Bildungsstätte der Caritas Bad Saarow

This was the location of my institute retreat. We stayed here for an overnight closed-​door meeting, and frankly, it is just one of the places where it makes me feel so glad that I live in a city.
After being in a bus for about an hour, we arrived to this place, in the middle of nowhere. We were placed in rooms, with a roommate. The rooms are very clean and organized. As the hotel is actually a former facility for homeless children, it was actually an interesting experience. The bathrooms for example are all handicap-​equipped. The doors open very wide, and there are extra handles for all the handicapped needs that one might have.
The food that they offered was great, I have no complaints about it.
Perhaps my biggest complaint was the Internet. I am sorry, I am an academic, and having a reliable Internet connection is a requirement for me. They have wi-​fi, or rather, supposedly have wi-​fi. They tell the guests that one can receive a username and password at the lobby, however, when one receives it, it still doesn’t work. If not for my smartphone, then I would have been cut off from the rest of the world for 2 days. Perhaps, that is the point, after all, this hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but I think it is not good service if a hotel «offers» wi-​fi service but it actually doesn’t work at all.
Overall, I give this place 3 stars. They earn very high points with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the bedrooms, as well as the very edible food, but other 21^st-​century creature comforts such as wireless Internet needs to catch up.
