The food here actually deserves 4 stars but with the amusing atmosphere and service and more importantly the ever flowing free uzo shots they easily earned an extra star.

Ouzo flatrate für alle! ;)
Gemessen am durchschnittlichen Alkoholverbrauch pro Person sind selbst die Speisen die nicht auf der Mittagskarte stehen ein echtes Schnäppchen. Mit Salat, Brot und allen Beilagen kommt man mit dem Asteria Teller absolut an die Grenze dessen, was man als trainierter, routinierter und kampferprobter Fleischfresser mit aller Macht in sich reinstopfen kann ;)
Mein Favorit ist immer noch das Bifteki, dass mengenmäßig nah an den Asteria Teller ran kommt. Ein absolutes muss für jeden, der Freitag mittag nach einer geistig anstrengenden Woche die physische Herausforderung sucht. Hier ist es immer lecker, man wird herzlich mit Handschlag begrüßt und verabschiedet. Der Espresso danach geht auch aufs Haus. Ich freu mich auf die Neueröffnung!

Beste Restaurant was ich kenne. Personal sehr sehr freundlich. Essen grosse Portionen und sehr lecker. Atmosphäre super und guzu wird ganze zeit nachgefüllt, aufs Haus. Alle male die ich jetzt da war habe ich den laden nie nüchtern verlassen können ;-) wenn du zum Schluss dann die Rechnung möchtest, kriegst du noch ein kleinen Espresso, was man nötig hat, nach soviel guzu: D und bisschen Obst dazu.(naklar auch aufs haus) Also muss man kennen und lohnt sich der Besuch. Preise gehen auch voll kommen klar. Super Restaurant

Persönliche Begrüßung, Hammer essen, nette Leute, gerne wieder, wenn man nicht auf sein Schnapsglas achtet wird es nix mit nüchtern nach hause Gehn es wird ständig reichlich Ouzo nachgeschenkt,

Essen lecker, Service und Extras weltklasse. Wir hatten noch nicht unsere Jacken abgelegt, da standen schon zwei Gläser Ouzo auf dem Tisch (und dabei ist es nicht geblieben). Viel Freundlichkeit, kleines Dessert und den Espresso gibt es umsonst. Große Portionen. Gerne wieder!

Super Essen und Super Stimmung! Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen !!! Komme sehr gerne wieder! .Man sollte Ouzo mögen, denn der fließt reichlich

Faustdicke ausgebackene Ringe aus Calamari Tuben. Ein Batzen stichfester Joghurtcreme. Ein wilder Haufen leicht verkochter Brokkoli. Vorweg ein Simpelsalat mit Eisbergblättern und sauren Karottenstiften. Klingt nicht so raffiniert? Ist es auch nicht. Im Asteria liebt man offenbar die Fritteuse, nicht aber die Gewürze. Die gemischte Fischplatte ist eine Ode ans fade Fettgebackene. Leider ist alles etwas zu weit gegart. Was bleibt dem Gast also übrig? — Die imposante Menge zusammen mit dem Knoblauchdonner des Tzatziki und dem Ouzo runterspülen. Die Stimmung in dem Laden ist jedenfalls bombig und der Service ist herzlich und auf Zack.

Große Portionen — was bei einem griechischen Restaurant nicht überraschen sollte — dafür jedoch deutlich besserer Geschmack als man es gewohnt. Zackiges Kellner und Ouzo so viel man möchte — aufs Haus ;)

Das Personal ist stets freundlich und sehr, sehr bemüht einem hier einen schönen Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen! Was ihnen im übrigen auch immer gelungen ist, wir kommen mind. 1×¼ jährlich!

Amazing place for Greek food. The family that owns it all pour their heart into their work and love what they do.
The menu is huge and has food for all types of eaters, aside from vegans (sorry vegans!). The plates are quite large for one sitting, maybe you’re better off sharing two plates with your date or friends. Most meals come with a salad that is brought to you before your meal as an appetizer. Along with your meal, you get unlimited free shots of Ouzo. They insist on refilling your shot glasses, so keep them full until the end of the night!
For the prices, they are standard Berlin prices. What you get in your meal is totally worth it. Not only do you pay around 10 – 15 € for your plate, but after you’re finished, you get free complementary fruit on the house and a free espresso.

