln und ein paar Röllchen Schluppen bezahlt im übrigen, nachdem ich die Suppe fast voll zurückgehen ließ und auf Nachfrage erwähnte, dass sie mir nicht schmeckt. Nachwürzen war kaum möglich, statt Sojasauce gibt es leider nur Fischsauce.
Überleben wird der Laden sicherlich irgendwie, ich muss dort jedenfalls nicht mehr hin.

Frische Zutaten, das Essen wird schnell vor deinen Augen zubereitet und ist super lecker. Die Preise sind fair und die Bedienung höflich und aufmerksam. Perfekt!
Schlichte, funktionale Einrichtung, gepflegt. Einziger Nachteil: In dem Laden ist es echt kalt.

This place is pretty awesome considering the area it’s in (Turkish markets, shisha lounges and doner spots). The space inside was very clean and very modern — it reminded me a little of New York? But the older Asian dudes running the spot weren’t hipsters at all, so it was cool.
Anyway, the food was tasty. I ordered the chicken coconut milk rice dish and my boyfriend ordered the beef and chili rice dish. Because we’re a couple of fat kids, we also ordered the chicken phở and the crispy spring rolls. I also ordered the lime iced tea.
My chicken coconut milk dish was DELICIOUS. This is one thing I’ve noticed about a lot of the Asian restaurants in Berlin — they all offer this same time of salady chickeny saucy rice dish, but From Hanoi With Love does it right. It wasn’t too sweet, it was definitely spicy, lots of veg, HOWEVER. The color and texture of the chicken threw me off.
My boyfriend complained about his beef dish and said it was very one note. I would agree if I ordered the same thing, but I had a few bites of his and liked it a lot. I haven’t had many beef dishes in the past year I’ve lived in Berlin, not because I don’t like beef but because beef in Berlin sucks. I’m not sure what it is, it just doesn’t taste right. This tasted right though. No gnarly, stringy bits and the beef tasted fresh.
The phở was a huge disappointment though. Considering the other Vietnamese spots in Berlin, I’d skip it at FHWL.
The spring rolls were tasty!
Breakdown:
— Phở was gnarly. Tasted old. Skip it.
— Chicken coconut milk was delicious, but the actual chicken was odd. Might try it with tofu next time? But definitely order this!
— Beef chili dish was tasty, but not spicy. Ask for extra chilis on the side.
— Spring rolls were good, but not very memorable.
— Lime iced tea was too sweet and not very tasty.
— A bunch of dudes next to us kept ordering fried duck breasts nonstop. Might have to try the duck next time?
— Affordable. Didn’t break the bank.
Definitely worth it, seems like an excellent first date spot! Not expensive at all. Will definitely be back.

Hanoi with love würde ich so als Mittelding zwischen Restaurant und Imbiß sehen. Das Essen ist total lecker und frisch zubereitet. Genau darauf kommt es an. Im Laden hängt eine Kreidetafel mit mehreren Tagesgerichten zur Auswahl. Außerdem gibt es eine Fächer-​Karte mit weiteren Gerichten (siehe Foto). Die weiße Seite der Karte ist in deutsch. Da gehe ich jederzeit gerne wieder hin.

Nice place, definitely one of the better options in an area not exactly known for its culinary flair. Service is fast and friendly, the deco is nice and the food is fresh and tasty (and good value).
I’ve visited several times over the last six months, and only had one bad meal (the beef mien bo was a little bit off on my last visit). Other than that, the spring rolls are especially tasty, as is the duck.
It would be nice if they mixed up the menu a little bit having been there regularly, it would be nice to be able to try something new for a change.
Definitely worth a visit best (only?) Vietnamese in this part of town!

endlich ein vietnamese der der institution an der hasenheide den rang abläuft (allein schon weil es nicht nur zwei gerichte gibt die lecker sind)

super schöner laden, super auswahl an speisen, super atmospäre. einziger kritikpunkt: teilweise sind die saucen mit einer mehlschwitze gemacht, was nicht ganz authentisch ist. trotzdem komme ich wieder, ua. auch wegen der moderaten preise tagesangebot um die 5EUR/​hauptgericht.

Endlich hat auch mal ein vernünftiger Laden den Weg über die Hermannstraße runtergefunden! Wir hatten als Vorspeise Chicken Satay mit Erdnusssoße und danach jeweils Phở Bo und Veggie Phở. Alles sehr lecker.
Die Bedienung war noch ein wenig unkoordiniert, aber dafür aufmerksam und freundlich. Zusammen mit der schönen Einrichtung macht das auf jeden Fall 5 Sterne. Absolut empfehlenswert!
