Dada Falafel

Der Falafel Teller war ganz gut und auch der Preis ok, leider hat uns die Bedienung überhaupt nicht beachtet und seltsamerweise wurden wir nur auf Englisch bedient. Für mich kein großes Problem, aber man sollte auch auf deutsch bestellen können. Insgesamt keine schöné Erfahrung.

Preis/​Leistung ganz ok, der Falafellteller schmeckt, der Salat ist frisch. gehe dort ab und du.

I love this place. A little tricky to find; I’ve stumbled around the neighborhood every time I’ve gone looking for it. Excellent falafel and doner: very fresh and high-​quality and super-​fast. Cheap, too. This is one of those places that only really does one thing, but does it really well.

Fresh and tasty! The food is beautifully prepared and presented. The flavor is excellent. I’ve tried the falafel and the schwarma (sp?) sandwiches. Both were good, but they call it Da Da FALAFEL for a reason. ;) The other items all looked enticing, but I was trying to be economic. So the sandwiches are the way to go (at 4 euros a piece, I believe). The men who run it don’t speak much English, but they are helpful and kind.
Last tip: when they ask if you «like spicy», if you do, definitely say yes! Their special spicy sauce is amazing!

Ordered from the little takeout shop next to the restaurant twice during my recent visit to Berlin. Food was fantastic. The vegetarian platter is excellent with super fresh falafel, great hummus, haloumi, and other item. So great and inexpensive.

Came here when staying in the Mitte area of Berlin after reading good reviews.
I ordered the vegetarian dada plate, which included fried halloumi, aubergine, peppers, hummus and other different sauces and it was just amazing.
I must say the falafel was delicious, probably the best falafel I’ve eaten.
The restaurant itself is trendy and spacious with seats inside and outside. The service was quick. I even came back for a takeaway it was that good!
Would definitely recommend!
If only we had something like this in the UK.

The food was very good but the service not so much. Our waitress looked confused and did not check to see how we were doing. The falafels were delicious. made with great spices.

I love falafel but don’t have it often enough. We were heading to an event nearby so stopped by here for food — we decided to just get the mixed plate to share rather than a dish each. For € 8 the Dada mixed plate had some shredded beef (ok), three falafel (yum!), salad, a spring roll, cous cous, dips and tabouleh (or something like it). All up, it was a delicious platter — very fresh, lovely salad and it was all delicious. It also came with a side of pita bread which was perfect to stuff some of the fillings into. You can also have this platter with vegetables instead of meat.
I’d say service was just ok although the guy at the bar was super friendly. There’s an upstairs area but we didn’t check that out, and the place was pretty quiet at 5pm on a Saturday. There’s a lot of falafel places in the area so you’ve got lots of choice.

Ich hatte ein leckeres Schawarma to go. In jedem Fall top: das leckere Rindfleisch, das es in vielen anderen Imbissen nur mit Glück zu kriegen bekommt.
Gewöhnungsbedürftig fand ich eine größere Menge an Rohkost im Brot (riesige Möhrenscheiben, etwas unhandlich), und auch ist das Brot (im Gegensatz zu 2, 3 anderen Läden, bei denen ich gern mal ein Schawarma-​Sandwich hole) nicht geschlossen, sondern (wie ein klassischer Döner) offen, sehr vollgestopft und schwer zu essen.
Bei meinem ersten Besuch hatte ich denk Eindruck, hier wäre ganz neu eröffnet worden (was nicht der Fall ist), weil es sehr sehr sauber war, die Mitarbeiter aber auch ziemlich unkoordiniert erschienen und sich die ganze Zeit im Weg standen :-)
Lecker war es dennoch, Dada wird in jedem Fall wieder besucht, vor allem um auch das namensgebende Falafel zu testen!

I adore this place! Such great and not greasy tasting falafel and a large helping of it at that. Very central and easy to get to and they have a to go and a sit down part! Their outside area is fantastic on a sunny day and although lines at lunch especially for to go can get long, it is SO worth it!

Im Dada habe ich schon zu meinen Studienzeiten gegessen. Nun versuche ich zu jedem Berlin Besuch mindestens ein Mal zu Dada zu gehen. Die Falafel und Schawarma schmecken noch genau so gut und frisch wie Damals. Ich kenne keinen vergleichbar leckeren und guten Falafelladen, weltweit!

Wir hatten einen gemischten Teller. Das Essen ist seinen Preis wert, lediglich ein bißchen mehr Fleisch wäre wünschenswert gewesen. Das Personal ist freundlich und die Location ist schön. Wenn man in der Nähe ist definitiv empfehlenswert.

