This is a very very hard place to get to. We literally had to walk from the neighborhood above the elevator for about half an hour. If you have vertigo, then don’t come from above, because those staircases etched into the hillside can get very steep. Even though google maps might say the walk from the Üçyol Metro station is only 8 minutes, the streets are wind a lot. We even had a few of our Turkish friends come with us, and we had to ask locals a few times which specific streets to take. And take the metro to Üçyol station, not the Konak station. The Konak station is below Asansor, but it is going to be a far walk in the sun. At least when you get off the Üçyol station, you really get to see a more local, almost untouched view(sans tourists) of Izmir that you can’t really see near the water. The views are worth it though. I do not think my experience in Izmir would have been complete had I not come to Asansor.