Netter Laden, wenn man es lebhaft mag. Ordentliche Küche und ordentlich Ouzo auf’s Haus.

We ate here on our first night in Berlin — we grabbed the only remaining table outside on a Monday night. The waiters were friendly and enthusiastic and made you feel welcome. The food was outstanding. I had the lamb shank in a tomato base sauce with pearl onions and my wife had pork medallions which were cooked to perfection. The waiters brought around bottles of ouzo for free shots — there were several birthday parties. It was more like a Greek family type experience. They brought us complimentary greek coffee and a plate of fruit at the end of the meal. We would definitely eat here again. Good value for the money.

Very salty but size is big. Lots of cheese of cheese on the dish. If you can eat that much, then go for it.

We trusted the Unilocal reviews and went there yesterday evening but I really don’t understand how it can have such a rating. Yes, they do offer free ouzo and the portions are huge, but that’s about it. I guess the booze helped to improve the ratings ;-) Let’s get to the food, we ordered a mixed platter of grilled meat and seafood. My first complain is the greek salad, we got lettuce and shredded carrots in a mayo sauce, that was it. Nowhere we had olives, tomatoes, cucumbers etc. A huge let down and honestly a joke for any Greek place. The meat in mixed grill was overcooked and dry, also there were no sides only meat and the small lettuce salad. The seafood was even worse, the salmon filet was tasteless, the baked fish was completely soggy and dripping from oil, the calamari were what you get in the supermarket to through in the oven. The highlight was a baked potato that came with the seafood. I most certainly won’t go back there and I hope other reviewers on Unilocal will also focus more on the food and not only on the free Ouzo and the huge portions. I would be inclined to give 2 stars, but the service is nice and 2 stars seems to harsh but based on the food it might would be the right choice…

Even if you are not looking for free float Ouzo and heavy dishes, this place is perfect for a nice restaurant experience.

Einfach super! Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Traditionelle Musik und Ouzo aufs Haus bis man aus dem Restaurant kriecht.
Das Essen ist sehr lecker und wirklich sehr großen Portionen.
Der Hauswein ist auch sehr gut. Das war aufjedenfall nicht das Letzte mal in der Asteria.

Zu dritt eingekehrt, nachdem man jahrelang daran vorbei gelaufen ist.
Ein netter Ort ein paar Meter abseits des Tourismusstroms im Kiez rund um den Mauerpark. Erstaunlicherweise geht die Bedienung es entspannt an und glänzt mit Höflichkeit. Griechentypisch ist der erste Ouzo schnell im Glas. Das passiert im Laufe des nachmittags öfter.
Das Essen ist überdurchschnittlich gut, schön angerichtet und schmackhaft. Portionen absolut ausreichend. Preislich bewegt es sich etwas höher als man es beim Griechen gewohnt ist, hält sich aber im Rahmen. Das Tzatziki ist sehr lecker, Fleisch saftig und gut gegrillt.
Erschreckend sind Getränkepreise (Glas Wasser über 4 EUR).
Insgesamt empfand ich den Besuch als sehr angenehm und verliess das Restaurant dank des reichlichen Ouzos aufs haus leicht angegangen und satt.
Eine freundliche Bedienung die alles im Griff hat rundet das Ganze ab !

My favorite greek restaurant in Berlin. The food is excelent. I love their Moussaka and the tzatziki sauce. Their gyros are very tasty and are a good choice for those who appreciate meet a lot. The waiters are funny and nice.

Unerwartet guter Service! Für einem Berliner fühlt es sich fast schon unheimlich an. Riesengroße Portionen, sehr lecker, äußerst freundlich.

