What better place to end a «currywurst for dinner everyday» streak than at Curry Mitte? Answer: None. This is the place to go for a hassle-​free, simple, delicious bite to eat.
In total contrast to the sit down dinners I’d been used to during the rest of my trip, Curry Mitte is almost like a breath of fresh air. Or, well, greasy air because wow does it smell heavenly in here! You can even see them grilling the sausages and frying everything behind the glass.
The currywurst is served cut up into small rounds, doused with ketchup and a healthy sprinkling of curry powder, of course. Fries are cut into thicker, American style bistro like fries. Taste of perfection as the sausage had a nice juicy flavour accented with the wonderful spice of the curry powder. Fries were crispy enough but they really are just the sidekick to the superhero of this dish. Simple yet delicious.
I tried my best at ordering in German again and ultimately failed (again) but the guys working there were really friendly and switched to English for me. It didn’t take long to order and it look even less to get my food. I wanted it for takeaway and they didn’t really have any special boxes for that. Instead they did their best to wrap everything up in foil so it wouldn’t spill on my walk home. It held decently well but I appreciated their effort more than anything.
Location is small but if you prefer to eat in they have a countertop area inside as well as some tables outside. If you’re in the area this is a definite must-​try!

Unbedingt Curry Wurst ohne Darm essen. Geiles Ding! Curry Mitte ist ein Muss nach jeder Veranstaltung oder Action am Rosenthaler Platz.

My two best friends and I were looking for the best currywurst near to where we were staying, and a random book that we found in an art gallery pointed us here. It did not disappoint!
Granted, we are not exactly connoisseurs of currywurst, seeing as this was our first experience, but it was really delicious, and fun to watch the guy making it right in front of us. Good prices and fairly quick too.
It was a nice day so we took our currywurst — two sausages and one «meatball,» i.e., beef patty — and our fries to one of the standing tables outside and enjoyed our meal al fresco. Nice location on a big (but not crazy) street, surrounded by cute little shops and apartments.

Daher auch hier mein Bericht zu Curry Mitte.
Au weia! Googelt man nach «Curry Mitte» liest man schon «Beste Currywurst Berlin». Das bedeutet bei mir erst mal Augen auf! Und der der erste Blick war auch gar nicht so schlecht. Aber der zweite…
Wer es nicht schafft die Würste vernünftig zu braten schmeißt sie noch mal ins heiße Fett– Na toll!

Die Wurst kann man aber doch noch essen. Die Sauce mag zwar selbst gemacht sein überzeugte mich aber nicht. Die scharfen Zwiebeln waren ganz nett.
Zum abtöten aller Geschmacksnerven werden noch diverse Scharfmacher angeboten, was ja jetzt so «Modern» ist. Damit kann man aber auch gerne mal die Qualität eines Produktes übertünchen. Wer zu scharf gegessen hat, gegenüber gibt es zwei Eiscafés, die auf euren Besuch warten um zu löschen.
Zur besten Currywurst in Berlin reicht es bei mir noch lange nicht. Zitat von weiter unten: «Standardwurst mit Standardsoße, Currypulver drüber und fertig.» Eine extra scharfe Sauce, nicht die Tröpfchen aus den kleinen Flaschen, wird noch für zusätzlich 30 Cent angeboten.
Ansonsten, der kleine Laden ist sauber und die Preise für die Lage angemessen günstig.
Es gibt von mir knappe drei Sterne. Für Touristen und Neu-​Berliner keine schlechte Wahl.

Bin ja, muss ich gestehen, kein großer Currywurst Fan.
Aber vor Weihnachten war ich mit nem Freund nach dem Theater noch unterwegs und dann hatte er noch Hunger. Nachts um 2 ist das selbst in Berlin schwer, aber zum Glück hatte Curry Mitte noch auf.
Ich habe eine Christmas Currywurst gegessen, die meiner Meinung nach sehr lecker war, mit Kardamom, Zimt und Mandeln. Aber auch die normale war echt gut. Und so ab 3 war auch ordentlich was los, lauter Nachteulen.
Der Typ hinter der Theke war lustig und freundlich.
Also bevor ich verhunger würde ich da nachts auch wieder hin gehen: D

If you are in Berlin, this place is a must! It was busy on a Monday night and unfortunately they had run out of fries. I still ordered 3 currywursts and had to stop myself from ordering more. The man working was very friendly as well. If you love onions don’t forget the onion sauce! Delicious!

Direkt am Rosenthaler Platz liegt dieser Stehimbiss, der uns trotz heftigem Geräuschpegel zu einer frisch zubereiteten Currywurst animiert. Für 2 Euro gibt es diese Wurst ohne Darm mit einem warmen Brötchen. Der Imbiss sieht sehr sauber aus, einige wenige Hochsitzplätze versprechen kostenfreies Kino beim Rausschauen. Der Service ist frei nach Berliner Schnauze sehr knapp, jedoch freundlich. Mit Menüs und Preisrabatten wird aktiv geworben (Currywurst, Pommes und Getränk 4,80 Euro) — verständlich wenn wir uns rings herum umsehen: die Anzahl an Schnell-​Essmöglichkeiten scheint unbegrenzt. Insgesamt geht dieser kleine Abendsnack in Ordnung.