Nunja was soll ich sagen? Auf Grund vieler positiver Bewertungen hat es mich hier hin gezogen, meine Erwartungen waren sehr hoch, daher wurde ich wohl enttäuscht.
Es war mit mir noch ein anderer Kunde (oder Bekannter) im Laden und 2 Leute hinter der Theke. Dennoch wurde sich lieber unterhalten anstatt mich (nebenbei) zu bedienen.
Das was ich dann bekommen habe, war zwar alles sehr frisch, aber irgendwie recht lieblos zusammengekleistert und irgendwie auch nicht wirklich lecker (hatte schon wesentlich bessere Falafels). Zudem dann noch recht überteuert (besonders für Berliner Verhältnisse).
Man mag hier vmtl gut essen können, doch die Auswahl und somit Konkurrenz in Berlin ist riesig und ein zweites mal zieht es mich hier nicht mehr hin.

Sehr leckeres arabisches Essen — Ich bin hier immer wieder sehr gern! Frisch, aromatisch lecker! Der Dada Teller ist wirklich toll, egal ob vegetarisch oder mit Fleisch ist es eine Geschmacksexplosion.
Die Leckereien im Brot könnten manchmal etwas liebevoller zusammengestellt werden, doch ich denke das liegt an dem kontinuierlichen Mangel an Zeit. Schade auch, das die Soße hier lediglich eine Joghurt Soße anstelle der üblichen Sesam-​Soße ist.
Die Getränke, sei es der orientalische Tee, der frische Minztee oder ein frisch gepresster Möhrensaft ergänzen das Essen.
Gegessen wird in einem modernen Ambiente, am Donnerstag sogar mit Live Jazz Musik und das alles zu eine tollen Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis.
Der Service ist super, sowie die Aufmerksamkeit und Freundlichkeit.

Delicious, inexpensive and go hungry because you are served a lot of food. We got the vegetarian sampler, tabbouleh salad and couscous salad and that was our meal for lunch/​dinner. Quality falafel, spicy sauce, and such fresh ingredients. Highly recommended.

Sehr guter Ladenimbiss mit frisch zubereiteten Falafel, Humus, Lamm-​/​Rindfleischspieß, gegrilltem Gemüse, Halloumi-​Käse wahlweise im Brot/​Fladen oder auch als leckeres Tellergericht. Der typisch arabische schwarze Tee ist auch sehr lecker.
Der Inhaber ist oft anzutreffen und vermittelt eine warmherzige Betreuung und ist gern auch zu einem Gespräch bereit, sofern der Laden nicht gerade sehr voll ist.
Ich halte dort gern bei einem kleinen Hunger an, idealerweise mit dem Fahrrad oder den Öffentlichen, da Parkplätze im Umkreis sehr knapp sind. In den warmen Tagen macht das Draußensitzen auch richtig Spaß.
Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

Very tasteful Arab cuisine near Oranienburger Str.
This is one of the few Arab restaurants where you can get a Schwarma that is not from chicken! Lamb meat with huge slices of carrots and cucumbers with a special sauce… Absolutely mouth watering! The kitchen itself is very small but the place expanded to the location right next to it, where you can sit in the winter and enjoy art and music, oh, and you can enjoy a cup of chocolate, and I don’t mean the usual hot chocolate you can get around the corner, but actual melted chocolate!

Strong concept. Fast. Good price.
Cheap but quite OK food quality, toilet was clean also.
I will go there again def.
But seems beverage isn’t good. Don’t order coffee don’t order cocktail.

Super Schwarma, Falafel und Haloumi Sandwiches und Teller zu einem angemessenen Preis. Der Imbiss selber ist klein und eng, man kann aber auch im Café neben an sitzen und bestellen.

Super fresh and hot falafel (3.50)! The scharf (spicy) sauce is actually spicy and tastes great! The vegetables were fresh and complimentary. Service was instant. Pretty grab-​and-​go place, but way healthier and fresher than your typical kebab shop.
Perks for tourists: there is a kebab shop right next door in case your party isn’t settled on a lunch option. You can follow linienstr. to shopping locations and coffee shops or head over to the museum island from here as you walk with your falafel!

Das Essen hier ist zweifellos lecker und zum fairen Preis. Wir haben drinnen gesessen und hatten keine Probleme mit der Bedienung.
Nur die Life-​Musik war für den kleinen Laden einfach zu laut. (Warum glauben eigentlich alle Musiker, dass nur elektronisch verstärkte Musik richtige Musik ist?)