If you’re looking for huge portions of meat and unlimited ouzo, this is your spot.
If you’re trying to recapture your perfect romantic night out on one of the thousands idyllic Greek islands, this is not your place.
Although the meet is of good quality, the menu is a bit standard like all other western european greek restaurants. The salads lack inspiration and basically everything you order is fried or grilled.
We started with a mixed vorspeisen plate, that had some fried zucchini, eggplant, feta, etc. it all tasted quite good, but at some point you’re missing some nice fresh things that are not soaking in oil. Next we all ordered one of the mixed meat menu’s, which gave us a serious overdose of meat that, in combination with the poor ventilation and extremely high temperatures, at some point made me sick. I could not wait to get out of the meat-​smelling oil soaked environment, and get some fresh air.
Although the staff was friendly (in a typical way), the terrible interior and awfully dense seating plan did not do it for me. Thee stars for the food quality, but we won’t be going back. The ouzo refills are also a bit unnecessary, and clearly used to attract the tourists that get out at the nearby Eberswalder str.
We ended up going home with a doggy bag filled with 2 kg of left over meat (all put together in one box), which felt a bit cruel even for me as a frequent meat eater. Half the portions would’ve sufficed.

Großartiger Grieche!
Es war schon recht voll und es war mir etwas unangenehm, ich brauchte nur einen Platz für mich. «Selbstverständlich, kein Problem, kommen Sie bitte mit.»
Ich saß noch nicht ganz, da bekam ich auch schon den ersten Ouzo. Dieser Vorgang wiederholte sich von nun an, wenn mein Glas leer war. Am Nebentisch habe ich mitbekommen, dass man das Auffüllen mit vielem Bitten abwehren konnte.
Bestellt habe ich Souvlaki. Das leckerste Souvlaki, so bildete ich mir zumindest immer ein, habe ich einmal auf Kreta bekommen. Na gut, Kreta ist jetzt halt auf Platz 2 gerutscht.
Sehr tolle Location, ganz unglaublich freundliches Personal und sehr leckeres Essen und vielleicht ist Berlin jetzt eben doch eine «Reise wert».
Meine Rechnung bekam ich übrigens mit einem Espresso.

Massive delicious affordable portions. Heaps of free shots. Outstanding friendly service. This place is the best!

I was skeptical about the reviews mentioning all the Ouzo but it’s entirely true! The friendly staff kept the ouzo coming all night. The fruit plate and espresso were nice additions as well.
We started with the fried feta, garlic bread, pita with tzatziki and spanikopita (it was a large group…) The pita with tzatziki was very good; flavorful and crisp on the outside. However the rest of the dishes were unremarkable.
Dinner began with a salad that was unnecessary, weak lettuce and a salty dressing. The portions were huge. I ordered a ground meat that was juicy and flavorful with a grilled exterior, it was amazing. The rice on the side seemed to be an after thought and was room temperature and bland. I also tasted the pork skewers which were really delicious, a great texture. The gyros are amazing, some of the best I’ve ever tasted.
This is a great find, an all around great experience.

Ich habe im Asteria gegessen und es war wirklich super lecker!
Wir waren zu Dritt und haben 3 Vorspeisen und 3 Asteria-​Teller. Das Essen war wirklich super lecker, jedoch war es viel zu viel! Deswegen würde ich vorschlagen eher Essen zu teilen um nicht soviel Essen zu vergeuden.
Wir waren an einem Samstag da, und es war super Atmosphäre. 2 Griechische Musikanten haben den ganzen Abend laute Musik gespielt und Leute sind während dem Essen aufgestanden haben getanzt und geklatscht! Es war also ziemlich Laut, dh nicht geeignet für ein romantisches Dinner.
Auf jeden Fall authentisch, dar viele Griechische Familien dort gespeist haben.
Ich würde Asteria auf jeden Fall Empfehlen! Jedoch machen Sie am Wochenende eine Reservierung!

Vorneweg… das Essen ist grundsolide lecker und vor allem auch immer reichlich, wenn auch nicht besonders. Einmalig dürfte aber auf jeden Fall das Personal, die lockere Atmosphäre und der Service drumherum sein. Dafür also absolut Daumen hoch! Durch den Ouzo aufs Haus geht es dann aber auch unter den Gästen manchmal etwas lauter zu und eine gewisse ausgelassen-​laute Stimmung stellt sich ein… wer das mag: Tisch reservieren und ausprobieren!
In jedem Fall immer für einen netten Abend zu empfehlen.

This restaurant had the best service out of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. You get seated very quickly and are served complementary ouzo and anise shots. They refill these shots throughout service and keep the liquor coming. Larger tables had pitchers of these shots placed on their table. After we ordered the waiters and owner kept checking up on us. At the end they provided complementary espresso with the bill. I went to this restaurant on a week day and it was packed. EVERYONE there was laughing and having a great time. They were all joking with the wait staff as well. I have never had such great customer service at a restaurant ever!