Viele Leute haben hier ja 4 Sterne vergeben. Kann ich absolut nicht nachvollziehen.
Habe mir da heute ein frühes Mittagessen gegönnt und war richtig enttäuscht.
Schlechtes Fleisch, kalte Wurst, viel zu fettig. Und die Pommes waren auch eine Katastrophe. Auch kalt, labbrig und total versalzen.
Vielleicht schmeckt das Touristen, die noch keine gute Wurst gegessen haben. Ich werd sicherlich nicht wiederkommen.

Oh man. Was für eine Enttäuschung. Fettige Wurst. Curry Sauce viel zu süß. Und die Pommes waren kalt. Kann mir nicht erklären warum es hier so viele gute Bewertungen gab.
Fazit: lieber meiden.

War früher gut. Aber seit einiger Zeit extrem fettige Pommes. Und nach der Wurst hat mein Abend ziemlich rumort. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Nice small authentic place, with eccentric chef. Offer currywurst with fries and a drink for € 4.5, a nice deal.

Sehr leckere Currywurst zu gutem Preis! 1,80 € für eine Currywurst ohne alles. Lohnt sich für den kleinen Hunger. Variationen mit Pommes oder direkt als Menü Currywurst-​Pommes-​Softdrink für 4,50 € auch sehr gut! Freundlicher Service noch dazu.

This is my favorite place to get a curry wurst in Berlin. For less that 5 Euros you can get a curry wurst, pommes and a fanta. I tried the Neuland wurst and wasn’t too impressed. I would stick with the regular or even try the frikadel. The frikadel was amazing. It is definitely my new favorite.

Eine der besten Würste der Stadt! Gemütlich ist hier nix, aber geschmacklich kenne ich nichts besseres.

The staff is inconsistent and each of them has a very own very Berlin personality. From sloppy answers to mild insults, they are very personal and charming. Typically Berlin.
The Curry sausage comes in the skin and no-​skin varieties and with ketchup or home made hot sauce (which tastes great). If that’s not enough, you can try to beat the scoville scale and try a really hot sauce.
The fries are super crispy and as good as fries get in Berlin. The crowd is untypical for Mitte: people are reasonable and nice. Blue and white collar

Ich liebe diesen Laden. Unglaublich leckere Currywurst und die Pommes sind auch nicht von schlechten Eltern. Ich würde gar behaupten, dass das der beste Currywurstladen ganz Berlins ist. Heute Abend geht es wieder zum Schlemmen hin.

Stumbled upon this place while exploring the city and popped in for a quick bite. The currywurst + fries were so delicious I actually went back and got a second order. Such a heavenly little culinary gem so readily available at my whims. Overall, great food, nice staff, awesome service!

Die Duelle sind groß! Über die Berliner Currywurst kann auf Partys immer diskutiert werden kann! Curry-​Mitte gehört definitiv zu den TOP 10! Viel Angebot — ob soft oder scharf — sind einer der Pluspunkte.
Individuelle Soße, knusprige Pommes und große Portionen lassen das Herz höher schlagen.

Äußerst solide Currywurst. Auf einer Stufe mit Curry 36.
Hier kann man nichts falsch machen.

Die Currywurst schmeckt und man kann sie sogar mit besserem Gewissen in Bio-​Qualität genießen. Die Leute hinter der Theke sind immer freundlich und man kann drinnen oder draußen sitzen, wenn es nicht gerade völlig überfüllt ist.
Das eigentlich Highlight für mich waren allerdings die Pommes mit Knoblauchsoße. Leider gibts dieses Soße nicht mehr. somit kein Grund mehr, extra herzufahren. Schade!
Da das an der allgemeinen Qualität des Ladens nicht so viel ändert, nur 1 Stern Abzug — für mich ganz persönlich sind es aber mindestens 3 Sterne Abzug.

Ahhhh Currywurst… One of my fondest memories of Berlin.
We were staying at The Circus Hotel and Curry Mitte was right next to it. On our first night in Berlin, we went to a few bars in the area and on our way home, we found ourselves hungry. We stopped by Curry Mitte and got currywurst, fries, and beer. For those of you wondering what currywurst is, it’s sausage deep fried for about 2 minutes, then cut into 1 cm thick slices, smothered in ketchup and curry powder. I didn’t know ketchup and curry powder go so well together! Their fries were also delicious, they serve it with mayo (trust me, forget your diet, get the mayo when they ask you if you want it on your fries!).
Sausage, fries (pommes frites as they call it), and any drink you want (including beer) = 4,50 euro. What a great deal! Open till super late. We loved it so much that we went back next day. I’m pretty sure we would have gone back again if we had more time in Berlin.
The guy who runs the shop is very friendly too. 5 stars all the way!

