Hotel restaurant that offers fresh Thai/​Laos cuisine. Friendly staff and free wifi. Try the lunch bento box. It’s only Bento in name as it means you can try 3 small dishes and a drink for 8 €.

Tolles Ambiente und wirklich netter, aufmerksamer Service. Leider kann das restliche Essen nicht auf diesem Niveau mithalten, die Sommerrollen und Wantans waren sehr spärlich gefüllt und unsere Hauptspeisen fad. Aber die hausgemachten Getränke waren gut.
Ein angenehmer Ort um was zu trinken und den Abend ausklingen zu lassen aber weniger um gut zu speisen.

Der Laden ist direkt neben unserem Berliner Büro und kämpft gerade mit Sisaket, die auf der anderen Seite von unserem Büro sind, wer der Lieblingsasiate wird.
Das tolle hier: es gibt alle Gerichte auch in kleinen Portionen, damit man sich das selbst zusammenstellen kann und mehr zu probieren hat.
Atmosphäre, Bedienung und Preise stimmen auch.
Was das Essen selbst angeht: Bilder sagen mehr als tausend Worte.

Avan is the the proof that Berlin can do creative Asian cuisine. And like a hidden gem, this place feels a little out of this world. Make your way into the Japanese designer store, up the winding stairs to the first level. Once you know it you’re standing in the middle of this small restaurant.
A couple of tables, and a daily changing menu of lunch items. You pick either a combination of 3 dishes or select single ones. My recommendation is to go with the BENTO BOX (8 Euro) plus two more items (2 Euro each).

ONIGIRI — perfect Japanese rice snacks by
— choose beef, Japanese omelette, or chicken.
LAOTIAN CURRY W/​CHICKEN — topped with cabbage the rice and curry was excellent
DUMPLING SOUP — Chinese dumpling in a savory miso-​like hot soup
PHO BO — phở with beef in a well-​done broth
I went for the meat versions but you can get every dish vegetarian, too. Open from 12−10pm. Get there early — Avan is not so much of a secret spot anymore.

Ich liebe das Avan! Vor allem zur Mittagszeit die Bento-​Box inkl einem Getränk!
Super nettes Personal, total leckeres Essen (Thai Nudelsalat, Curry, Suppe und alles andere auch), faire Preise, schöné Atmosphäre, zum Abschluss vietnam. Kaffee… Immer wieder gerne!

Este lugar es absolutamente genial.
Trabajaba a muy poca distancia y solía ir al menos una vez por semana cuando aún tenían el local antiguo, muy pequeñito e intimo.
Los dueños son fantasticos, super amigables y siempre con una sonrisa en la cara. Antes era un poco problematico ir a comer ya que siempre estaba lleno, había muy pocas sillas. Ahora desde el traslado me imagino que les ira mucho mejor.
Me temía que el local perdiera esa ambientación o la calidad de comida con el traslado pero nada de eso ha sucedido, son simplemente geniales, la comida es deliciosa, de verdad. No hay mejor deal que la Bento box, tres platos a elegir y bebida incluida.
Tenéis que probarlo!

Mein Lieblings-​Mittags-​Asiate ist 100m weiter gezogen, größer, länger offen und mit ein paar neuen Gerichten.
Heute war die Eröffnung und wir wurden vom Geschäftsführer unten an der Tür persönlich begrüßt. Ich weiß nicht, ob er mich erkannt hat oder ob das einfach seine Art ist. Spielt aber auch keine Rolle, da es in jedem Fall sehr freundlich war.
Damit das Restaurant gut läuft wurden alle Gäste eingeladen. Auch ein kleines Plus. ;)
Das Essen war sehr lecker, wie ich es von Avan auch nicht anders gewohnt bin. Das Ambiente ist schlicht aber sehr schick und der Service ist so freundlich, dass man manchmal vergisst, dass man es mit Angestellten zu tun hat. Genau mein Ding! ^^
Ich würde diesen Laden jedem ohne zu zögern weiterempfehlen und wenn ihr noch nicht da gewesen seid, dann Bookmarked diesen Laden — DRINGEND!