This is a solid 5 stars review simply for the value you receive for your money, the HUGE portions, the wonderfully prepared I can’t take another bite, but I will eat anyway Greek food that just makes you shout YAMAS! all the way out the door.

The first time I was there with friends for dinner, he recommended it this place, so liked to give it a try. And Wow, what a great Greek restaurant! I believe this is one of the best I tried so far in Berlin. I always love Greek food, this place sure became one of the place I will keep coming.
Asteria is quite easy to find, it is right next to U-​Bahn station Eberswalder Straße. When you get out of the station just like around, surely you could find it very soon. The design of restaurant is quite nice, classic and comfortable. I usually will take the site outside though, if it isn’t too cold.
The food here are not only delicious, but also enough to make you full to sweat. I like the meats here a lot, specially the grill dishes. It tasted fantastic. Some side dishes are very good as well, they also got quite friendly service. The price is totally acceptable. We really enjoyed our dinner here. It perfectly match my taste. When I want to hunger for some great Greek food, i know where I should go.

This place is great! Very friendly staff! The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Free ouzo! All you can drink! If you paid for the ouzo you meal would be less than free. Very fun place for a group!

Bester Grieche wo ich ausserhalb Griechenlands gegessen habe! Sehr freundliches Personal, sehr gutes Essen (große Portionen!) und dazu noch né Ouzo-​Flatrate für lau. Ambiente auch sehr einladend. Vorab unbedingt Reservieren! Ich komme wieder.

I love greek food and I know quite a few good greek restaurants but this is the best! Very friendly, great authentic food, big portions and always enough ouzo. Enjoy!

Nettes Servicepersonal mit Hang zu Späßen. Essen war gut, ich wollte einen griechischen Grillteller und ich bekam einen. Für meinen Geschmack zu wenig Pommes, da hätte ich gerne ein Fleischstück weniger gehabt und mehr Pommes. Ist aber Geschmackssache. Letztendlich blieb etwas über, die Portion war mehr als ausreichend. Sollte es in Berlin nochmal Griechisch sein, dann ruhig wieder hier. Ouzo ging aufs Haus und nicht nur einer.
Einen Stern habe ich abgezogen weil mir ein Lammspieß auf dem Teller fehlte, den ich vor Jahrhunderten beim Griechen in Münster immer so schätzte. ;-)

Had a dinner with a friend earlier this evening at the terrace which was absolutely full (quite a rare thing on a Monday evening).
It was a Greek restaurant in German style — meaning: I guess that a true Greek would have find the «schnitzel» in the menu quite out of place, but it seemed quite okay with everyone else there.
Service is friendly and flexible — we asked to change the side dish of the Gyros to something which is not listed on the side dish options but on the «starters» and the waitress said «no problem» (and charged us no extra charge, although it was priced almost double as the «fixed» side dishes).
The meat was really good, the main course was huge (I mean, I knew in advance that we should not have to order an extra starter, but still).
Only one thing about the salad (they served a «side» salad with the main course): French dressing?! Really?! in a bloody Greek restaurant?! A good old olive oil extra virgin with more tomatoes and olives would have upgraded the all thing.
If you’re in Schoenhauser Allee, worth stopping by.

SPIEL SPASS UND SPANNUN– BEst Greece Restaurant I have ever been to.
You get Ouzo all youz can drink and really good value for your money. The staff is ALWAYS friendly.
If you like greece food– just go!

Schon mehrere Jahre dran vorbeigelaufen und heute zum ersten Mal drin gewesen —
es hat sich voll und ganz gelohnt. Die Kellner begrüßen einen sehr persönlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Das Essen war sehr lecker und alles war sehr frisch, der Ouzo mehr als reichlich und am Ende gab es noch einen Espresso und kleinen Obstteller aufs Haus. Absolut zu empfehlen!

I had a great time there. The food was very good and the price was not expensive. The vegetarian plate of starters is a great choice. The staff was very friendly and they served us with free shots, some fruit plates and espresso all on the house.
I was amazed by the service and I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice greek restaurant.