This was by far the BEST currywurst we have had in Berlin hands down! PLUS their fries were sooo delicious! The service was fast and the meal was inexpensive. When we got back to the states we have been hitting as many currywurst place in Los Angeles to TRY and get that taste back, and sadly we have not found any that come close! LOVED IT!

Well, it’s my last day in Berlin as a semi-​permanent resident… and thus I had a few boxes to check off.

My colleague and I walked over to Curry Mitte for a quick lunch. It’s a simple concept. Currywurst (the equivalent of sausage, ketchup, curry powder) and fries. I skipped the fries and went straight for the currywurst. I watched it boil in some type of hot viscous liquid (oil? I don’t know, whatever it was… good), then it was sliced up, doused in curry and dashed with powder, served to me. My pal had fries with his and a drink.
We were in and out in 10 minutes, and under 8 euros for both.
They do what they do quite well. This is a fast food type place, but everything is made fresh (though I wouldn’t call it healthy). It was quick, filling and certainly could become a habit if I were staying.
Currywurst: check. And with 12 hours to spare.

They offer the most tastiest pommes around the area! Of course their currywurst and homemade sauce are very tasty as well!

So far the best curry wurst I’ve eaten in Berlin better than Curry36 at Mehringdamm but also more expensive (sausage + fries = 3.40). The fries were also tasty and the guy behind the till pleasant enough. The location is also great for going out before/​afterwards though it does get pretty crowded.

This place was directly adjacent to our hotel (The Circus Hotel) and was a good place for a quick currywurst on your way home. I mean, let’s be honest, it’s a hot dog fried up in about 1 cm of oil on a grilltop, sliced up, and then covered in curry powder.
In other words: awesome.
It’s cheap, to boot.

Oh wow! Only just remembered that we went to this as well while we were in Berlin. In fact we popped in several times when we got peckish, as it was attached to our hotel. Now evidently I haven’t partaken in the sausage (stop sniggering back there) because I don’t eat meat, but I can confirm that the pommes here are excellent. As is the curry sauce, the ketchup and the spiced salt they pile them with. Delish. Oh and I can also tell you through my carnivore boyfriend that the sausage is supreme.
In fact, there’s a famous currywurst place in Kreuzberg which always has queues right down the street. And Chris is firmly of the belief that our little Curry Mitte, right below our hotel room proudly displaying an awesome Fight Club poster, is miles better. So is it Mitte’s best kept secret? Who knows! All I know is that if you’re staying your last night in the Circus Hotel, you’ve got Becks Lime on ice upstairs and you’re watching some laptop TV, you can easily snaffle two portions of pommes. Yum.

Cheap, tasty «street» food, perfect for a late-​night meal for a tired traveler. For € 4, you get Currywurst, Pommes, and a beer. The guy who worked here was pretty nice, even to a deer-​in-​headlights tourist, which is always much appreciated.

Dass am Rosenthaler Platz seit einiger Zeit eine Wurstbude aufgemacht hat, ist sogar mir zu Ohren gedrungen. Hab sie gleich mal ausprobiert!

War durchaus lecker. Das nächste Mal bekam ich eine «neue» Soße angeboten. Nicht, dass ich was gegen Soßen habe, warum nur gleich so aufdringlich?
Trotzdem, Sonntags beim Waschen im Waschsalon 115 gegenüber habe ich gleich zwei Leute mit dabei gehabt. Denen hat die Wrst auch ganz gut geschmeckt.
Weniger ist manchmal mehr! Lasst diese blöden Zusatzverkäufe, macht anständige Wurst und seit einfach immer für mich da, wenn ich eine brauche ;)

Da ich dort nachts eh immer viel unterwegs bin, kommt es gut und gerne vor, dass ich dort hineinstolpere und zum ausnüchtern né Art Mantaplatte bestelle. Allerdings verzichte ich gern auf Ketchup und Majo für die tolle Knofisoße, die zeckt und schmeckt!
Am nächsten Morgen bereut mein Umfeld zwar meine Fressattake, aber mir gehts noch immer gut! Und darum sollte es ja gehen!
Mittlerweile bin ich per du und Vornamen mit einem der Mitarbeiter, wodurch das warme Gefühl einer heißen Currywurst mit Pommes oder Kartoffelspalten noch durch den persönlichen Kontakt angeheizt wird. (Das ist jetzt nicht falsch zu verstehen! Man lernt einfach auch mal in Currywurstbuden nette Leute kennen!)
Aber in erster Linie kam ich dort öfter hin, weil mir eben das Essen mundet! Und dabei wird jetzt nur auch noch mehr gequatscht und lustig rumgeblödelt! Was will man mehr?