Total überschätzt! Der Laden ist immer voll (mindestens zu 50% von Touristen), obwohl es eng und laut ist. Die Soße ist ziemlich fad (das Brot sowieso), die wenigen frischen Kräuter machen das Sandwich auch nicht interessanter.
Aber: Die gegrillten Auberginen sind einfach köstlich! Im Sandwich für 3,50, glaube ich. Dafür werde ich dann wohl doch immer mal wieder hingehen.

Overall, the food was 3 stars, but the service was below par. Not something I would go out of my way to try – not worth your time.
We ordered and waited forever to pay. The least he can say was, «take a seat, and I will get to you.» Nope, I stood there just waiting for him to prep food for 5 minutes before I paid him.

Ich war an einem SA abend gegen 24 Uhr dort.
Ich hatte mir aufgrund der Rezensionen viel versprochen aber wurde leider enttäuscht.
Ich hatte einen Rinder schawarma der leider sehr sehr trocken und wenig gewürzt war. (3,50 €)
Meine Begleiter hatten Falafel und waren zufrieden.
Ansonsten ist alles sauber und die Leute sind freundlich.

Delicious, fast, and cheap! Prices are around 3,50 for a sandwich or 5 for a plate.
We got four plates for five people and quite enjoyed our dinner.
Options: falafel, fried eggplant, halumi (fried goat cheese), lamb shawerma. The falafel is incredible fluffy and tasty, with five to a plate, and all the plates come with a mildly spiced and very creamy hummus + salad with cucumbers, carrots, and honey mustard. They were out of shawarma by the time we got there (about 8 p.m., the place was packed with locals with bike helmets perched on their tables), so we got the three other options and a couscous salad, which was also delicious and slightly spicy.
I’m not a huge halumi fan but the others liked it, and I did enjoy the eggplant and couscous a lot. We also loved that he took our order and then fried the falafel, halumi, and eggplant fresh for our takeout boxes. Super cool little shop for a cheap eat in the middle of Mitte.
Someone said they avoid Oranienberger strasse, which we’ve also been told, but this is on Linienstrasse. Adored the food, and the atmosphere was also very chill with all the packed picnic tables outside.

Excellent restaurant sans prétention. La cuisine méditerranéenne est savoureuse. Les plats sont préparés sous vos yeux. Les falafels sont délicieux.

Falafel gibt es in Berlin wie Sand am Meer, ein Grund mehr, einen Beitrag zu einem Imbiss zu schreiben, der sich positiv von der Menge abhebt.
Kurz und knapp: Frisch, lecker und man kann wahlweise auch noch Hummus dazu haben. Preis/​Leistung finde ich gut, gerade, wenn man den Locationbonus draufrechnen möchte.
Nebenan gibt es die dazugehörige Bar, in der man das Essen vom Imbiss auch essen kann. Als wir dort waren spielte und sang eine Dame am Klavier. Die Einrichtung ist sehr stylisch, die Bedienung leider etwas unaufmerksam.

Des excellents falafels pour pas cher (3,5 €)!, dans un joli cadre qu’on attend pas dans un resto rapide de ce type .
Seul petit défaut: si vous optez pour les falafels/​shawarma dans le pain à kebab, vous risquez de rester sur votre faim!

Leckere Falafel zu fairem Preis. Die Falafelbällchen waren sehr würzig, mit der Sesamsoße aber nicht zu trocken. Das Gemüse war frisch und das Brot auch nicht 0−8−15.
Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett, und wir haben uns gut über ihre Herkunft und die Essgewohnheiten in Palästina und im Libanon unterhalten. Am Ende durfte ich noch die anderen Soßen probieren (Auberginencreme, scharfe Soße, Hummus und Mangosoße). Für 3,50 € ein perfekter Deal.

Their menu is quite simple and there is an English version! Walking in the food stand on a Tuesday night I decided to choose the same plate as a customer who sat just outside:

This plate was as beautiful as it tasted! The Dada Plate was definitely a work of art! The festive red and green colors of the tomato/​cilantro salad, the orange sliced carrots and cool green cumbersome on a bed of salad, the charming yellow honey mustard, dancing with the neutral and whites in between of hummus and babaganoush! Of course we mustn’t forget that slab of sultry red chili paste! On this canvas were 3 falafel, all placed separated from each other I bring weight and balance, each with a wonderful crispy texture on the outside and a moist center that have gave me the vest falafel experience I ever had! I ordered this with meat, which I am guessing lamb, but I’m sorry to say it was quite mediocre; it tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile. It wasn’t terrible bit I ate it all. To beak the round shapes was a small fried filo-​dough wrap that had little greens in it. It tasted like a vegetarian Chinese eggroll to me. The cous-​cous was fine as well. All the various textures and flavors and food temperatures came together so wonderfully! I loved it very much!
This dish also came with a pita bread but I didn’t bother with it. I shared this with my sis and it was just the right amount of food if you’re looking to have dessert after! ;)
Although this place was somewhat of a food stand, you have to option I waking next door to the DADA GALERIE for seating where it’s also an art gallery and bar for drinks! There are optional designs upstairs as long as you being all your dirty dishes back down to the good stand.
This place definitely has the art gallery feel that is great for nightlife. I really enjoyed the artsy dada movement atmosphere!
I’d come back because the food was great, it was reasonably priced, the staff was friendly and just a wonderful atmosphere for a date or outing with friends!

Lecker Falafel. Mehr kann man schon fast nicht mehr sagen. Wer schnell nen guten Falafel sucht, wird dort fündig. Der Laden ist aber leider recht klein und gerade im Winter muss man schnell essen oder frieren.
Nebenan gibt es den Falafelteller von Dada zum im warmen essen, was aber von außen gesehen leider nicht so schnell klar wird. Daher ein kleiner Abzug.

The charm of this place makes it worth a visit. The interior is artsy yet comfortable and the design is Euorpean Chic. The food is not bad either and the place has several options for drinks. This is probably a good place just to come and hang out, yet no one seemed to be doing this during my visit.
Tip: This is not a place to buy typical German food, but if you want to try something different, it is worth a visit.

Der Falafel ist fantastisch, habe nie einen besseren gegessen. Schöné Stimmung, bunte Terrasse, abends manchmal Jazz.

I’m not sure if there is a city which I love more right now than Berlin. I have spent there an awesome week in July. Dada Falafel is absolutely one of my favourite spots. I really appreciate prices there — in the center of the city you can eat for 3,50 € or 5,50 €. I’m not a biggest fan of falafel to be honest but haloumi is delicious. You can bring your friends and enjoy meal in the fresh air.
Nearby there is a perfect place for ice creams for a dessert. I don’t remember name unfortunately but you can find it easily. This is also a perfect area for a walk after meal — especially Oranienburger Strasse with Neue Synagogue and Postfuhramt (old and beautiful building of postal service).

La qualité de la nourriture est remarquable: je recommande en particulier l’assiette de shawarma au bœuf. Je né sais pas dans quoi ils marinent la viande mais c’est une merveille. Les sauces, le houmous, tout s’y accordent parfaitement.
Prix super abordables: 5 € pour l’assiette susnommée, voire 3,50 € pour les mêmes ingrédients dans un pain à kebab.
Malheureusement j’enlève une étoile pour le service lent et pas coopératif. Dommage.
Terrasse donnant sur une petite place tout au bout de l’Oranienburger Str. À l’intérieur, c’est assez design, avec une ambiance qu’on n’attendrait pas dans un resto à falafels, avec petite musique jazz et même piano.
Il y a aussi un comptoir pour la vente à emporter.

This place has great food, but the service is terrible. We started with a hummus appetizer for the 6 of us, which they brought out after an extended period of time, but only brought one piece of pita. When we asked for more pita, it took 15 minutes, during which time we had to stare hungrily at the half-​eaten plate. We didn’t even get silverware! To add insult to injury, the table next to us got their entire meal, pita included, before our pita got there, and they had arrived after us. The hummus itself was delicious, served with tahini and salad, and was also vegan.
I had the falafel sandwich, which was very good. Note that the «beef shawarma» is actually lamb.
The final problem occurred when we got the bill. We asked for a certain amount back in change, but instead were charged that amount. We had even clarified that we wanted that amount *back* when someone in our party asked, and the waiter gave us the coin part in 50 cent pieces so by the time we counted the change he had already walked away. It definitely put a damper on the experience, which we had enjoyed despite the pita problems up until that point.

