D’Espresso

Well well well.
Firstly, the coffee is made without love, it resembles pooey instant coffee. Disgusting twang and aftertaste off it.
Secondly, the place is pretentious — really thinks it’s the bee’s knees. Pompous staff, a bare interior and exterior design (which you can tell they’re proud of) and averagely average beverages.
Thirdly, the staff are extremely unfriendly. During my unfortunate visit to this place, the barista said ‘ciao’ to other customers who were leaving the shop, so i think «maybe this place isn’t so unwelcoming after all, I’ll greet him as I am leaving too!». As i did this, he looked up at me, burnt a hole through my face, then continued to do his monotonous task. Blatantly ignored my friendly gesture.
Give this place a miss, do not waste your time here or give them the chance and the pleasure to be arseholes.

I love this place. Great coffee, great atmosphere, FABOLOUS backed goods. The perfect neighborhood spot.

Hier hat jemand ein Auge für Details.
Sehr schönes Café mit einer angeschlossenen Bar. Service ist schnell und freundlich. Man kann draußen sitzen oder an jenem sehr schönen Tisch drinnen und natürlich an der Theke.
Sehr heller Laden mit reichhaltigem Angebot von hoher Qualität!

great coffee, nice staff and a lot to read. food is good and outside seating available. it’s not too packed.
edit: they are not always doing the best milk foam, sometimes you get kind of a coffe with milk instead of a cappuchino. as the prices are quite high for the area, this is a bit annoying

Andraschko Coffee, a finely pulled espresso shot, rich and flavorful, not overly acidic and harsh which seems to be a popular trend in Berlin these days, and a barkeep who likes to make them. Sweet and simple.

Not really sure. The coffee was better than average, but the seating arrangements were terrible, i.e. only about 7 people in there when we got there and there already was no place to sit. My wife sat on a stool that was up at the counter, but then the guy working there told her to move because she was in the place where people are supposed to order. My? — then why put a stool there?!? Helllooooo?!?
The décor was minimal, would have fit right in in Marfa — wood, cement, glass
My wife raved about the cake — chocolate espresso cheesecake. The frosting was quite tasty.
Maybe this place is meant to be more of a coffee to go place, not sure.

I love this tiny coffee shop on the corner. Their coffee is very good! I alwasys have the coffee and some lil sweets.
They made a bar next this coffee shop looks also very cool.

…great cafés pop up here like mushrooms in a forest… i swear i biked by here just a bit ago and this was still a Getränkemarkt…but suddenly, here’s D’Espresso café…
the place is terse in its design and offering but clearly refurbished with care: a lovely monolithic common wooden table takes up the majority of the floor, framed by a simple, uncluttered counter and a fantastic vintage, multi-​doored refrigerator. small bars and stools line the big windows, providing a great view out the sliding glass (also a very cool design feature) onto the seats outside and the kiez moving by. the coffee is solid and i passed over a cheese cake and brownies for a nice lemon cake with a (nicely) aggressively-​sour lemon icing.
fun music, a good mix of lingerers and passersby, tasty local coffee, this is a great addition to this little chunk between Mariannenplatz and Lausitzerplatz.