Ich finde diesen Laden sehr ausgefallen und sehr gut. Die orientalischen Köstlichkeiten haben wirklich gut geschmeckt. Die Falafel-​Bällchen waren frisch gemacht und sehr heiß.
Der Raum neben dem Imbiss ist sehr groß. Man muss allerdings erst realisieren, dass man sich selbst bedienen muss. Ich fand den gemischten Teller für diesen Preis vollkommen okay.
Auch der Gewürz– und der Pfefferminztee waren klasse.
Und die Toilette ist mehr als außergewöhnlich! ;-)

Ok, I cannot speak for food. I hear the food is good. We did not try the food. But they were advertising cocktails outside so we came in for cocktails. And on the subject of cocktails, this place was bad.
Really bad.
It was packed with diners as we went in but told there was seating upstaurs. There was, in a small and completely blank alcove with white walls and grey seats. We were then prompty forgot about and had to ask the waiter if we should come downstairs for drinks. No no, he’ll come up.
The cocktails were all 6 euros and came on a one sided sheet. They ranged from OK (like the bright blue Swimming Pool which tasted like a Pina Colada only sweeter) to the worst margarita in history (so bitter everyone who took a sip got an ‘I bit into a lemon’ face.) A couple of the people in the group don’t drink so they got a yoghurt drink, which typically does come with salt, but this was like salad dressing in a cup. Mint, yoghurt and a ton of salt.
There was live music and the downstairs was pretty, which is the only thing that saves this place. And the food I hear is pretty good.
But sorry Dada, you advertise cocktails, you get judged on cocktails.

Obwohl ich eigentlich nicht der Falafel Fan bin, begeistert mich der Laden hier, es ist frisch und lecker zubereitet, die Jungs sind gut drauf, und immer Schlangen vor dem Geschäft, was ja auch für das Produkt spricht. Preis Leistung gut. Parkplatzsituation naturgemäß in dieser Gegend schlecht.

In der Mittagspause wollten mein spanischer Kumpel Mauricio und ich hier Schawarma essen. Wundervolle Idee, hätten wir uns auch sparen können das Ganze. Bedienung war nicht so nett und der Scharwarmateller für seine 5,00 EUR auch nicht gross. In Kreuzberg gibts da ehrlich gesagt mehr fürs Geld und nettere Bedienung. Einziger Pluspunkt Mauricio und ich fanden das Fleisch lecker und schön weich. Scheinbar denkt man sich in dem Laden, dass nur Touris vorbeikommen ist mein Verdacht, daher sicher die mangelnde Freundlichkeit und das bisschen Essen für den Preis. Also müsst ihr entscheiden, ob ihr es testen wollt aber ich rate es euch ganz ehrlich in dem Fall nicht.

I saw dada falafel in a couple of guides and had it on my list of places to try. Took care of that last night. We got the sampler and a falafel pita. And for the hell of it a mojito instead of a beer (crazy I know).
The pita was very good. Top notch veggies and just the right amount of sauce. But of course the star was the falafel. Cooked just right and a lovely combo of spices. Loved the cumin they put in. So much of the falafel in the states is bland, so I really enjoyed the spice. The sampler plate was good but a couple of misses. Good to try once but stick with the falafel pita or plate instead. Just about everyone sitting around us was eating the same.
I did want to try the shwarma, but they were already out. Couldn’t help but wonder a out that if they were already sold out by 7:30. Have to go back and try that as well. Btw, the monitor, A very fine and enjoyable version.

On m’a dit que c’était le meilleur falafel de Berlin, et bien, j’en connais un meilleur à Kreuzberg (adresse prochainement sur qype).
Le falafel était bon, mais la portion pas très généreuse et je né sais pas, il manquait un petit quelquechose petit détail, ils font des kebabs à la viande de boeuf, si vous êtes curieux.

c’est marrant, les commentaires en français disent tous que c’est pas cher, tandis que les autres, en anglais et allemand, se scandalisent de ce falafel soit disant 50 centimes trop cher. whaou!
Ici on est quand même dans une des rues les plus touristiques de Berlin, envahie de pseudo bars débiles pour touristes lambdas. alors cet oasis de bon goût fait du bien ici, et puis, retournez au fin fond de wedding si vous voulez du kebab à 1 euro!
Bref, cela dit, ce falafel à 3 euros est simplement délicieux. La salade est croquante, les gros morceaux de carotte aussi. La sauce au sésame sublime le tout. Bön, le sandwich au haloumi pourrait quand même avoir un peu plus de haloumi que de salade, ce serait pas de refus.
Apparemment les bonhommes possèdent la galerie d’art juste à côté. C’est pas super cool ça?
EDIT: retourné une fois, le schawarma était un peu fade (il faut aimer la viande schawarma au boeuf, et le tout un peu trop herbivore). Je descend à 4 étoiles. Non mais.

Très bons falafels, ils ont la réputation d’être les meilleurs de Berlin.
L’accueil est très bon avec une radio jazz, les produits sont de bonne qualité et le résultat est délectable.
Situé en face du Tacheles, pas cher (3euros), ça vaut le coup.

Les meilleurs Falafels à mon avis, et à prix bas ! Situé juste en face (ou presque) de Tacheless.
